Hello! Welcome to AirVPN. On the top bar, on the AirVPN name/icon, have you tried clicking "Show Main Interface" or something to that effect? You should have a full GUI . As for your username, you'll have to go to your client area and submit a support ticket. I don't think it happens too often, so be prepared to make a new account.

Hello! This is a stab in the dark, but perhaps you should try a different TAP driver. Check the troubleshooting forum . You might also want to take a look at some remote port forwarding, if applicable in your situation. Sent to you from me with datalove

Hello! I presume you're using Eddie. If so, go to the logs tab and click the copy button on the right hand side and paste the logs here . Ideally in spoiler tags. Sent to you from me with datalove

Air staff, if you allow any moron to publish FUD and bullshit your forum will get unreadable sooner or later. You should not allow publication of openly manifest misinformation and FUD. I have seen too many forums become unreadable for unmoderated trolls and retards. Either anonymousjoe ignores the basics of bitcoin and writes randomly for plain stupidity, or we have ultimate lack of good faith here. Air Staff frequently stop people from posting, for exactly those reasons though. So don't worry Sent to you from me with datalove

Ability to Purchase more connections!
LZ1 replied to Minecraft2012's topic in Other VPN competitors or features
Wouldn't a lot of people like to have more connections available to them through AirVPN, by their simply paying a bit more on their present account? 3 sessions/account, max, can be too low for some, I would think. -- grok. Most definitely. But it's not happening. I've listed why, in my guide. Sent to you from me with datalove -
General questions abour AirVPN and using it over TOR
LZ1 replied to TheSeveredHead1983's topic in General & Suggestions
Hello ! Welcome to AirVPN. The rumours are true: this is one of the best VPNs if your concerns lie mainly within privacy and security (as opposed to for instance, just being able to watch Netflix). AirVPN is a logless service, so it officially keeps none. However seeing as logless can be a bit of a bussword and/or marketing term, it depends how deep you really go. But AirVPN always tries to achieve a state of being logless, to my understanding and they have a strong policy when it comes to this. Both because they're made up of hacktivists and activists, but also because it shines through in their commitment to privacy and security in their actions. For instance, you can check AirVPN policy on server locations and to dismissing otherwise significant organisations such as ICANN, on grounds that they're not being neutral and such. It should be noted that they do use website analytics to an extent, but that it's kept "in-house", versus say, simply using google analytics. AirVPN also runs its own support service, instead of outsourcing it to an external company and thereby sharing or potentially comprising user data/info; a nice attention to detail, if you ask me. I don't think this is realistic to ask. You'd best just try it yourself, as there's too many factors to consider, to give you a worthwhile estimate. However it's quite workable; meaning you don't have to have a terrible experience. Well, depending on how you look at it, "integrity" would be one special function of AirVPN lol. Because in the end, it doesn't matter how good your software is, if the company behind it is corrupt and/or inept. The Air software, called Eddie, is exceedingly flexible. It's an OpenVPN wrapper, such that it gives a nice GUI interface for you to work with, in addition to some extra features that make life nice: easy changing of protocols,"Network Lock",connection details, customizeable client (custom directives and such) and much more.Free and Open Source Client, so that everyone can follow and contribute to Eddies development. Very good from a security POV too.Remote PortforwardingUncompromising security standards. So for instance, Air doesn't advertise that it supports PPTP like most other VPNs do, just to "add another one". It sticks to OpenVPN/AES etc.It maintains comparable security standards for its website and doesn't for instance have facebook or google plugins everywhere. It doesn't discriminate based on what protocol you're using, thus making P2P completely fine for AirVPN. Which not all VPNs do.High quality servers/connections, which is very important for maintaining a good service. But even more so, Air is open about its infrastructure.Just check their hardcore specs lol.Micro-routing for certain websites, such that regardless of which server location you connect to, you can still get access to the website. Such as if you wanted a French website, it wouldn't be necessary to connect to a French server to do so, if that website was supported under the micro-routing scheme. It's super nice. Yes of course, simply use Network Lock and/or configure your browser to avoid leaks; you can start by visting www.ipleak.net for this. I dare say you'll struggle to find a VPN service with a comparable attention to detail. For the remaining questions, you can check my guide in my signature, as it'll also help answer other things, as well as AirVPNs Own Tor Explanation. I've compiled a big list of things to look at, exactly for questions like yours. You can go for a 3 day trial if you ask nicely perhaps. Otherwise the bar to entry is very low and the only way you'll know if it works for you, is if you try it . "Completely anonymous" can also be a buzzword by the way, so watchout. However if you ask the Air Staff, they'll definitely say that it's possible to sign up for AirVPN whilst maintaining complete anonymity as to who you are, from Airs point of view, if you do things such as use Bitcoins during signup. As for Airs ability to listen to feedback, I'd say it's excellent. I did wish they were better when it came to answering what I thought to be issues regarding user friendliness, however they still take user feedback seriously: You can submit support tickets and you can select which type of ticket it is. One is specifically named "Feedback", so they're open to it. I've tried. The Staff account, which is the official voice of AirVPN, routinely posts answers to peoples problems on the forums and partake in discussion. There's an actual forum for listening to community wishes regarding funding of various projects! If you check the blocked sites or troubleshooting forums, you'll see Staff are quick to reply in a lot of cases. You can be 10000000% sure that if you have feedback regarding a security flaw you found, that it'll be investigated almost before you post lol. They take security extremely seriously. So I think you'll be quite satisfied - of course I can't know what you specifically mean about listening to "user input". The only downside to AirVPN is that: Can be too technical; especially if you're not into this stuff. However that's what my initial guide was meant to help correct. Doesn't support as many protocols as other VPNs and/or doesn't market itself that way, which can make it look inferior. But it means its "high security by default for all". Is a relatively small VPN and can therefore seem to have less server locations compared to others. However these aren't really so important if you're really conscious about security in my view and a lot of other VPNs use fake locations or insecure protocols anyway, just to "get another flag" or protocol, so to speak. It's a sad practice, but one that many unknowing customers fall for, in their search for a VPN which will encompass all their needs. But with Air, even if it might seem to have few or fewer locations, at least you can be certain they're the real deal. This is what I think makes Air the greatest: the integrity and openness. Because without those two, it won't really matter how many features you have, because in the end, you have to trust your provider and if they're corrupt, they can mess with you anyway. Air uses open software, maintains neutrality and very high in all networking matters and provides a ton of information about what they're seeing and their infrastructure. -
Hello ! If AirVPN is so good that a given corporation or government would bother to try to sabotage it, wouldn't that merely spur is on to further supporting it? :] But hey, if a corporation or state were to find security holes in AirVPN or its software, perhaps Air would be generous and give them 1 years free service ;D.

