  1. All, So far good results. I signed up for AirVPN while the Phoenix, AZ server was listed as down. It has since been removed entirely. I would have liked to have a local server, and that's partially chose airVPN. Client works well on both Windows and Linux. Works well on cell traffic in OpenVPN for Android as well. (You need to ensure it's set up correctly for cell traffic to route properly though, default settings do not accomplish a correct route) I'll be checking for DNS leaks and packet tracing some test traffic over the next few days to really see how well the tunnels work. One typical speed test below from the provided test on the website. Overall 8/10. Down: 27.881 Mbit/s Out, 23.576 Mbit/s In (84%), 50MB - Up: 1.891 Mbit/s Out, 1.775 Mbit/s In (93%), 20MB - Date: Sat, 05 Dec 2015 19:47:20 GMT - Buffers: 50MB/20MB - Laps: 3, Time: 360.16 secs --- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ping statistics --- 32 packets transmitted, 31 received, 3% packet loss, time 31053ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 21.427/23.465/30.945/1.578 ms Client: Phoenix, AZ VPN Server: Alkes -Nick
  2. The current version of Eddie is 2.10.3 but the version of the source code on GitHub is 2.10.2 ? Am I right, or I'm missing something? )) Any plans to update to a current version?
  3. Hi there everyone! Today I was runnning netstat -nbt on CMD in Windows with the intent to get the IP address of a game server I was connected to. But as I scrolled down, I saw this: [skype.exe] TCP 10.4.50.209:4855 xxx.xx.x.xxx:8080 ESTABLISHED The xxx.xx.x.xxx is my real IP address (I was running this command while connected to AirVPN). I wasn't sure if this was normal for my IP to appear here, so I ask everyone here. Is it normal to be seeing my real IP address in netstat -nbt? If not, how can I prevent it?
  4. It is possible to configure airvpn from the settings app on ios instead of using the openvpn app? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I have million of questions and also looking for step by step guide. im running mac os x. I run Tor Bundle 1st, then start airvpn client in tor mode (pref->protocol->tor) and when i check my ip in Tor browser and firefox (all stock settings) i have 2 different stories: in Tor browser i have Tor exit node ip in firefox i have my exit vpn ip 1) so what is really happening? 2) does firefox go tor then to vpn? 3) how to check tor "stage" if it even happens(or i have to socks proxy localhost??) 4) why does tor browser "bypasses vpn"? 5) how to set everything go smooth? 6) is it possible to work is tor browser? Additional 6) how to avoid "VPN fingerprint" and "double ping" warnings when checking anonymity (i've read that ssl or ssh protocols should be used....but then i'm not able to use Tor?(i'm not able to choose 2 protocols at the same time in GUI) or how to add socks 5 proxy to the chain as an exit node while still using Tor as a 1 stage) Looking for your replies if you have a link to a "noob" manual, I would greatly appreciate it!!! (I wonder why there are no standard airvpn manual on how to do it step-by-step)
  6. Yesterday I was running airvpn over tor with socks5 (vip72). I had no issues, iplocation.net had my location pinned as the location of my socks5 proxy. But today I am running the same setup but iplocation.net still has my location pinned as the location of the airvpn server. ( we'll say airvpn server is somewhere in WA, and socks5 is somewhere in Texas) The only change I have made since yesterday is that I switched my DNS servers to Comodo rather than my ISP. Would this be enough to change the differing results?
  7. Good evening, my question is this. We know that it's possible to connect to AirVPN through TOR; for example, by using the address and the port given by Vidalia TOR. This produce a situation like that: TOR (Vidalia) > AirVPN (some server) > Internet AirVPN don't know the original IP and encrypt the contents, so, neither government or service provider can trace or retrieve data, also outside of an SSL (https) connection. Anyway, AirVPN know the IP where you want to connect and this last know your ip from a server of AirVPN. My question is this: what if I open a Tor Bundle Browser after connecting to AirVPN through TOR management by VIDALIA? It's a scheme like this: Tor (Vidalia) > AirVPN (some server) > Tor Browser Bundle > Internet I just see that it's possible, at least, on Linux Debian. Apparently, the data go through AirVPN in the Tor Bundle and so, also through VIDALIA. Maybe this is a more secured way of working? At least because Internet don't know the IP of AirVPN proxy, you can access to .onion website and the data are still encrypted by the VPN. Or I fall wrong in some points? Nobody try something like this? Thank you
  8. I'm having problems connecting tor -> vpn I'm quite flummoxed as to why considering when I first set it up it worked perfectly fine. I have barely touched the settings in the vpn and and problems connecting through tor started occurring after I switched to automatic protocol (which also worked fine and still does) and then back to using the tor protocol. When I test the tor protocol it tells me the test is successful however when I attempt to connect it gets stuck on checking authorization while flashing to connecting the the vpn server every few seconds and then back to checking authorization. I have left it running like this for probably over 15 minutes it just keeps flashing back and forth without connecting. I'm pretty stumped on how to solve this considering the test for the protocol comes back successful.
