  1. They're working on those changes, since they're aware of the problem. The next version of Eddie is currently in Alpha. However as the support staff have told me and which I certainly think is applicable to other parts of life too: "One must always kill with grace", referring to killing the program.
  2. Is it the case that if you have a 100/100Mbit connection for instance, you should or could use a 512kb buffer? I know the Staff recommended 256 as well, but I don't quite understand why.
  3. Hello ! Did you make sure that your client isn't using some kind of "anonymous" mode? There's such a feature in a different client that you might want to try - qBittorent and it often seems to cause problems. Have you tried force re-announcing to trackers? That sometimes works. Did you use a high port in the AirVPN port-forwarding section and make sure this port didn't change in your client somehow? Maybe you could go to ipleak.net and see if downloading the test torrent works alright and if your IP is properly hidden as well. Also, are you using any other software such as "Peerblock" in conjunction with your torrent client? I assume you're not using any proxies or anything.
  4. Well if you go to the top left corner, you'll find the About tab, which in turn holds links to both the Eddie software and "manual" online. This is in addition to all the help regular users like ourselves can offer via posts, guides written by some of said users and staff, as well as a dedicated contact form to ask AirVPN support staff directly. This, coupled with the innate "help" the client provides in the form of the "logs" tab, makes for quite a bit of different kinds of help, to be honest. I understand that it's annoying when stuff doesn't work; it really does get on your nerves. Yet at the same time, this is also one of the more technical VPNs and while that level of technicality can be an obstruction at times, it is also the very thing which makes this service so worth it to begin with. It's not always possible to make software do everything you want, because users have different configurations - but updates are always underway as well. Eddie already takes care of a huge amount of things which are otherwise quite complicated; especially for the unitiated. But even if Eddie took care of everything, you still need to have the right sort of mindset; which at present, I don't think you currently have, respectfully. You getting a letter from your ISP is very unfortunate. But you've also got to realize that even with the best of software, you yourself need to take sufficient responsibility for your setup working as intended. AirVPN would never claim the software to be foolproof, because honestly, if the person operating the software is a fool, then the software won't matter anyway. You're always welcome to post on the forums, provided you do so in a respectful, orderly and constructive way. Then it should go without saying that the community will help you out as much as possible; as evident by many of the replies you've received in this thread and the other one you made. In the end, Eddie appears to work for the vast majority of both Windows users and users of other operating systems. So if anything, the problem is perhaps more unique to you. I encourage you to keep using it however, since VPNs and related technologies are becoming more and more necessary in order to have a shred of privacy and security online. Perhaps the latest suggestions by quindecim will work for you, perhaps not. There's only one way to find out.
  5. Well I suppose it's a bit like with Snowden. Many people always suspected something bad was going on. But then they got actual evidence, which was still shocking.
  6. Hello ! It's okay to start a new topic if there's no similar ones and the OP includes more than just "Blocked. Fix plz", etc. However there does appear to be a similar thread on the same page as your new thread. It's good you describe the problem though. Which server were you on that was blocked? The routing seems okay. Did you try change servers too, by any chance?
  7. By the way I noticed that in your OP you said you changed DNS to obtain automatically. But it seems you didn't do so for IP. You perhaps also didn't do it on both or all adapters: both the TAP adapter and your regular one. Anyhow, I still think it's strange to quit an entire technology. I mean, logically speaking, you should be quitting Windows, if anything. Not VPNs. Take care.
  8. Hehe, well for some people it is shocking
  9. That's a real shame. To limit yourself like so, for next to no reason. You could use Tor instead; depending on what your use-case is.
  10. Haha, I'm definitely not in the camp that thinks google cares one bit about privacy, not to worry, we're in agreement.
  11. The guy who found the vulnerability shows that other vendors have the same one: http://www.scmagazine.com/uefi-driver-flaw-discovered-on-lenovo-and-hp-laptops-also-affects-gigabyte-motherboards/article/507595/
  12. Hello ! We don't have quantum computers yet and so I think until we do, there probably aren't such great plans for it yet. Maybe you read the article about what google is doing with chrome http://www.techspot.com/news/65517-google-taking-steps-safeguard-chrome-quantum-computers.html As stated, you'd need a very big and/or advanced one. So even if one was made, it would still take time to become commonplace. I'm sure that once some quantum-resistant algorithms are identified, that Air will look into it
  13. Hello ! Welcome to AirVPN. I hope you'll stay As zhang said, you can submit a support ticket here.
  14. Hello ! Both sites seem to work for me.
  15. Hello ! No one thanked you for compiling this list, so thanks. I was considering doing something similar.
  16. Are you asking when Air will launch new Portugal servers? If so, I don't think there's any public plans for that. Maybe you'll have to ask support. It's not always up to Air, because Air requires good conditions. So if Portugal doesn't have good conditions, they won't set up a server.