ANSWERED Windows XP: Route check keeps on failing
LZ1 replied to frentzen's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello! Now I don't mean to be rude when saying this, but I think you're honestly being unreasonable @buzzlightburger. 1 - XP is an ancient system. You can't honestly expect as much support for an OS so old and for it to come as swiftly as compared to newer releases IMO. Yet you got a reply fast anyway. 2 - You've already received a Staff reply within a couple of hours of the original post; which is exceedingly fast, when you consider that the Staff don't have to post and aren't here 24/7. 3 - Said Staff post was quick to offer a solution that they thought worked, but then edited their post to notify you that further investigation would be needed anyway. 4 - Yes you're a paying customer and that has to be respected. However as a paying customer, you also ought to place more trust in the fact that AirVPN is trying to help & be more patient. 5 - XP is notorious for being extremely unsafe, by this point. Hence why Staff likely questioned your use of security software like a VPN, when a compromised OS would nullify the VPN. Maybe you should look into Linux in a dual-boot or virtualised system. It's free, fast and functional. As well as more secure. However I don't know what you meant about less secure levels of encryption - AirVPN always strives to offer the best encryption possible, without sacrificing useability. -
Hello! Interesting thoughts. But I'm not sure which would surprise me more: that AirVPN was a honeypot or that the FBI actually had any skills whatsoever.

Hello ! Isn't Rand Paul the only Republican with a brain? Why is he even Republican? lol.

Hello ! Cool. I once read a post on a VPN review site which suggested that while many may sign up for AirVPN, relatively few actually renew their subscription - for whatever reason. I don't know how true this is, but it's an interesting thought to me.

