  1. Hello! The ipleak issue is due to Airs recent changes, so I'd expect that to be fixed soon, as you're far from the only one having that issue. As for DNS, maybe you'd find this Staff post on DNS relevant. I recommend trying out different protocols and networks too, in terms of enabling that DNS checkroute thing, as it'll sometimes work then. Lastly, I think you'll appreciate this ffprofile maker.
  2. Welcome to AirVPN ! You can count on Air fixing the issue - especially if many are having it. I've checked and I get the same issue, in the DNS field. Your client is fine, it's just that changes were recently added to ipleak and the site is run by Air .
  3. Hello! Maybe it would be easier if you tried the portable experimental version of the Eddie client . It's under "other versions" on the DL page. Maybe your DNS got changed or something, so you could try check out resolv.conf. nano /etc/resolv.conf nameserver 10.4.0.1 Maybe Staffs post on DNS will be relevant for you eventually as well, I don't know. I don't know if any of this helps, but might as well try lol.
  4. Hello! It would be preferable if you appended the entire log, in addition to putting it in spoiler tags .
  5. Hello! Ipleak has been having some issues lately, due to some changes that were implemented I think. Thanks for the notice . You could use the experimental version, as it works with Mono I believe.
  6. Indeed it doesn't, but it's just to remind everyone that Air can't secure ones PC . The last line of your OP also made me wonder if this was unclear to you or not, simply. Air takes security super seriously though - this they've proven in their lightning fast responses, to anything security related. I don't know their hardware setup, but perhaps you could submit a support ticket if you don't get satisfactory answers here. Regardless of the features in place however, trust in the provider is still paramount, as they could easily alter any configuration they made known to you, were they malicious in some manner; provided you don't take other measures to enact partition of trust.
  7. Hello! Welcome to AirVPN. It would be preferable if you append the entire log
  8. Yeah, but now it's legal... Hello! Even if it wasn't legal, they'd just change the laws to make it retroactively legal haha. *Cough* UK *cough*.
  9. Hello ! @OP Good stuff. Maybe you should change to title to include the word "Guide" somewhere, to make it more clear for people. @3vSIM Are you using the Eddie client by any chance and perhaps with Network Lock? Just curious.
  10. Hello! You should always try your best to secure your own PC, since if your PC is compromised, Air can't help you. Air also doesn't attempt to secure people's PCs as such either, so even if they had all the bells and whistles (and I have no reason to think they don't), they focus on securing your connection. But there's so many ways to mess up: pre-installed bloatware, hardware issues, browser weaknesses and silly behavior on the users part . Air does use shared IPs, a long with separate entry and exit IPs (to guard against timing attacks I believe). I don't know what software/hardware Air uses, but according to all that I've read, they're quite meticulous when it comes to choosing server location & handling security. If you do use a firewall yourself though, just make sure that: AirVPN, openvpn.exe and pings to Airs servers aren't blocked :]. We have some excellent pfSense guides around here which you should perhaps look into.
  11. So you even tried the portable version of the experimental version and it didn't work? Sent to you from me with datalove
  12. Hello! I assume you downloaded the latest stable version. Please go to the download page> Other versions> Experimental/Beta version and try that . Sent to you from me with datalove
  13. Hello! Don't worry about noob questions. Simply use network lock to be sure. However you may want to either uninstall or disable comodo. Otherwise at least make sure AirVPN and openvpn.exe are added to whatever exceptions list it has. You should also check ipleak.net for leaks. You can add addresses to an exceptions list. Ones which you don't want to go through the VPN tunnel. This is assuming you use the Eddie client . Otherwise forwarding a few ports for some of your games can work too, as well as picking low latency servers. Sent to you from me with datalove
  14. Hello! That sounds quite demanding. I hope you have the right hardware and software haha. Did you remember to pick a low-latency VPN server? You might also have to change your TAP drivers: check the troubleshooting section. I found that the one which comes with the 2.10 Eddie stable, struggles to handle situations like the one you mentioned.Use UDP.Try forwarding some ports for the game. It might help.Make sure your firewall isn't blocking anything.
  15. So despite not wanting to answer Staffs recent replies, will you nonetheless link to or otherwise openly acknowledge the exchanges made in this thread, on your website and/or in your original review? I think it's healthy for visitors to be able to get both sides "versions", if you will. Thank you for joining up and being willing to explain your position .
  16. Hello! With SSL it's a given you'll take a performance hit. Especially if you're in China and trying to connect to remote servers. Are you using Eddie? Sometimes the TAP driver in the latest stable version can be a pain during downloads I find. So you could try a different driver if you want. Also, are you using Airs DNS? Sent to you from me with datalove
  17. Hello! What?? Haha. Can you please provide Eddie logs? Sent to you from me with datalove
  18. Hello! Air definitely isn't the type to pay reviewers - if so, I have to wonder who they've been paying, because I don't see any reviews of them, much lol. Not compared to say, PIA. As for doing nothing, I think that's plausible, in the sense that I think Air would not do anything, if a given issue wasn't their problem - which it could sound like, based on what you said . I think it's hard to say anything for sure, until we know the details. Thank you for bringing it to our attention, that was nice of you .
  19. uhh..no. There is no mandatory logging law in the USA for VPN providers. Hello! I can't remember who mentioned it on the forums, but the gist of it was that they do seem to have laws that would permit or perhaps even require some kind of logging and/or access to data.
  20. Hello! Saying all-VPNs log can be a little misleading, in the sense that it depends on how broadly you define log. You could say you don't "log" if you merely do real-time analysis or "logging" - which may be inevitable with regards to VPNs. But that doesn't mean they keep the logs, share them, analyse them or attempt to collect a lot of them, which is very important .
  21. In your case, Eddie is the way to go. Nicer interface, FOSS software, additional features such as network lock, plenty flexibility in the form of custom directives and such, as well as matching speeds. It's just great to use Airs own software & hardware ^=^. OpenNIC is a good alternative, in the sense that you can thus avoid using googles DNS (as it's otherwise a little self-defeating potentially haha). I don't otherwise see any advantages to not using Airs DNS, when they run things so well. If you don't use their DNS, I also don't think you can make use of their neat little micro-routing scheme. Sent to you from me with datalove
  22. Hello! I find it a little baffling, but certainly funny as well, that you seem upset about things working correctly haha. As Fox alluded to, Air employs micro-routing for certain websites and/or services; Iplayer being one of them. Thus allowing you to connect to the service regardless of which country server you pick, in relation to whatever the country of origin is, for the service you're trying to access. The only downside, is that only "supported" websites, in Airs system, can allow for this. There's a subforum around here which lists which services are supported. It's also possible to request that a service of your choosing be added to Airs supported list, however I don't know what the success rate is. Anyhow, enjoy it ^_° Sent to you from me with datalove
  23. Hello! You could use the Air-supported OpenNic if you want . Have you tried the AirVPN Eddie client at all? Sent to you from me with datalove
  24. Wrong. The username in IPB is just a cosmetic setting, also called a display name and this is what the community sees. What is important is the numeric uid that binds to a unique username (string, Unicode allowed). Anyone can change the username from this menu: https://airvpn.org/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=displayname Aha, well there you go . Thank you zhang.
