  1. May I ask what makes the free version of Malwarebytes not serious against the paid version of it, or any other free product verses its paid conterpart?
  2. There are plenty of good anti malware reviews all over the net. Pick the ones you like the look of and try them; I use several products, all of them free, from Spywareblaster to Malwarebytes, Spybot to on-line av scan sites. The key is not to rely on one product or supplier for any one task. There are paid upgrades for most, I just don't find the need - may be Malwarebytes would be an idea.
  3. Sure adding a VPN increases your security (any addition does, and you don't have the issue of a rogue Tor exit relay if your exit IP is a VPN one); if you switch Tor circuits very regularly then how much useful data implicating yourself that can be collected is questionable. If the speed is ok for you then fine, add as many Tor, VPN's, proxy's or whatever. If EVERYTHING you do on the internet has to be encrypted then as you said, using https everywhere will be impossible so the question about VPN's and Tor dowsn't come into the discussion.
  4. Linking ten VPN's together with a Tor link in between each of them would work! It would serve no purpose and be unusable. VPN -> Tor or Tor -> VPN provides plenty of encryption, plus you could use an SSL or SSH tunnel plus only ever use https to give you end to end encrytion too. That would be four layers, how many is enough? Why not add a second VPN to the chain, a few people do that to enhance their anonymity level - it isn't all about encryption.
  5. Loads of us use this sort of config lots! Personally I just use AirVPN --> Tor Browser if I use Tor at all.
  6. I trust it, have no problem at all with it, like it.
  7. Whoever modified my previous post can you fix the mess you made of the quoted text? Mess with the posts as you see fit but try not to trash them thanks.
  8. Just as the title asks, Do you think you are a professional / master at masking your identity? Do you think its impossible using airvpn by itself would prevent your internet service provider from unmasking your identity and activities using airvpn? We would love to hear why you think your 100% secure, and what you have done to achieve this. 1) No 2) My ISP has to know my ID since I openly pay them, but AirVPN certainly does mask my activities from them. That is a major factor in having it. 3) No one is 100% secure. Use HTTPS as much as possible, and our (other) favourite browser add ons mentioned all over. Use a secure private email provider for anything you want to keep private. Common sense - don't give information away unless necessary, and keep up to date with security issues and tips & tricks by reading stuff such as these forums.
  9. Try using https://search.disconnect.me as your search page. The only irritation for me is that it defaults to United States but that is more easily changed than filling in captchas which I passionately hate. It doesn't have all the extras StartPage has but I can live with that. I doubt you need to close your browser after every search; if your computer is that vulnerable then the only safe option is to keep off the internet altogether at home. What additional security measures do you need to sign in to email accounts? As long as you are using HTTPS then you are connecting securely. Your email accounts themselves may not be though. I use Posteo for some things (such as AirVPN!) which is as secure and anonymous as can be pretty much.
  10. I installed Chrome just before I posted so I assume it is the latest I could get, just to see what the latest version did, albeit on a Lollipop powered phone. I've uninstalled it now since I never use it normally. I don't understand what you mean; 'since the latest version of Chrome' what exactly?
  11. Android Chrome does not support any add ons but you can tweak the flags. The default settings now appear to stop webrtc leaks. To show the relevant flags type "chrome://flags/#disable-webrtc" in the address bar. There is a flag 'Enable support for WebRTC Stun origin header' which is disabled by default. Two other pertinent flags which presumably allow WebRTC to actually work are enabled so this appears to be how the problem has been solved using Chrome (on Android).
  12. I've not looked at this for a while but as far as I am aware and after testing, this is not a problem on Android even with Chrome. To check, use Network Info II or similar application to show your vpn exit ip (in Network Info you press on 'IP' at the top to make it discover it) then goto ipleak.com in Chrome and compare.
  13. 1) There is no automatic server switching and I for one would not want it; it would disconnect you lots, at any time at all no matter what you were doing. It would be very messy and simply a bad idea for lots of reasons I can't be bothered to type out. 2) Most of the servers are 1Gbit, the lesser number and the green bar indicate the bandwith being used. So the bigger the bar, the more data that server is moving and the harder it is working. So if you are after best performance you want the one with the lowest number and smallest bar. I've never noticed that much difference, I always go for the highest user to help hide my traffic for what its worth! The latency might be important to you especially for gaming when you need speedy responses - the lower the latency the faster the server can respond, usually governed by location but not always. 3) I avoid Wifi away from home, mainly because I find it useless without a VPN never mind with. I have no problem using mobile data using 'openvpn connect' but then that is with and for Android. I know zilch about i-anythings
  14. I didn't until now. I entered the ipleak ip and of course it saw my real ip. I didn't know anything about CIDR ip ranges either - quite interesting
  15. You answered it all yourself. You do need the ip address which you can get using many sites (I used domain-records-lookup.com to test this). It is very simple to just add the ip into the 'routes' settings then shut down and restart the client
  16. Don't ever wait in the forum for a Staff response. Staff do not have to respond to anything. They might. Might not. Raise a support request for proper AirVPN support.
  17. This obviously leads to an inability to read about stuff
  18. Sorry to single out such a short quote but it means a great deal. Indeed it embodies mine and many in Jesus. We need no religous bigotry or any man made nonesense.
  19. Try looking up the properties of whatever AirVPN shortcut you have e.g. in Linux panel, right click > edit. If you don't have a shortcut, create one. I'm a newbie at Linux, might well be a better way.
  20. Not only negligible but also safer than any alternative.
  21. Just as an aside, low latency values are required for such things as gaming where you need a quick response very often whereas for overall traffic speed eg for streaming / downloading it is not so relevant.
