  1. That's semantics. But I did say a couple, which regardless of whether English is European or not, clearly insinuates adding more languages. So do you actually have anything to add? I also did say "You might offer the website in german/dutch/french/whatever", which we could instead just do with the Eddie client. But I haven't received any response from Air surrounding this topic of translation or user-friendliness; hardly an acknowledgement either sadly. I'm more concerned about the user-friendliness issue, than the language issues. @giganerd Nice. Maybe you can help with the German one - maybe you can sneak in a call-to-action to use Posteo in the Eddie "About" section hahaha.
  2. Do a full system sweep with CCleaner and such while you're at it
  3. There are real challenges with that. You might offer the website in german/dutch/french/whatever, but you would have to force everyone to use english in the forums. Some people don't like it. To circumvent this, you can internationalize them. It's a very difficult step, too, since you need very big numbers of users using a given language to actually be effective. It also might separate the community, more or less. About spelling errors and the like, well, you can't force anyone to use 100% accuracy in grammar. The important thing in communication is understanding each other, anyway. A few typos or missing commas in a post don't impact this... there are exceptions, though... How about just making Eddie available in a couple of European languages perhaps? That seems like a smaller feat, but I could be wrong . Maybe the logs could still be in English, but the UI in the user-defined language. Although English would be the default perhaps. Just a thought. I agree we wouldn't want to separate the community. You're right I can't force anyone to write perfectly and I don't want to either. However it naturally looks better when things are accurately and correctly written. We wouldn't want the privacy policies to be unclear for instance, would we? Of course that's a legal example and so they've had laywers on the job. But the general point I'm trying to make, is that precise communication and attention to detail, can be every bit as important as that which is afforded the technical side of the business. Plus, now that I've laid the groundwork and/or am willing to work with Air to improve it, in a sub-forum meant for making suggestions, then I think it would be nice of Air to pay attention :]. But attention to detail in communication isn't just about accuracy. It's also about user-friendliness and considering the target audience, as I described with an example at the bottom of my OP, wherein things are clearly written in a way that is hostile to VPN beginners/newcomers; which isn't in Airs interest. I've proposed a way of serving both audiences, the technical and non-technical alike. So far, I haven't gotten any response to this, which is mildly disappointing, given I think it's one of the most glaring issues with AirVPN - again, respectfully.
  4. There's a few reasons why, which AirVPN also explained. Both links were in my guide too. If you scroll down to the "Community Threads Of Interest Section", you can find questions relating to other locations too.
  5. Hello ! AirVPN cannot guarantee that you won't permanently reside in that stage, so if you need help with that, you're out of luck!
  6. Have you tried the new one then? @internet_user That looks so sexy!
  7. Hello ! I didn't see this thread until now. If you read my guide, there's an explanation regarding connections in the "First Questions" section. No more connections are coming.
  8. Hello ! AHA! So THATS why it's called Eddie ! Very clever Staff! Nice Easteregg, hahahahaha. Good work. make sure to give that Dev lots of datalove. But you know, Staff, you never specified which interfaces or ports we should forward for this Datalove you're sending, so how do we receive it?! I mean, does love come in a TCP or UDP stream for instance? zhang had advice on that. Kind regards! @harry987 Did you remember to click on "Other Versions", selecting "Experimental" and then selecting the one for Win 10, after going to the download page?
  9. On the other hand, if PP wasn't annoying, I'd start to question if it was running as intended, #QoS
  10. That's interesting, Staff. Would this still happen regardless of whether the client was set to sort between either "Speed" or "Latency" ? Thank you for explaining.
  11. Hello ! It's nice of you to try to warn us, so thank you, on behalf of all those who evaded Canadian extortion, lol I bet the Canadian prices would've been "cheap" in the eyes of an Australian, haha.
  12. OP, we're just waiting for you to post your logs. We didn't mean to hijack your thread. Go to your AirVPN program and find a tab which says "logs" and post them here, in spoiler tags. Indeed. If you have other questions, don't hesitate to ask
  13. That's what I said. Meaning you'd probably best just uninstall it. These applications can mess with a variety of settings in a variety of ways. Maybe you could try disabling Kasperky firewall and then restoring WF to factory settings; while Eddie is off. Then starting Eddie again, with Network Lock(NL) on and seeing if it helps. Otherwise you'll have to mess with Kaspersky and find the relevant settings to disable. But if that's too much to do, then I'd just uninstall it. You're correct in that if you're not connected and NL was on, that you shouldn't be able to browse. But since NL relies on WF to work, any messing with WF is going to mess with NL working properly.
  14. Hello ! You can refer to the relevant link in my signature.
  15. Hello ! By the sound of it, your server may have changed, if you connected at two different times, since the recommended server doesn't remain the same, due to changing conditions. I wonder if you checked the link in my signature about blocked wesbsites, before you posted.
  16. Hello ! AirVPN lets you use the VPN with Tor, which has a number of security advantages, yes. You could say there's always a risk of a leak; it depends on the operator and the setup. But depending on what you're trying to accomplish, there's different answers. But this is quite a good one if you're really looking for security. You can also check ipleak.net often.
  17. Hello ! As EdenSpire said: Click on the AirVPN logo in the top-left of the Eddie client, then go to Preferences & then the Advanced tab. Then set both TCP & UDP buffer size entries to 256kb, for faster speeds. I also recommend avoiding German and Netherlands servers for a little while, as they seem to be having issues.
  18. Hello ! Thank you for being so polite and helpful. I'll just link to my own post with what I think you should try. From and including number 5, is what I think you should try. It sounds like you could use a reset of the WF (Windows Firewall). Are you using Network Lock?
  19. Yes, there's something up with German and Netherlands servers, so stay away from them for the time being.
  20. Hello ! Try go to the 3 lines in the top right corner, then scroll down to "Settings". Under the Privacy header, click on "Content Settings" and disable Location tracking settings. You can also change your search engine to DuckDuckGo, wherein you can choose which language/region you want search results from; in addition to having more privacy.
  21. I suppose I perhaps should've said something, since that much was obvious to me personally, due to all the posts about Dutch/German servers. My bad.
  22. Then it's immediately much more clear. Either find a way to stop Kaspersky messing with WF or uninstall it. After that, turn off Eddie via its own menus and then click the button which lets you restore WF to factory settings. Then restart the Eddie client, with Network Lock on.
  23. Hello ! Seems Staff posted in the wrong thead, so here it is.
  24. Click on the AirVPN logo in the top-left of the Eddie client, then go to Preferences & then the Advanced tab. Then set both TCP & UDP buffer size entries to 256kb, for faster speeds as well. Also, you can name my post the solution, in the right hand corner, so that it's more convenient for others to find. You're most welcome and please, if you have any other questions or issues, don't hesitate to post or PM me directly :] Take care.
