Hello! I doubt it, but if you were able to, you would need to go through support at any rate .
  2. Hello! What platform is this on, exactly? If it didn't work uninstalling Eddie the regular way, maybe you can try a program like Ccleaner. I assume you used Network Lock when running Eddie. Which is the only way I can see that your connection is still off, after resetting DNS. So please try resetting your firewall rules too. If you use Eddie again, it's important to shut it down through its own menus, so that it can restore settings properly .
  3. Hello! I'm not familiar with the app, but you could check its settings to see if there's any options for port-forwarding. If so, it would be a simple matter. Are you using Network Lock? If so, did you try disable it and run Eddie, then see if the app can connect? You could also just use Eddie in a VM and thus your host machine which runs the Amazon app, would be able to maintain its connection. One can also say that since it "refuses" to work through Eddie, that this means Eddie is doing its job right .
  4. It has been written by Air staff that tls-crypt is coming soon. Hello! And the most recent update, for those interested, is that it'll be here fully in a month or so!
  5. Here's the Beta thread, there's no beta subforum, apologies for ambiguity. You could just link to this thread if you want; at this point it's more to help keep it collected in one place and not because Staff didn't probably already notice this thread . Thanks for running the command too. At least those errors are some hint.
  6. Cool. Maybe it's just a GUI problem, so did you consider trying airvpn -cliin the terminal? This all certainly sounds like something worth posting in the Eddie Beta thread, once there's more information; at least we may be able to see if you go through a proper connection sequence. Also, which DS are you using? If it's Wayland, that can also be a cause for some issues, but since you said it worked in the past, I doubt it. (Just working in the dark here without logs, so I'm counting anything I can think of). Maybe he got Logs because he's using Manjaro, which while based on Arch, isn't all the same either and as such neither are the ways Eddie acts for you, I suppose . If you wanted to enable the Preferences>Logging option, you could also download an earlier client that worked for you and enable it. Then upgrade again. The setting should remain in the Air.xml By the way, Staff, it doesn't seem like there's an entry for enabling logging through cli. If that's the case, could that be added please? Thank you.
  7. Hello! Please try setting the protocol to TCP and then reconnecting to a new location, each time you change protocols. That's the first thing. You can also check the protocol in use, in the Eddie Stats tab. Otherwise please try these things, in the order they're written: Ensure you're properly connected to your network, whether through Wi-Fi or a wired connection.Restart the client, by closing it through its own menus and then restarting it again; sometimes it fixes curl issues.Go to Eddie Preferences>Advanced>Uncheck "Check if Air Tunnel works". Then try connect to a location. You can also try unchecking "Check Air DNS" in Preferences>DNS.You can also try switching off IPv6 on your TAP adapter, by going to Control Panel>Networking>Network Adapters>Clicking TAP adapter>Right-click>Properties>Uncheck IPv6.The Beta client is also possible to try, in the end . But I think it's really good you tried those things first. No affection for SSL/SSH and different locations though?
  8. Hello! That was quite unintelligible. I suggest you submit a support ticket.
  9. Hello! I see Microscopium on my list, but I'm using the Beta - although I doubt that should matter. Maybe try upgrading? Did you make sure you didn't blacklist the US as a region? Maybe you can try going to Eddie Preferences>Advanced>Set lists to update each minute, to see if it appears. (I don't know how often "Automatic" is).
  10. Hello! For that bit at least, you can go to qBittorents Tools/Preferences>Advanced>Bind to Tun0 interface. Then it won't do anything if Eddie goes down.
  11. You may be able to extract some more logs if you go to Eddie Preferences>Logging. Maybe you should try reinstalling the client, but this time with stunnel as well, before starting. You could also try out a portable release . It may also be suitable to post in the corresponding client Beta thread, if this persists.
  12. Is that the entire log from Eddie>Logs tab? It would be useful to see what Eddie is actually doing.
  13. Not a problem, thank you for taking the time to report the issue(s) . If you find any more while using the Beta, then please report them in the Beta thread. This link may help you find Staff content easier.
  14. Hello! You can either look into your power settings, which may or may not work for you or follow the below instructions to edit the Windows Registry: Type regedit in "run" or the Start search box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor. Now go to following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop In right-hand pane under Desktop, right-click on an empty white background area and create a new String and call it "AutoEndTasks" without the quotes. After creating it, click it and set its value to 1. Then close regedit, restart your computer and see if programs shut down as you want. You can also open notepad and type some gibberish into it, if you want to test it.Please tell me if it works for you . I'm not sure if there's a specific setting you could change for only Eddie, so needless to say, this change will affect all programs trying to stop a shut down. Please do be aware that editing the Windows registry is risky business if you don't know what you're doing and that by changing a setting like this, you could potentially lose data if you accidentally start a shut down. For these reasons, it's smart to make a backup of your registry before making any changes.
