  1. Thank you. When I downloaded the Beta client 2.14.2 on Windows 8, I also started getting this error: What worked was turning off Network Lock and reconnecting. I couldn't find any other solution to it. You may want to post in the Beta client thread about that error, so it gets addressed. Update: Go to your device manager, find the TAP adapter and click uninstall. Including any drivers when the prompt shows a tickbox. Then, while Network Lock is enabled, connect to a location. Then Eddie will install the tunnel driver for you . Works for me. I was getting this too. Please go to Control Panel>Network & Internet>Network & Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings>TAP Adapter Properties>Configure>Advanced>Media Status>Set to Always Connected>Click OK. If there's then further issues with this, a quick fix is to disable and re-enable the TAP adapter. You may be able to remedy this by going to Eddies menu>Preferences>Advanced>Microsoft Only>Disable IPv6 at OS level. By the way @Staff if you're reading, do you think it would be good to install TAP utilities by default in the future? At one point the logs stated that we "Should be able to go to Start>All Programs>Utilities>TAP Windows>Add new TAP adapter" and do stuff. But for me at least, it wasn't possible to find any "Utilities" or TAP stuff in Windows, until I went into Eddie's download folder and installed "TAP utilities" during the installation process. After that, Windows immediately found TAP-related stuff.

Hello! If you trust the comments, it's not a particularly good thing. To me it seems hyped. Somewhere along the line, it's probably also trying to capitalize on the recent data breaches/scandals.
  3. We can't help you if you don't supply any logs. The issue may appear to be the same, while the causes are different. If you don't know how, you're welcome to check the guide in my signature. It sounds like you enabled Network Lock - in which case the software is doing what it's supposed to do: no Air connection, no connection at all for you, to stop leaks.
  4. It's quite possible they're throttling. It's possible to tweak traffic shaping to only happen in certain conditions; hence one possible reason why you initially had good regular speeds, but then had issues with torrenting. It's bad practice, but some ISPs do it. Here's some supporting information on SSL and SSH as well, if you're technically inclined. I'm glad it worked anyway - enjoy yourself & welcome to AirVPN !
  5. That's quite possible, but do keep in mind that it's possible to experience the same error, but for different reasons. Therefore, it's usually best if you post supporting information as well . Best of luck though!
  6. Thank you for the detailed response. Yes that's asymmetric. Did you try changing the protocols? Remember to re-connect to a location, after making a protocol change, for it to take effect. Also, is this a wired or wireless connection?
  7. Hello! I don't see any logs attached. Could you please check again? When uploading, it's easy to think that things are attached, but there's one extra step to submit. Is it a 100Mb symmetric connection? Did you try different locations? Some are thought to be particularly good, such as the Netherlands. Are you using well-seeded torrents? (With a high seed to leech ratio). Did you try lowering your global connections? It can help sometimes. Did you install any third-party security software? Are you using the latest release of qBittorent? (You can find the release numbers on their website.) You may also check out helpful threads like this one, if you didn't already.
  8. Those are some errors I'm not familiar with. Your best bet right now would most likely be to try the experimental Eddie client, if you didn't do so already. Then kindly report back. You can find instructions in my signature if you don't know where to get it. I don't recall if you're already using the latest stable release or not.
  9. Hello! The fix is to not use ad-infested "shareware freemium junk" as a wise man once said, but only FOSS software. So please consider switching to something such as qBittorent. Guides on configuring it can likewise be found in the link in my signature.
  10. How do you do this? I can't find a guide online Hello! Welcome to AirVPN! Here's one potential solution. This is assuming you're using the Air Eddie client with Network Lock ON: Please go to Eddie's Menu>Preferences>Network Lock>Tick "Allow detected DNS". Then hit Save. Please then go to Routes, further up in the same sidebar. Click the green + icon and write mcoapi.minecraft.net. Then click once in the "Notes" field to see an IP address appear for that domain. Hit Save. Do number 2 again, but with other domains: authserver.mojang.com and potentially also minecraft.net. Please ensure all are set to "Outside" the tunnel. When all are added, hit the Save button for the Routes window itself and re-connect to the same or a different country location. If you don't, the changes won't take effect and is an easy thing to miss. Then refresh the website in question and/or try to login. If there's still issues, do remember to try different servers too. That might do it. It certainly did for me, after a substantial amount of fiddling around. I only created an account specifically for this purpose, so I assume if it works for a new entrant, it'll work for someone who already has an account. Like the OP, I was getting much the same errors about "Invalid" this or that. Most of all, I got an error saying "Oops! We couldn't process your request" or something. Only do this for sites you trust, as this will expose your real IP. Best of luck Note: He was saying you shouldn't use nslookup in the terminal. Such as "nslookup mcoapi.minecraft.net" because you would get a specific IP address and that's no use, when that address changes all the time. Therefore, in the routes window, it's best to just specify the domain name itself, to account for any changes. Not to mention, some domains, like minecraft.net, use many different IP addresses and therefore it's impractical/impossible to write them all. Further, we enabled "Allow detected DNS", as you would otherwise get a warning.
  11. Staff did mention making the auto-selection more intelligent in the future, but I can't find the post for you at this moment sorry. Otherwise there's the usual FAQ on how Eddie selects. I don't think setting the scoring rule to speed makes any difference, as that's only for how things are ordered in the list.