A very limited number of them actually, which can be counted on one hand The traffic prices are extremely expensive in Poland, without actual reason, except monopoly. Operating costs are much higher than Germany, Netherlands, France. A 95th percentile option on a 1Gbit port will be around 400 Euros in a good datacenter, for example here: http://datahouse.pl/EN_22/get-the-quote-for-uniprocessor-servers-with-intel-xeon-processors-e3-and-e5.aspx Not to stomp on anyone's dick, but AirVPN pretty much adds servers whenever and wherever they can. If its not here already often times there is a damn good reason why, and Zhang888 will often be the first person to tell you exactly why. TL;DR: The question is never can they add servers, its why they have not added servers for that location. If its not there already its probably because it can't be done, or AirVPN isn't willing to foot the bill for it. Hello ! It's not just bills either, it's also ethics and user privacy/security concerns. It's one of the things I absolutely love about Air - the iron will they have when it comes to considering security.

Hello ! Those don't look like the full logs - it seems some of the initial information is missing. If you're on a campus, perhaps you should try going to the Protocols tab and try other protocols; in particular the SSL ones. Provided you're using the Stable version of Eddie, you could try out the Experimental version too, if all else fails . Just head to the download page and click "Other Versions".

Hello! AirVPN doesn't use PPTP, only OpenVPN, so that may be the issue . Sent to you from me with datalove

Hello! Perhaps you should try re-installing Eddie and/or changing your password on the site. You could perhaps also share an image of what you're seeing, if you want to . You should be able to open the program, type in your login details and then click Connect To Recommended Server. Sent to you from me with datalove

Hello! If you search the forum or refer to my guide, you can find answers to that question . It can't hurt to pick another country, but it really depends on what you're doing. Do remember to check ipleak and/or use network lock regardless though! Sent to you from me with datalove

How does Google know my true country?

How does Google know my true country?
LZ1 replied to ChrisHoot's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello! That's googles job, sadly. Are you logged in to any google accounts while searching? Are you also using Airs DNS servers? (Many an internet tips will refer you to googles DNS servers to speed things up). Are you using google chrome or Firefox? Plugged webRTC? (Or used network lock). In addition, do you make any attempts to block browser-based tracking, by using plugins like Ublock Origin? It's also possible to cross-contaminate, if for instance you're logged into your account, but then afterwards use AirVPN. Then they will know which IP also belongs to you; in that regard you can try change to still other servers . Sent to you from me with datalove -
Hello! Air works in China. At least Shanghai, which is one of the "greats" along with Beijing. Simply make sure you use SSL, in the protocol area. The speeds will probably be slow however. You could get obfsproxy and/or Tor installed on your machine too, in advance. It's true the Great firewall does block a ton of things. However it's not impossible to get through by any means . Air is a small provider and perhaps its veneer of techyness scares many people away and thus you don't hear it mentioned as much; yet tech-wise, Air is still superb. Air doesn't have a strong Asian presence I'd say, but it's still useable. Sent to you from me with datalove

Day 1 using AirVPN; terrible usenet DL speeds
LZ1 replied to KurtLongjohn's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hehe it's certainly a cause for many problems around here. Hence why the aforementioned experimental client comes with the latest TAP driver . However if you visit the stickied threads in the troubleshooting forum, you'll find links to other versions of the TAP driver, which you can try at your leisure . It's different which versions work best, from person to person. Sent to you from me with datalove -
Hello! It would be helpful if you could share the complete logs. However if, as I understand it, the server you're connected to has high packet loss, why don't you try and change server to see if anything improves? . If there's package loss, then the communication between your client and the server is probably getting disrupted and hence you get errors; that's my take anyway, haha. I wonder why you don't use Eddie, but that's just me being curious. Sent to you from me with datalove

Day 1 using AirVPN; terrible usenet DL speeds
LZ1 replied to KurtLongjohn's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello ! Welcome to AirVPN . Have you tried the latest experimental client? You could perhaps do so on OSX. -
Well as with anything, they do follow. It's just that they don't say much if they have nothing real to add. That's my guess anyway. When it comes to Netflix, it's quite out of Airs control, as Netflix has been blocking VPNs for some time now. Ideally of course, we'd have access easily, but it's hard to accomplish. If you search a bit, or check my guide in the blocked sites sub-forum, you'll see that Air Staff have commented on this issue many times already . Sent to you from me with datalove