  15. Hello! You may find this FAQ useful in that case. With this man page perhaps particularly useful. It can sometimes also be useful to uncheck "Check Air Tunnel Works", if the DNS setting alone doesn't do the trick. Also, you may benefit from trying out the TCP 443 protocol too . Also, welcome to AirVPN !
  16. Hello! You probably enabled Network Lock, yes? Either disable it and browse without it or make sure to close Eddie down through its own internal menus, so that it goes through a proper shutdown procedure. But also, your account is quite old, so it's possible your client is too. So for good measure, please head to the download page and download the latest Eddie client.Or check Eddie's About page, to see which release yours is . You may also wish to add or delete DNS entries yourself.
  17. And yet there's nothing wrong with Persei. If anything, Aquila is the one with the logged line problems at some points and yet you're fine, which can just as well mean the issue was something on your end. The reason it has faster speeds is most likely due to your specific network conditions, in terms of hardware, ISP, peering and so on and not because there's something wrong with other locations. If it was the fault of Air, don't you think many more of the current 94 users would be writing about it? The forums are certainly quickly flooded by near-identical posts when and if it's something on Airs end. I ran the same test as you and it's green on my end. Please try: Connect to Persei. In qBittorent>Tools>Preferences>Advanced>Optional IP Address to Bind to (requires restart)>Click the dropdown and you should see an address. Click it.In the same area, in the box on top, under "Network Interface (requires restart)" set it to tun0, which should be possible. Then click "Apply".Then try the TCP test in the port-forwarding area on this site. It should be green. You'll see it saying "Checking port XXXX for internal IP 10.x.x.x completed." If you ensure the 10.x address is the same as in the point 2 dropdown, it'll show green in the TCP test. But if qBittorent is restarted, that address may change and thus the TCP test doesn't show as green on the site. Which you actually alluded to in your second post, but just on your router. Did you not change any settings in qBittorent, after installing it? Because you would for instance need to disable things like NAT-PMP again, as you did in Utorrent. At any rate, there's a guide to setting up qBittorent properly, that I suggest you take a look at, in the link in my signature. Just so we don't need to repeat it all here. On the other hand, if you're getting the performance you want while torrenting, regardless of all of this, then you may as well not forward any ports I suppose, but merely go to ipleak.net, download the test torrent and check for leaks. If there's no leaks of your real IP, then you're essentially in the clear anyway . I also don't think you answered gonk regarding if you use third party security software or not. You seemed to only say you hadn't updated any. This is also a really bold statement to make, looking back at this thread, which has been running for 6 months. As Air support has been contacted and you made some progress, I think it's safe to stop here. Locked.
  18. Hello! It sounds like a protocol which is just a re-branded SSL, that Eddie already supports. But it's a proprietary technology of theirs and the subsequent lack of clarity about what they're using, is in itself an argument against them . Other companies in this industry offer this kind of thing as well. Special "camouflage" protocols/systems. It's just for marketing purposes. I went around their site and if the goal is to compare it to Air, the result is quite harsh on Hidester. It seems there's many inconsistencies: They'll say they use Piwik for internal analysis, which is good. Air does too. But then they'll say they use XYZ third party companies and that these handle customer data, anyway. They'll say they offer encrypted proxies and then say their proxies are unencrypted and not all their responsibility. Air runs no proxies. They'll say they don't keep traffic logs, while using other more egregious forms of tracking on their site, such as Hotjar web pixels, google fonts and the aforementioned data-sharing. Air has piwik, that's it.They'll say a lot of pretty baseless things about other VPNs, such as "we don't overload our servers like others do", under "Top Speed". Air makes no such claims, because it's not helpful; possibly defamatory too. They'll talk about their location deployment policies and then still add Russia as a location, which is a dubious choice. I think Airs policy is much more consistent then. They'll say their servers don't restrict and yet elsewhere say P2P is available on "selected" servers. There's no apparent DMCA policy either, besides only using specific countries for P2P, where they might not get a DMCA notice. Likewise, there's no restriction, but they throttle those who consume too much. There's too many things to mention. To my eyes, it also doesn't look so appealing how unabashed they are about affiliate marketing: "High Conversion Rate = More Money!", which means few, if any, reviews about them are trustworthy. They spread myths as well, such as by going so far as saying users will be "Hackerproof", by using their product. I think that's a dangerous misconception, among many. Other worrying things, headed under "VPN Service" in the legal section include: In terms of technical features, I think it's a real shame they don't do better: I think it's quite strange that they offer all sorts of proxies, camo-stuff, browser fingerprinters, password-generators(!), 2-3 kinds of leak tests, but no DNS of their own, for their users. They actually instruct users to consider using Google's DNS, among others, which has to be a big no-no. There's sparse information about their client and that means it's probably proprietary software. Although if the pictures are to be trusted, it looks nice enough to me, in terms of simple design. They don't elaborate on their killswitch and it doesn't seem like it can do too much or how it's implemented. There's no port-forwarding options, from what I can see. There's no support