[How-To] AirVPN via SSL/stunnel on Android 6/7/8
LZ1 replied to InactiveUser's topic in General & Suggestions
Hello! Thank you. What an absolutely stellar guide. The formatting alone is fantastic! I hope you won't mind that I add it to my own guide's index. -
Air Staff merely confirmed what I already told you - it's out of Airs' hands. You'll note they mention residential IPs too. So it inherently doesn't matter if you change to something other than Air, as those IPs would also just get blocked. So nowadays it's hit and miss. Such is the problem when sites block users. Other big ones like Netflix are notorious for it too. Best of luck.
-
Hello! What system are you running? It looks like Windows XP. In which case you can't expect it to be supported further by Airs software, since it's an old system.
-
Hello! You may benefit from checking the guide to blocked sites in my signature. Note that you don't need to use a UK server to watch something from a UK site. So I assume you tried other servers and protocol combinations. Is that the case? It's an enduring issue because it's not Airs fault what other websites do and Air cannot control their actions. But the consequences are for Air to feel, as you make apparent. Air Staff also already made things clear, but it's tedious for them to keep repeating the same truths continuously: they try their best, but it's ultimately not just up to them, if something works or not. Take care .

Due to the micro-routing done, you don't necessarily need to connect to a specific country. So you can use BBC iPlayer from the Netherlands for example. So try your luck with what you want to access. Otherwise you can make a request to get a specific website added to a list where the aforementioned micro-routing will work. Only Air knows the details about when and if. I doubt it will be soon, since conditions in France still need to get better I think.
-
Hello! Maybe you can check the link in my signature regarding blocked sites and see if there's anything there you can try.
-
I think Air would say it's discouraged, but that otherwise it's of course possible to do. The cons being: - less control - less security - account-wise anyhow. - running out of connection slots, if one person takes up all 5; in which case you'd get errors when trying to connect. - as Staff said, minimum bandwidth is per account and not per connection. So you'd hope the other person isn't a bandwidth-monster, haha. You'd be able to see established connections in the Client Area, but otherwise not .
-
Hello! That's incredible! That must mean things are going exceedingly well. But then I must ask: how did you do this, Staff and are there any interesting and juicy technical details to share? I assume it didn't come at the cost of privacy in any sense of the word for instance. It also feels like it was only yesterday you said 3 connections was already extremely generous. How fast things change. Now you're forcing me to edit my guide, tsk

Hello! Welcome to AirVPN! You can change your forum display name as pointed out above, however you can't change your login credentials name. So I recommend you contact support, through the Client Area tab .
-
Hello! If you're using Eddie, please post your logs . You can find instructions on how to do this, in the New User guide in my signature below, if you're unsure how. It'll help us help you.

I wasn't being sarcastic at all and I'm disappointed it was interpreted that way. I try to treat everyone on these forums with courtesy, as I think it's a good community. However it's definitely also the case that the product offered by Air isn't for everyone and that's alright. That happens. I would suggest that you submit a support ticket for help though, if you're in the Client Area anyhow. Air's support is quite good and may yet be able to help you. I wish you good luck in finding a provider which you find suitable. Take care .

How can I install eddie on Ubuntu 16??
LZ1 replied to airact's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
So https://airvpn.org/linux/ can't use used to download the .deb for you? It would also be helpful if you showed us exactly which commands you put in. I wonder if you remembered sudo or su. -
Hello! If you're using the Eddie client, have you made sure to update to the latest Stable release?
-
Hello! You probably had Network Lock enabled and this was then shut down abnormally and thus the rules NL put in, stayed in place, thus preventing you from going online after shutting down Eddie. I imagine you're probably using an older version of the Eddie client; do check in its "About" page. If so, please update. You can't delete threads .
-
Hello! Yes you can refer to the New User guide in my signature below. Then go to the Community Guides section, where there's links to setting up your torrent client. Enjoy

Hello! As Ts says, it's really easy on GNU/Linux, as you can add a PPA and then have Eddie update automatically whenever you normally run system updates. Thus using system updates to update you about Eddie by proxy. There hasn't been any word on implementing such a feature, to my knowledge and so no it's not implemented. I don't think it has been implemented because: It's not a priority, given the many other things which need to be sorted out. So I think it's more of a "nice to have". I imagine Air may have doubts about implementing something which may become superfluous once Eddie really becomes a multi-provider wrapper. I also think it may conflict with Airs philosophy, slightly, of not adding unnecessary things, which perhaps do things behind the users back; such as check for updates. But I don't know. But to help you, you could add the News and Announcements subforum to your RSS feed for example. Or you could switch to Linux or even just make the download page your browser startpage.

Hello! Since none of you posted any information for us to work with in order to actually help you - such as logs from Eddie - here's some general things you can try: - Make sure your client and system is up to date. - Try different protocols. - Try disconnecting from the network and connecting again. - Try with and without Network Lock (NL). - Try different DNS servers, such as the AirVPN-supported OpenNic. - Try restarting whichever client it is that you're using. - Try and see if you've got any third-party security software running, which may be interfering and stop them momentarily. - Try restarting the TAP-adapter. Next time, please do post more information on your respective setups, as you may experience the same issue, but for different reasons . If there's any other questions, concerns or problems, feel free to post. Otherwise you may find the New User guide in my signature below, informative. Also, welcome to AirVPN Joshua1989, if none of the aforementioned suggestions work, you may also submit a support ticket via the Client Area tab .

Well you're quite a few versions out of date then. That's not the guide I meant. There's other guides on actually setting up your torrent clients properly. Which I've linked to in the New User Guide, in the section "AirVPN Guides & Community Threads Of Interest". So you didn't check the torrent actually. You only checked WebRTC and IPv6. I asked if you actually downloaded the test torrent from ipleak.net or not, which specifically shows you if your IP address is hidden during torrenting or not. The vast majority of users get by fine and so you won't find much traction for the idea that it's AirVPNs fault; even though I empathise with your frustration . To suggest it is, is a serious accusation, because it undermines the trust in Air and trust is the fundamental currency of any VPN trying to be a quality VPN. It's also not exactly "fair play" to suggest it may be AirVPNs fault when and if you're not using the latest iteration of their software. Also, one of the first posters mentioned some changes you could make in qBittorrent, which you apparently hadn't made. Which to me suggests you therefore didn't set up your client properly and/or could've done more to prevent a leak. Thus, please do check out the relevant guides on setting up torrent clients.

Hello! We can't help you much unless you attach some Eddie logs for us. Alternatively you could try using the TCP protocol .
-
Hello! - Which version of Eddie are you running? - Have you checked the guides to setting up torrent clients, found in the New User guide in my signature? - Did you download the test torrent from ipleak.net to see which IP address shows? - Did you disable IPv6 and was it an IPv6 address that was shown to be your address, in the notice?

I've been a long time supporter of Air. I'd also love of they allowed more connections. Anyone else? Perhaps we could petition for more? At the very least, I'd be willing to pay a little more for more connections. Sent from my LG-LS777 using Tapatalk Hello! Not going to happen and it has been asked for repeatedly. You can find out why in the First Questions section of the New User guide in my signature.
-
Hello! You can try check the guide to blocked sites in my signature if you would like.
-
No I don't think that would make sense and it's probably a lot of work in the end. As long as you've got the option to download earlier versions, I think that's fair and I assume you've found out where to download them.

Eddie hangs by "checking authorisation" in ubuntu 16.04
LZ1 replied to ogi's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello! Have you made sure you're not using up your 3 device slots? Perhaps trying a different protocol will help you too, so you can try that. Just reconnect to servers after every switch .
