Hi guys! I set up my Windows 7 PC by this instruction: https://airvpn.org/topic/3405-windows-comodo-prevent-leaks/. It's a nice HOW-TO guide and i'm very grateful for it, but is there any similar guide to add TOR before my VPN connection? I tried to find some info on this forum, but I couldn't. So, if anybody knows links to HOW-TO guides please give it to me. Thank you! P.S. - I know about Eddie, but i really want to set up it with OpenVPN.

Hello, I have AirVPN running as OpenVPN on a Asus RT-AC68P where all my client connect to. Port forwarding and everything works great. I have unRAID running on a home server connected to this router behind the VPN that is running the lastest version on Nextcloud. I am easily able to access my Nextcloud outside the home, remotely, via the AirVPN port forward airdns system. I want to be able to access my Nextcloud server via a single address whether it is remotely (where I use the airdns port forwarder) or in house on the same WiFi network. Clearly if I'm at within the network then the Airdns port forwarder will not work. I know I can just use the local address at home to access but it would be nice not to have to keep switching server addresses. Is there a way to do this? Do I need to get a webhost name and have that forward to the static IP? Thank you!

Hello All, I've been with AirVPN a while now. I think they're the best. My ISP plan was 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Initially, I had some speed issues. Staff were wonderful and solved my issue. Great speed all around. I recently upgraded my line to 50 Mbps up and 10 Mbps down. When not connected to the VPN I get speeds around 45 to 47 Mbps down and 7 to 8 Mpbs up. Connected with AirVPN, I get about 25 to 27 Mbps and 7 Mpbs up. Strange that the upload is not affected. I have tried so many things; different protocols with different servers and so forth and yet no resolution. I have contacted Staff and they suggested a few things but nothing has worked. I think they may be stumped as well. My modem is a TP-Link TD-W9970. I believe it's properly configured. I do NOT want to try another VPN service. I've been reading online to find a solution. Someone mentioned changing the MTU settings from the computer (not the router). Could not quite get it to work. I don't know if my CPU is responsible as it is about ten years old. I plan to upgrade my system soon. If it is the CPU, I don't understand why the speed is fine without the VPN. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you all, DL

I work in a school in China that has suddenly changed admin and become somewhat hostile. According to one of the IT people here, they've installed software on a server that would enable them to take screenshots of anyone's computer or phone that is on the network. We don't have to install software on our laptops or phones to be able to get on the network so I really don't see how taking screenshots is remotely possible. It MIGHT work if we log onto the network to move files or to print, but even that seems a bit of a stretch. I trust the IT guy as far as being honest. He didn't install this new powerful software, but heard someone else in his office talking about it. I'm guessing if I'm on a VPN my Internet use should still be secure. Any comments or ideas about this?

Hey, Just a few days ago before I left everything worked just fine, and now I'm back home and can't login. The error I get is: I've tried reinstalling, rebooting the pc and other things you try when you troubleshoot. There is also nothing in the logs besides the error in the pop-up window. A screenshot is in the attachments. Maybe someone knows what to do.. Regards

Using Windows 10 here. I'm trying to use VPN over Tor, but it's not working! My exit IP is the Tor one and i don't know what to do, since i already followed this: https://airvpn.org/tor/ I'm already with Tor marked in the connection mode, so i test and it says ok, and then i save it. I do this with the Tor Browser already open. I've also already read the "Tor Control Authentication" section of the link above and checked the Torrc file. And there is already the "ControlPort 9151" and the "CookieAuthentication1" writted. In the article above, it also says that i should run from a terminal some kind of code, but it looks like something for Linux distributions. What should I do?

