ANSWERED Real IP exposed for a few days
LZ1 replied to airvpn88's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
What did you do exactly? Maybe it can help others -
Hello! Welcome to the site! If you're totally lost, you could start by skimming through the New User guide linked to in my signature. So you'll get an idea about how to use Air firstly. Your goal isn't quite so clear though. Ideally you would pinpoint who or what you're trying to hide from. There's a difference between some marketeers and a three-letter agency . Because if you really want to take things to Edward Snowden degrees of security, then you need to look at a lot more things, such as which OS you're using and why. It's up to you in which order you choose to run Air/Tor. If you want to follow the first example in the next link, you run Tor first and then Air. Otherwise it's the opposite, if I'm not mistaken: There's Pro's and Con's. In the end, you could check ipleak.net to confirm what address shows up. You can't be stupid when you made the smart choice of coming here

AirVPN using network manager in Ubuntu/Mint

Hello! That's really nice. Good effort ! I would suggest you name the title with "Guide" or "How-To" or similar, as it otherwise looks like it's a question. -

If I'm not mistaken, you can see some or all the rules here already. -
Hello! Some of your sites? Do you mean when you browse around? If you could go into more detail about your setup that would be useful. It all looks fine according to the Status page. So is it a specific CH? Did you try other ones and maybe other protocols too? Assuming you're using the Eddie client of course .

Cannot connect to Cynosura (Vancouver Canada) for months
LZ1 replied to Weasel's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello! Maybe you could try turning off IPv6 on all interfaces, including TAP. Air only just started rolling out IPv6. You also got: In which case I recommend you try switching to the TCP protocol in Eddie. You may also experiment with going to Eddie preferences>DNS>Unchecking Check Air DNS. See if that changes anything. Otherwise, as the other posters, you're always welcome to contact support, instead of waiting on a forum reply from volunteers such as myself . -
Hello! Welcome! I don't know if you can get your money back, but if you wanted to try, you should use the Contact Us tab. Before you do though, I urge you to tell us more about your setup and if you tried using different protocols and locations. If you use an ISP which throttles people for example, such as Comcast, you can benefit from changing the protocol to SSL or SSH . Likewise, connecting to locations such as the Netherlands, which are well-connected, can be helpful. Don't assume that a location close to you = better speeds. Do also tell us what speeds you mean: just torrenting speeds for example? Or general usage. If you take a look at the Top Users page for instance, you'll see there's a huge amount of people getting excellent speeds. Which of course suggests it's fully possible to do so, using Air. But as with any product worth anything, it can take some patience to figure out initial problems .

Hello! It would be helpful if you could share your logs with us please. Also, you may try going into the Eddie preferences and disabling one or both of: - Check Air DNS - Check if the tunnel works Under the DNS and Advanced submenu tabs respectively.

Hello! Network Lock does modify iptables yes . You can only get access to Network Lock if you use the Eddie client. Unless you're willing to put together your own firewall rules with pfsense for example. Which would really make sense if you're an Arch user anyway.

Did you try using Eddie with the SSH or SSL protocol?

ANSWERED Download speed not showing up in AirVPN. UPDATED
LZ1 replied to Amadore's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Which client are you using? You can see it in Eddie's "About" page. Also, you can try going to preferences and changing the data units perhaps. -
Hello! When it comes to latency, which you see noted as "ms" for miliseconds, lower is better, because the less time it takes to communicate from A to B, the better. Thus a lower score in this metric plus some others, translates into more stars. To my understanding at least.

ANSWERED Download speed not showing up in AirVPN. UPDATED
LZ1 replied to Amadore's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello! You are connected. Especially if you enable Network Lock, which you didn't. Any disconnection would then cause a stop to all connections, including downloads. Please try go to the protocol section in Eddie, untick automatic and select TCP. Then reconnect to a server and check the Stats tab to confirm you're using TCP . Other than that, please make sure you're using the latest stable edition of the Eddie client and share with us your entire logfile, instead of just pieces of it which you find interesting. -
ANSWERED Guide - Fix for TAP adapter in Windows
LZ1 replied to Flx11's topic in General & Suggestions
OP do you think this would work for when: OpenVPN > TEST ROUTES: 0/0 succeeded len=-1 ret=0 a=0 u/d=down . 2018.02.07 18:55:16 - OpenVPN > Route: Waiting for TUN/TAP interface to come up... ? -
You're welcome. I'm glad your day has been made Why don't you experiment with SSL/SSH protocols in Eddie as well and see if that changes anything? Another user around here enjoyed great success with this, with Comcast.

Hello! Did you try the latest experimental client? Otherwise submitting a support ticket may be in order .

Hello! If you look at the changelog, you'll find the addition of WFP. Which added Windows Filtering Platform, thus Windows Firewall isn't used. This allows for better integration with 3rd party security software such as ESET. So I should think that's why . You'll note the date of the Staff post you quoted.

Well Shimo looks like it has plenty of functionality. But I for instance don't need a built-in maps function, but perhaps you do. Maybe I'm just from a different generation than you, but I think it's strange to pay a subscription fee for software that could be obtained for free legally. Which was why I said you were sort of paying for Shimo . It's of course up to you how you use your money. A number of people brought up issues with the dock icon I think.

Hello! If you mean to port forward, then you must pick a port number in the Client Area here and then put that number into Transmission. Any sort of automatic changes to port numbers in Transmission wouldn't be good. Assuming it is port forwarding you're talking about, then no it's not security related; except for how it's not recommended to forward ports on your router when done so elsewhere already. You can find some torrenting guides in the New User guide in my signature. I can't find the setting you refer to, so I wonder if it's unique to Mac.

Excellent. You should also note that geographical proximity doesn't automatically result in a better connection. Which therefore means I hope you try different locations too. As an example, the Netherlands are a really well-connected place. Speedtests can also be quite unreliable. Many prefer downloading a Linux torrent in order to test speeds for instance. (Bittorent/Torrenting isn't illegal and Linux OS' aren't copyrighted). Are you using a wired connection or wireless one? If wireless, it's good to take further measures to beef up the signal.