  9. Hello, I'm using Debian Linux with AirVPN client over Tor network (with Vidalia control panel). Finally, he can connect and verify login&password, but fail on connect to server. 11. Hi, I have a problem with Airvpn + voip. My setup goes as: Android with OpenVPN (in config is selected best latency server and UDP option) > Zoiper android VOIP app which connects to callwithus.com voip service. I choosed airvpn for best speed recommendations. VPN I had before was slower and I could not call with vpn/voip. Voip is configured well (I guess, maybe needed some options for VPN) because if I turn off VPN, voip works just fine. Anyone has experience, suggestions, solutions how to make this setup working? Because for now it just dead silence - connection speed is too low I guess. Thanks, criminaldamage
  12. Hello, I can be online only with airvpn, if I'm not connected to airvpn I can't connect my pc to internet. I've windows 10, and I never used Network Lock. Thanks for help and sorry for my english.
  13. hi there, I have technical issues with skype video calls always when connected over an airvpn server. the connection establishes and I have a couple of moments before the connection freezes and skype goes into re-connection mode. During this time I also cannot browse other internet sites (seems the connection is re-configuring or something). When not surfing over the vpn I don't have these problems. I am using: win7 64bit latest skype version openvpn 2.3.6 comodo firewall (configured as you described) does it have anything to do with certain ports or something? cheers
  14. Goal: get https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api to find my local Sonos devices Mac: running AirVPN, Local IP: 10.0.1.150 Sonos: IP: 10.0.1.19 When AirVPN is not connected, and I run the node server from the URL above, the server quickly finds the Sonos speaker and connects. However, once I connect to AirVPN, the server endlessly loops with: scanning for players in ip 10.0.1.150 scanning for players in ip 10.4.18.107 <-- AirVPN IP If I go to AirVPN --> Preferences --> Routes --> "Not specified routes go: Outside the VPN tunnel," it works. However, I know that effectively stops the benefit of AirVPN. So, if I set AirVPN --> Preferences --> Routes --> Not specified routes go: Inside the VPN tunnel, and set an IP Range of 10.0.1.0/24, it does NOT work and endlessly loops scanning. Am I understanding the routes table correctly? I'm so not privy of CIDR formats, but I think I understand that 10.0.1.0/24 means 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.254, correct?
  15. 16. I'm relatively new to VPNs and I'm having a hard time finding out what I should do about a few general settings in my torrent client. I use Windows 7 and qBittorrent, and my settings so far are as follow: qBittorrent is only bound to the interface used by the VPN;UPnP/NAT-PMP in qBittorrent is disabled;qBittorrent's listening port is set to the port I opened in the AirVPN web client settings;at the router level, UPnP is disabled and no ports are forwarded;Network Lock (automatic mode) in the AirVPN client is enabled;a proxy is not being used -- all traffic is simply being routed through the VPN;and lastly, the AirVPN client has mostly default settings. What I should do about the uTP, DHT, PEX, and Local Peer Discovery settings in qBittorrent? Currently I have them all disabled, but is it safe to enable them, or do I run the risk of having my actual IP exposed to ths swarm if I enable some of them?
