  1. Hi. I have recently commenced using AirVPN, and I must commend you for having one of the most accessible pieces of software I've ever seen for users who are fully blind or vision impaired. One issue I've encountered is that I'm not able to access the button or icon that I need to click in order to get to the advanced settings area. It would be great if this could be addressed, as it's proving frustrating to get to the advanced features of this fabulous software package. Otherwise, I'm very happy with your speeds from Australia and it's great that you offer the ability for users to be able to download the files necessary to use your service with Viscosity or any other open VPN client. Cheers.
  2. Hello, I am using a Blackberry Passport and would like to connect to AirVPN using an SSH tunnel. The options look like the picture below. Where can I find the information to fill this in? If it's not possible with the BB options, does anyone know of reliable open-source software for the Blackberry Passport that support the VPN SSH tunnel. My knowledge is still limited with all this, but learning. Thanks!
  3. Hi Anyone know how to set-up the VPN with the Wii U?
  4. Hey, After logging in I used to be able to connect to any of the servers. I would select TCP over port 443 to connect. But recently the version of the client I have stopped working. When I try to log in it says "The client is obsolete and no longer supported". So I went and downloaded the latest version. I can log in fine and see the server list, but I can't connect to any of them. I keep getting an "Checking info 1, 2, 3... unable to connect to the remote host error". It then keeps doing this over and over trying to connect. I have tried to connect with many servers and always get the same result.
  5. Hello, I just bought a subscription and loaded up the software to find I can't log in! So I am getting an error that says "Cannot receive systems & server data. Please retry later or contact us for help. (The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden.) I just want to get this ironed out. Any help?
  6. I am running the following system: Raspberry pi 2 with ArchLinux Arm Kernel 3.18Provider Down/Up Speeds: 70/10 MbitI can maxout Up and Down speed without VPNIf I use my laptop (Manjaro linux) i can maxout the connection even behind the VPN, so this is not provider traffic shapingWhen using the VPN the following happens I try to to download anything using a single connection (for instance using "aria2c -x 1 -o /dev/null download_url") my top speed is going to be ~150KB/s with negligible cpu load.I try to the same thing using multiple connection (for instance using "aria2c -x 10 -o /dev/null download_url") my top speed is going to be ~600KB/s, and in both case cpu load from openvpn is about 30%, so this is not a cpu issue. If try to download a single torrent (extremely well seeded) I reach even better speeds (~1.5MB/s), with about 50% cpu load from the openvpn process. The only way to maxout the cpu and the download speed is to download several well seeded torrents at once (so a lot of connections I believe), getting 3MB/s (the expected cpu limit) with 100% cpu load.I can't say what is going on, but apparently it looks like that a "single" connection is going slow (maybe for some faulty network configuration?) and the only way to saturate the speed is to use several connections at once. Is anyone able to give any help? Best
  7. Hello everyone, I purchased AirVPN recently to keep my torrent traffic private, and am just now getting around to putting it to use. However, I'm getting some extremely slow speeds, or rather no speed at all. I'm using the AirVPN client and letting it connect to a recommended server, but consistently get 0 B/s (Yes, that's B/s) download and upload. It will occasionally jump to ~100 B/s, or even ~100 KB/s, but drops back to 0 B/s shortly after. I also took the speed test on this website which gave the following results: Down: 0.477 Mbit/s Out, 0.470 Mbit/s In (98%), 1MB - Up: 0.382 Mbit/s Out, 0.322 Mbit/s In (84%), 1MB - Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2015 19:28:09 GMT - Buffers: 1MB/1MB - Laps: 3, Time: 325.56 secs Not quite 0 B/s like the AirVPN client says, but still unacceptably slow considering I get around 50-60 Mbits/s download and upload (Verizon) when not connected to the VPN. I'm a total greenhorn when it comes to just about anything networking, and assume I messed something up when trying to configure the VPN with my torrent client (Deluge), so I'm just going to go into what exactly I've done so far and then maybe someone here can give me some guidance. First, I followed the P2P optimization guide found here: https://airvpn.org/faq/p2p/ In the end, my settings look like this: http://i.imgur.com/SnGiGJ9.png Which looks correct to me, for whats its worth. Second, I setup Windows firewall rules to block Deluge's connection in the event that the VPN unexpectedly disconnects, or I forget to turn it on or something. I did so following this guide: https://vpn.ac/knowledgebase/55/Windows-Firewall-rules-to-block-P2PorTorrent-traffic-if-VPN-disconnects.html I tested to make sure it works with the little speed I have and it does seem to work. I'll get a few KB/s while connected to the VPN, and it will stop or start back up when I disconnect and reconnect to the VPN respectively. Aside from those two things, I've done nothing else, and don't even know if there is still more I need to do aside from those two things. I'm hoping the pros here can point me in the right direction because what I've tried to find out on my own so far has been fruitless. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hi everyone, ich have e problem with download speed usin vpn. Usually it's not possible to get more than 1Mb. To make connection to the airvpn I'm using ASUS RT-N66U with tomato shibby. Changing servers or ports doesn't help. I was trying with udp 443 and 53 but there is no effect. Telekom is my IPS and I have 50Mb internet connection. Could ynaone help me solving my problem? Thanks