  12. LZ1, as I answered you in post #9, "By 'slow', I mean the network connection coming through the Netherlands VPN server is slow: web page loading, YouTube videos, download speeds—everything!" I don't see why changing my MTU would improve things for my intermittent connections with the Netherlands country config that are slow, when my speeds are fine all the other times, and always fine with my Romania country connections. (By "country connection," I mean the AirVPN connection config that chooses for me among the several VPN servers within that country.) Wouldn't the fact that my robust connections most of the time (not to mention also no problems whatsoever when not using VPN) rule-out an improper MTU setting? But if you think I'm nevertheless not understanding the nature of the MTU setting even in light of no problems most of the time, I will change mine and test if you say so. go558a83nk, I'm sorry, but I said nothing of the sort. You're putting words in my mouth. It's as if you didn't even read the very data points I made that you quoted in your reply, or at least your insults don't reflect a recognition of taking into account the situation as I described, viz., if the sluggishness (intermittently) occurs if and only if I'm making an AirVPN Netherlands country connection—and never with other country connections or under other circumstances not involving VPN—then that strongly suggests that something's amiss, which very well may not be AirVPN's fault, but to which AirVPN might be a catalyst, and I'd like to find out what's going on. I don't know where you get a demand from me that AirVPN "fix the internet," except from bad motives on your part. I think that since you're still experiencing issues, that it's worth trying out any potential solution that lands on your desk. Issues with websites loading is otherwise exactly an issue MTU fixes can help with. Besides, it can't hurt.
  13. Hello! This is absolutely fantastic Staff/Paolo. Thank you for taking the time to write that up, with the usual clarity of mind. This is what makes it worth staying here. I saw that post a long time ago too and I know it has been circulated widely in some places, so it's absolutely stellar that you decided to reply with your usual savagery. Well done! I was surprised you didn't mention that you recently made it possible to accept Bitcoin directly, as well.
  14. Which kind of download are we talking about here? In-browser stuff or torrenting? If it's downloads of webpages for example, you could take a look at the mssfix.
  15. I'm not sure if there's a straightforward way to do it. But in practice anything can be done if you get deep enough into firewall software use. Maybe something can be done with the task scheduler. Also, this Staff post confirms Eddie is doing what is intended.
  16. Oh it's not that you can't point out where others go wrong, it just needs to be accurate/truthful and there's plenty where that came from. Otherwise I agree there's 2-3 companies one always sees .
  17. Hello! Please ensure you're using the most up to date stable release of Eddie, to fix any bugs. What release are you on? You can go to Eddies menu>About>See which version yours is. In the Beta, the number will be shown on bottom of the sidebar. What you seem to be describing is expected from Eddie I think, since closing it down through its own menus, makes it restore prior firewall rules. It was a bug in prior releases, which made it not restore rules. This sort of routinely flooded the forums with people wondering why they were left without a workable connection, when Eddie closed down. I think the startup firewalling works differently on GNU/Linux as well and thus there's no leakage. I assume you ticked "Enable Network Lock at startup". Which platform are you on specifically?
  18. Hello! I'm not one to defend Nord, but we must keep things accurate, including about competitors, as it's potentially defamatory otherwise and that's not permitted on these boards. Air says something similar too: Airs response to this "military" thing would be: Whether or not Nord is aware of the same technicalities I of course can't say. But it's at least worth being aware of the origins of some of this kind of terminology.
  19. Hello! Please take a look at Eddie>Menu>Preferences>OVPN directives. You can then manually type in commands in the custom directives box or point to an external file below. You can read an FAQ about it here. Topic moved from General & Suggestions forum.
  20. Strange. Did you try un-installing, restart and then going with the installer instead?
  21. The issue may be the same, but the causes different. For that reason, it's best you supply any and all logs that you can please .
  22. Assuming I'm not doing the wrong thing running Eddie-UI.exe under mono, I get this message everytime with the latest portable-mono from the site. Please look here, as it seems to be the same. It's not particularly helpful, but at least you're not the only one.
  23. They can keep them all they want. All I wanted a straight answer..... Do you offer static IP addresses for customers? YES/NO If yes What are the plans that you have for static IP address? Then the answer is "No", if the static IPs referenced in the links to the Staff posts in my last two replies aren't what you were looking for. There's certainly no history of Air letting single users get access to specific addon-features either, that I'm aware of. (In case you wanted to pay a little extra to get a static IP, like some other companies offer). It's no use sharing the contents of your support tickets with us here and I don't know which custom plans support may be referencing. Perhaps there's a misunderstanding, in that they're talking about the plans they offer, paired with my prior Staff post about static IPs. Following that logic, it's correct that they do offer "custom plans with static IPs". But you're thinking of an add-on feature of some sort I suppose. Since it wouldn't make sense otherwise, as all Air customers get access to the same things when they buy a plan. If and when Air does make a change of this kind, there's a good chance you'll hear about it in the announcements forum along with the rest of us. Now that was 8 posts from you in quick succession(now deleted). It's understandable if you didn't get the answers you were looking for, so I think the safest bet is for you to assume it's all a "No" and that there's no new/current plans they wish to share. Topic locked for now.
  24. Perhaps because they might argue that they do offer a static one already, if only you keep connecting to the same server and that this is sufficient for 99% of users. I can't comment on what support has told you, but if you didn't find the answer satisfactory, you could always submit a new ticket, wherein you rephrase your question. I didn't hear anything about customs plans. But then Air doesn't tend to share too many of its designs on the future. You should be careful not to confuse uncertainty about plans, with evasiveness .
  25. Hello! I second what peldx said - Air is in a different league entirely, from those three. Since there's no Air client for Android, it's outside of Airs responsibility which apps you use. But Android Connect is not recommended. But this client is, by the process of elimination. Besides that, regardless of whether you use Eddie on the desktop and something else on Android, it's good practice to take other steps to increase your security, so you don't rely 100% on one product.