  17. first of all im not fluenty in english so its really hard to understand what some thread are tellin me to do, on top of this im not a computer geek i dont know nothin about how stuff works this is all new to me. the reason i want a vpn is so i can torrent safely, thats all. i dont want the isp to know that im downloadin stuff in torrent site, ive had already receive a letter about 5 years ago, i already moved to another state i dont want to happen again here, can somebody explain to me the steps to do this like im 5 years old? i want to buy airvpn, after i buy it what happens next? i saw a youtube video and i saw that there were two thing that airvpn gave the guy,, airvpn and openvpn why two? and which one do i used? also i read about fordward port to my bittorrrent client i dont whats that or p2p or protocol. can i do this succesfully if im usin my isp router? just tell me how to get it to work so i cant safely download some torrent which i rarely do but when i do i like it to be safe. thanks so much, all this is like a new language to me lol
  18. Hi, Recently I re-used an old Netgear WNR3500 v2 I had lying around and put dd-wrt on. I followed the tutorial on here and got it all working :-) So my network at home is as followed *Cisco 867VAE-K9 as my VDSL router - connects to my ISP and offers DHCP for local devices. *Netgear WNR3500 plugged into Cisco router I use the range 192.168.0.0/24 for my home network such that :- 192.168.0.254 - ISP gateway via my CISCO - so most devices use this 192.168.0.251 - VPN tunnel gateway via Netgear - so any devices to use VPN point to this gateway and also change DNS server to be VPN DNS server etc. The Netgear's WAN port is configured to be 192.168.9.250 with its gateway pointing out to the CISCO on 192.168.0.254 My initial test is as below. Down: 17.289 Mbit/s Out, 6.271 Mbit/s In (36%), 20MB - Up: 6.585 Mbit/s Out, 3.183 Mbit/s In (48%), 20MB - Date: Sun, 13 Dec 2015 20:27:45 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 3, Time: 178.81 secs Does this setup seem ok, I think my speed is limited by the CPU in the router or could it be I just need to try a different server etc ? CPU ModelBroadcom BCM4716 chip rev 1 CPU Clock453 MHz Thanks !!
  19. I tried from different AirVPN servers (some NL, Sweden, FR and others) to visit wiki.debian.org but it says: ForbiddenYou are not allowed to access this! ---- It opens when I try it without AirVPN... also it opens via TOR...
  20. Dear support, I want to connect to AirVPN-Servers via SOCKS5 Server which supports UDP packets. So I added the line socks-proxy sockshost 1080 login.txt basic to my AirVPN-OpenVPN configuration file. Connection to SOCKS was successful, but not to your OpenVPN server: Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732339 UDPv4 link local: [undef] Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732453 UDPv4 link remote: [AF_INET]213.152.161.116:2018 WWWWW Do you block incoming SOCKS connections (perhaps from common SOCKS ports?) to your OpenVPN-Servers?
  21. I have used WIndows 10 on a previous laptop and had a lot of problems with this vpn client. When it did connect to a server, any website I went to it would act like it couldnt connect. Things like downloading a torrent would be no problem, just doing 2 things at once, wasn't gonna happen. So i went back to 8.1 with no issues. Recenetly got a new laptop with windows 10 installed :/ and my guess it's gonna act up the same way as before. So, is this a known issue with airvpn or is it just the mess that is called Windows 10?? If this doesn't work I figure i can downgrade to 8.1(maybe?) without destroying my recovery partition on my dell.Very frustrating! I have read somewhere that Windows 10 has issues with creating the 1 - 2 tunnels needed when using a vpn client with openvpn.Idk.Maybe someone knows more about this than i do. Gonna install the airvpn client again and hope it works.Any help would be appreciated.thanks
  22. Hello, I'm having a really weird issue. I initially had ufw setup, but my speeds were horrendous. Pings all worked well everywhere with good latency, but connecting (www, ssh, etc) to anything took forever! After trying many different servers I disabled my firewall, and BAM speeds were excellent. So I said screw it, lets try the network lock on the AirVPN GUI and there we go again with incredibly slow speeds. I'm running Ubuntu 15.10 if that matters, I'm all out of ideas any assistance would be appreciated as I really don't want to leave the firewall off.
  23. Hi all. I just signed up for service and am a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I am using Debian jessie, and have successfully installed the AirVPN client. How do I set up my torrent client (Transmission) and my browser to utilize AirVPN's services? Thanks!
  24. So I know this maybe over the top and a wee bit silly but what if you chained 2 VPNs together through virtualization (VPN 1 on host machine and VPN 2 on a virtual machine) but instead of running 1 virtual machine you installed a virtual machine inside of a virtual machine and installed VPN 2 inside that virtual machine thats installed inside the virtual machine then create another virtual machine seperate from the others and install pfsense and configure it and route the traffic through VM 2 (virtual machine inside the virtual machine) to VM 1 then back through the host? And of cousre run TOR too............ VPNception?
  25. Hey, Im having slow speed on any vpn server, halp. I changed already the buffer to 256kb but it didnt helped. I upgraded to win 10 and since then Im having this problem.