I'm trying to create a docker image that connects to a VPN on launch with Eddie. It appears the error I'm getting is related to a driver that's needed at some point, but I can't find any details. I'm using the standard portable eddie version (though I also tried mono and ended up with the same result). It would seem that in an effort to shill for the Chinese Government, Mojang has decided to ban all users on VPN's from connecting to the login servers needed to access the game. In doing so, they hope to force all Chinese players to fall back to the Chinese government approved version of Minecraft. All VPN users should now be logged out when connecting and fed the message "Invalid username or password" When emailing Mojang about the issue, they recommend connecting without a VPN to fix the issue, and in one instance in the reddit thread below, a user was informed that their account was outright banned for using a VPN (However it is unknown if this was because of a previous infraction such as bypassing server bans etc.?) And told to use the Chinese version instead. https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/5vwve1/mojang_now_ban_accounts_for_vpn_usage/ Now i personally do not play Minecraft that much at all anymore, but because of this i cannot access my game simply for trying to protect my privacy, and I'm not even from China. I Refuse to remove the VPN connection simply to play a game, and no one else should have to either. Sadly, i already purchased the game a very long time ago, so i cannot boycott them, but i can certainly spread the news of what they are doing, so that other VPN users looking to play the game should know either not to buy it, expect to disconnect if you do, and if you don't you will have to get the game through other means to retain the ability to play when connected to VPN's.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if it is possible to use an ad-blocking non-AirVPN DNS on iOS? Why do we have to use the original airVPN DNS in the first place. We should have a choice of what dns server(s) we wish to use. Does anyone know if and how to get this to work? Thanks.

Hi guys I always use to check my network info on ipleak.net also to make sure I'm connected to the vpn but, recently, using the Austria servers ipleak.net started to show that I'm connecting from UK. It's not a real problem as long as there are no info discloused about my real IP or provider, but I'd like to understand why that's happening. Andrea

Just got airvpn and the download speeds on torrents keep rising and dropping all the time. Ive downloaded in the past without VPN and with a different VPN and the speeds were always steady around 900 kbs and 1mbs or higher. With airvpn its constantly fluctating every minute or 2. It goes up to around 1 mbs, then drops to 100kbs rinse and repeat. Already tried different servers and ports through SSL and SSH same thig.

Hello everyone, I would like to create rules in the Windows 7 firewall so the AirVPN Edie client can work properly. Right now I have to allow all outbound connections for the client to work, which is not that secure. I want to have my Windows 7 firewall block all inbound and outbound connections unless I make a rule which allows a connection. I tried to make new rules in the Windows 7 firewall which included the AirVPN client files located in C:\Program Files\AirVPN to allow the connections but this did not work. I am fairly new to making firewall rules and using a VPN, so I need a basic explanation how to do this. Any advice would be appreciated.

Sirs I just want to uninstall AIRvpn from Windows 7. I tried uninstalling via Control Panel>Programs & Features>AirVPN uninstall. It said it was uninstalled. Trouble is that I now have NO internet connection. I want to know: 1. Is there a simple way to uninstall it? 2. If yes, how do I do it? 3. If there's no simple way, why isn't there a simple way? 4. If there's only a complicated way, please tell me in VERY simple terms. I'm a bit of an idiot with computers. Wozza

Hi everyone, Since I changed the DNS servers from my internet box, I can only access to websites threw their IP (000.0.00.00) and not from their names (google.com). I think it's related to a DNS resolution problem. I've tried some known issues on Ubuntu such as adding these lines to my ovpn files : script-security 2up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-confdown /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf Here is my connection logs : Thanks ! agent41

Hey guys, i'm brand new to Air vpn and vpn's in general, and I can't figure out how to run the vpn through tor. I am trying to figure out how to get the signal chain to look like this (Computer+vpn encription---->tor----->vpn----->internet. I have tried changing the settings in vpn under preferences to the tor connection option, it says connection successful, but then when I look up my ip through tor it shows the tor exit node ip meaning that anybody can see i'm using tor. Any tips would be great.

Hi, Long-time AirVPN user, I'm on a linux PC, using the ufw method described here: (https://airvpn.org/topic/5586-prevent-leaks-with-linux-firestarter-also-stop-traffic-when-vpn-drops/?p=14095). I would like to share this connection with other devices, having my PC serve as a kind of router. Assume I cannot modify my router or the other devices to natively use AirVPN. I have been able to create a wifi hotspot using an ethernet connection. However, my devices are unable to complete the connection until I disable the firewall. Obviously, this is not an acceptable solution as it will allow leaks and I was wondering if anyone here in the community could modify randombit and worric's method to allow hotspot usage.