  17. Have you checked your network settings and set any and all adapters to obtain DNS and IP addresses automatically? Feel free to post your logs if you wish You're also welcome to follow SOA's advice and see if that works.
  18. Hello ! Welcome to AirVPN. Did you change it to automatic on all relevant network adapters and not just one of them? I'm assuming you're running windows. If you're getting disconnects, then feel free to post your logs On some occassions it can also help to download the TCP version of the configuration files, in the Config Generator, rather than the UDP version. At the bottom.
  19. Can't seem to find where the recuring payments are. Perhaps it may have cancelled it self? Did you check: https://airvpn.org/invoices/ https://airvpn.org/purchases/
  20. Hello ! I think PP is the only payment-option that has renewal. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  21. No worries Perhaps they are useful. Perhaps not. For a VPN service, they could be deadly, since VPNs are largely trust-based services. I'm sure that Air has considered them. I mean, they sure considered all the other security features didn't they! Haha. So if it's not here, then it was probably not deemed useful. It's a lovely concept however.
  22. Hello ! It has been mentioned a couple of times, but I think the consensus is that it's not that valuable. Furthermore, Air has showed its resolve on more than one occasion to avoid breaches of privacy or security. So I'm inclined to think that Air would sooner shut down, than succumb to the requests that a Warrant Canary is thought to guard against. Some other providers have used them though.
  23. Hello ! When a website is blocked or things aren't working so well somehow, that sucks. But posting a new topic will not automatically help. So before posting a new thread/topic, I recommend that you try these things first, to help yourself and everyone else out: Things To Try First Try check out the AirVPN Route Checking tool. Put the name of the website, such as www.netflix.com into the search field. Click search. Then refresh the page & look at the HTTP column.Try and change the server that you're using; especially to servers from other countries, rather than just servers from the same country you were first connected to, as sometimes the servers of 1 country are all having issues. Especially if the Route Checking tool shows a red color in the HTTP colum or codes like 403. The HTTP Codes mean different things.Try check out ipleak.net and make sure that the IP & DNS address fields only show 1 address each: those from AirVPN. Otherwise your ISP could be blocking you.For Windows, try going to your Control Panel>>Internet Connections>>Change Adapter Settings>>Right Click each adapter>>Properties>>Untick IPv6>>Click Ok. Similar steps for MacOS/Linux.Try use the AirVPN forum search field in the top right corner, to see if a similar thread exists already. It's better and easier if all the same posts are in the same thread.Try click the "Most Viewed" button, on the horizontal blue line, under the black "Start New Topic" button, in order to see the most viewed threads easily & quickly.Try and check that your ISP or country isn't listed here. Because these ISPs block various things.Try and check if the website is listed here. Sites listed here should be automatically unblocked, regardless of which server you use. (This is called "Micro-routing").Try and see if the content you want, is available via a torrent site, if you wish. You could then use qBittorent to download it using P2P technology, which AirVPN fully allows. (Not all VPNs do) Does AirVPN Care About Blocked Sites? Yes! AirVPN Staff routinely reply to all kinds of different threads on these forums. This includes replies to threads about Netflix. Moderators do too! However due to there being a lot of new threads, they don't always reply to each one. Especially if the thread already exists; such as the many threads about Netflix. This is why it's important to keep all posts about the same website, in the same threads, instead of just making a new thread, which won't get any attention. But the problem is, that AirVPN or even any other VPN provider, can't always do anything about blocks. That's the truth. Because sites like Netflix actively try to block VPNs.It's in AirVPNs Mission Statement to fight all kinds of blocks or attempts at censorship; so it's not because Air isn't trying to fix things. When You Post A Thread, Consider This If you absolutely have to post, then please include: a link to the blocked website, the AirVPN server you used, any error messages you got & any replies from support staff from the blocked site. You get bonus points if you also tell us that you already tried the route checking tool and other things listed in the first section. . Double the bonus if you post in an existing thread instead.Posting also doesn't guarantee that the problem will be fixed. But if you follow the suggestions here, then you will make fixing the problem both quicker and easier for Air & everyone else :]. If you have questions or suggestions, please do not be afraid of posting them here or sending me a PM. If you're new to VPNs, then please feel free to check out my New User guide. Please do provide feedback on this thread if it helped you or is missing something! Thank you for reading !
  24. You're most welcome! :] And I repeat, do not hesitate to ask questions around here; you're most welcome to do so. Take care and good luck! P.S. Yes! I finally beat zhang to the punch!