for Tor or much else, in their client. But to their credit, they don't seem to use protocols such as PPTP.Their software/company doesn't support routers. But again, to their credit, they offer 5 connections per account, which is good. On the other hand, their ToS says you can only make one account, as far as I can see.Their software requires MacOS 10.5 or higher, but when it comes to Windows, they simply write "Microsoft Windows". Which presumably means their client also runs reliably on Windows XP, Windows 98 and maybe DOS too?I think it's poor practice to supply a Proxy list on their own website and then list in their legal section that these proxies aren't from the company itself and aren't encrypted. You can also find their answers in TorrentFreaks 2018 questionnaire: 1. We do not log any information that can link a VPN IP-address and timestamp to a specific user. We do not collect connecting IP addresses from our members when they are using Hidester VPN Service. 2. Our company is incorporated under the name of Hidester Limited. We are incorporated in Hong-Kong, as this country does not have any data retention laws or regulations. 3. As explained above, we do measure total traffic volume (incoming and outgoing) by our members on a daily basis, to avoid excessive consumption of bandwidth by abusive users that would significantly reduce quality of service for other members. So far, we do not have had any problem with any our members. 4. Our website analytics tool is Piwik and is self-hosted on our server. This tool records information about hidester.com website visitors, and is not linking in anyway website visitors with our Subscribed Members. 5. Our P2P-enabled servers are opened in countries known by us to not process DMCA or local equivalent. So we in case we receive such enquiry, we simply apologize that we CANNOT provide further information regarding our Member as we do not record the data needed to link traffic sources and destinations. 6. We will reply to such a court order that we do not know which users are using our servers and that we are not legally obliged to do so. This has not happened so far. 7. All P2P-enabled servers are identified in the server list window of Hidester VPN application by a small double arrow icon on the right side of the server name in the list. Some servers are not P2P-enabled for legal reasons (hosting countries could force us to shut them down in case of court summon). 8. We are using Paymentwall, PayPal, and CoinPayments as our payment providers. Paymentwall and PayPal collect payers IPs and we cannot guaranty full anonymity for our Members using Paymentwall (Credit Card) or PayPal. For full anonymity even at account creation level, we recommend our Members to use CoinPayments with many cryptocurrencies of their choice to ensure full anonymity. But once again, our NO LOG on traffic data does not allow us to link data traffic sources and destinations, which was the cornerstone of our VPN software development on all computer applications (Mac / Windows / Linux). 9. Our most secure VPN protocol is OpenVPN, running with an AES-256-CBC TLS 2048 bits Encryption. We recommend using this one for torrenting, except for Members located in censored countries, where CamoVPN might provide a more stable connection. 10. We provide a kill switch function, as well as a DNS leak protection when using CamoVPN and OpenVPN protocols. 11. We use third-party hosting providers VPS servers. We mostly use well-recommended hosting providers which exist for a long time on the market. We use OpenDNS and Google DNS servers for our services. 12. We have servers located in over 33 countries, the full list is available here. We do not offer virtual locations But I commend them for a pretty website and for offering their software on many platforms including Linux. Taking all this into account, I think it's frankly ambitious of them to offer a "Business VPN". I wonder which business would do this. If I were them, I would suggest they slim down their product and focus on getting a few core things right, such as not using proxies, making their software open and following good practices for security. As they say in their conclusion on WebRTC, "you’re only as anonymous as the systems you use", now isn't that true .
  19. Thank you for posting Staff and it was great you posted the path to the other solution, meticulously as always, as I keep forgetting the steps . It's the first I see of this entry though:
  20. Hello! Please: Ensure you're properly connected to your network. Whether through WiFi or a Wired connection.Go to Eddie's preferences>Protocols>Change to TCP 443.Go to Windows Internet and Sharing>Network Adapters>Right-click each adapter and go to its properties and uncheck IP6.In the same place, click the TAP adapter and disable it. Then re-enable it. Then connect with Eddie again. This is a quick fix for TAP issues.Check no third-party security software could be interfering.Otherwise you're welcome to try the experimental client. Instructions for how, can be found in the link in my signature .
  21. Hello! I think this thread has run its course and is quite old, but will keep popping up each time someone answers the poll. Naturally, most users want more locations, but as outlined in this thread by the community and elsewhere by Air, there's many requirements Australia must pass. While there's no known public plans for Australia to be added to the lists, it's worth remembering that another location desired by many, Japan, wasn't possible only a few short years ago, but now is. Locked.
  22. They would also see a MAC address - which isn't great either and arguably worse, in terms of tracking. But regardless, simply change your PC name . In a casual setting, this sort of thing isn't something to really worry about though. If you worry about this, it would be natural to worry about Windows next, as it sends a lot of information to MS.
  23. Hello! It would be helpful with some technical logs or any errors Minecraft is showing you, as we're otherwise working in the dark. But it seems you're not alone. You could perhaps use Eddie in a VM and browse through that. Then keep the host computer running your ISP IP, for playing Minecraft .