Think of sshuttle as a "poor man's VPN". You start sudo sshuttle -r 1.2.3.4 0/0 and when you surf to http://ipchicken.com you're IP is 1.2.3.4, as if you were on a VPN. But sshuttle takes a whole different approach via python. If it works, it is great to use with a rental VPS or sth. like that. It may not work on all Linux versions, but if it does, it is less hassle to run and set up than "softether VPN".

Hello, I am not able to use AirVPN when using obfs4 bridges in Tor. I have found these threads on the topic, but none of them seem to give a conclusive solution: TOR (obfs) & AirVPN not workingTor with obfs4 - can't connect to airvpnI am running the latest 64-bit version of Eddie (2.11.10) and Tor 6.0.8 on Windows x64. Hello, I have a question that maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer. I have a computer at home that runs airvpn client and a remote computer. I want to be able to connect from either computer to another one with ssh. Without airvpn client, everything works (obviously). If I run airvpn without network lock, I can ssh from home to remote (it goes via the AirVPN server) but not from remote to home. I tried to start airvpn with the parameter "routes.custom=my.remote.ip.addr,255.255.255.255,out" but it didn't help - the required route was not added to the routing table. However, that problem was easily solved: I added the route separately with "route add -host my.remote.ip.address gw 192.168.1.1" and all was well: ssh works from home to remote and from remote to home bypassing AirVPN as I want it to do. Now, I enable network lock. This time I need to add "allowed IP" parameter to be able to ssh from home to remote: ./airvpn -cli -connect -netlock -login=**** password=**** netlock.allowed_ips=my.remote.ip.addr But ssh from remote to home is blocked by the firewall. I can't find any airvpn parameter that can be used to create custom firewall rules. So I ended up with adding the required rule myself. Before: # iptables -L -v --line-numbers Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes) num pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination 1 177 16717 ACCEPT all -- lo any anywhere anywhere 2 0 0 ACCEPT all -- any any 255.255.255.255 anywhere 3 93 8963 ACCEPT all -- any any 192.168.0.0/16 192.168.0.0/16 4 26 4651 ACCEPT all -- any any 10.0.0.0/8 10.0.0.0/8 5 0 0 ACCEPT all -- any any 172.16.0.0/12 172.16.0.0/12 6 0 0 ACCEPT icmp -- any any anywhere anywhere icmp echo-request 7 1890 460K ACCEPT all -- any any anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED 8 0 0 ACCEPT all -- tun+ any anywhere anywhere 9 6 502 DROP all -- any any anywhere anywhere Add the rule: iptables -t filter -I INPUT 9 -i eth0 -p tcp -s my.remote.ip.addr --dport 22 -j ACCEPT After: # iptables -L -v --line-numbers Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes) num pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination 1 182 17197 ACCEPT all -- lo any anywhere anywhere 2 0 0 ACCEPT all -- any any 255.255.255.255 anywhere 3 107 10296 ACCEPT all -- any any 192.168.0.0/16 192.168.0.0/16 4 41 6945 ACCEPT all -- any any 10.0.0.0/8 10.0.0.0/8 5 0 0 ACCEPT all -- any any 172.16.0.0/12 172.16.0.0/12 6 0 0 ACCEPT icmp -- any any anywhere anywhere icmp echo-request 7 1981 480K ACCEPT all -- any any anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED 8 0 0 ACCEPT all -- tun+ any anywhere anywhere 9 0 0 ACCEPT tcp -- eth0 any my.remote.ip.addr anywhere tcp dpt:22 10 6 502 DROP all -- any any anywhere anywhere Now everything works again, but the question remains: what is the best way to achieve that ? In the worst case scenario, I can just start airvpn in the background, wait a minute or so and then run iptables with my additional rule. But that looks ugly. Can anyone think of a better way ? Maybe some "event.session..." or "event.vpn..." parameter will do the trick ? Thanks for any help.