  9. Good day, First of all I am running Ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop. What I want to achiev is to connect to tor via Airvpn. (That's the safest setup way, am I right?). Problems that I occure: To connect to Tor, I need to setup proxy in Airvpn client. Ant then use data in Tor configuration and achieve connection. Airvpn client without proxy setting works flawless. After I turn on proxy (socks5), I cant connect to server, I get reconnect loop, log: I 2015.03.09 11:03:54 - AirVPN client version: 2.8.8, System: Linux, Name: Ubuntu 14.10 \n \l, Architecture: x86 . 2015.03.09 11:03:54 - Reading options from /home/vibe/.airvpn/AirVPN.xml . 2015.03.09 11:03:56 - Data Path: /home/vibe/.airvpn . 2015.03.09 11:03:56 - App Path: /usr/lib/AirVPN . 2015.03.09 11:03:56 - Executable Path: /usr/lib/AirVPN/AirVPN.exe . 2015.03.09 11:03:56 - Command line arguments (1): path="/home/vibe/.airvpn" . 2015.03.09 11:03:57 - Operating System: Unix 3.16.0.23 - Linux Q 3.16.0-23-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 21 18:00:35 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux . 2015.03.09 11:03:57 - Updating systems & servers data ... 11. Dear community, Hoping someone can help with this.... I am trying to setup a firewall script for my router running Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 -121 K26ARM USB AIO-64K by SHIBBY on a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk on mostly default settings apart from the VPN Client. The script is to block all non-VPN traffic even if the connection fails and i have tried several suggestions made in the forums without success. Below is the script most people have success with (except me): iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -o tun0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i tun0 -o br0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -o vlan2 -j DROP iptables -I INPUT -i tun0 -j REJECT iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE (from https://airvpn.org/topic/4287-how-to-block-all-traffic-with-dd-wrt-if-vpn-connection-fails/) I think the problem lies in the assigned interface names. Below is my current routing table while VPN'd: In short can someone modify the script to suite my arrangement?? or let me know what direction I need to take to set this up.... using the script above lets traffic through even if I stop the VPN client and my attempts to modify usually blocks all traffic. Any help would me much appreciated, EWS
  12. While recently the cloudflare captchas became a major annoyance they seem to block whole IP ranges now (leaseweb). You can log into your account but every download you start gets timed out. With a bunch of european servers I experienced this and can confirm. So I contacted the support and they claimed that this "provider" (AirVPN) provides account-sharing and even charges their users for it - WTF Don't know what is on their mind; maybe AirVPN is supposed to be a multihoster? And therefore block whole IP ranges? This needs some clarification!
  13. Hi everyone JC here, I havn't found anything useful on the fourms so far but everytime I connect to the severs any host I keep getting a short fragment network attack and the whole connection gets cut and forced to another server where it will ontinue the same loop. This is mainly while torrenting and has happended on servers in a few countries. Is there a way to fix this because the native firewall in my AV/IS is useless and I have used outpost before I started using torrents. If there is anymore information I can go into great detail but it's 4:47AM now after I've tried for about 3hrs to confiq it right. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

  20. Hello, I have a strange problem: I'm using Linux Mint 17 (Cinnamon, 64-bit), no firewall settings applied. After connecting to AirVPN through the network-manager (using .ovpn config file imported) or using "Eddie 2.1 (Portable)" I cannot connect to my Jabber/XMPP profiles (i have two different profiles on two different jabber-servers, including Jitsi). I have tried Pidgin, Gajim and Jitsi. Pidgin cannot login into my accout, Gajim is seems to be connected but no one can see me logged in and I don't see any contacts online, and I cannot send/receive any messages - so I'm accually offline. When I am connected to Jitsi/XMPP account I can see other contacts and they can see me, but I cannot send messages only receive them and I cannot make/receive any calls. In all cases, when I use "Net Activity Viewer" application I see that there is a connection established from local address 10.4.x.x to a jabber-server on a remote port 5222 but still I cannot communicate. I have also tried to flush iptables settings just to be sure - it didn't help. // Just to be clear - I try to connect to XMPP after I have established AirVPN connection. Everything else working but XMPP. When I'm disconnected from AirVPN everything works just fine. // I was using AirVPN under Windows 7 and everything was working (with Comodo anti-leaking Global Rules applied). To be 100% sure, I have tried a clean install of Linux Mint 16 and 17 (both Cinnamon, 64-bit) on a flash drive. The problem repeated. There is more: I have tried to boot from Linux Mint Debian Edition (from a flash drive with installation iso image written on it) - there was NO problem connecting to XMPP accounts under AirVPN connection (using Eddie 2.1 Portable! I just don't know what to think about all of this... some kind of a mystery.
  21. I'm trying to make it so all of my traffic goes through the VPN and no traffic goes around it. I am running windows 7. How can I route all of my traffic through AirVPN while also not allowing any traffic to go around it?
  22. Hi, Yesterday i subscribed for a 3 day AIRVPN plan. I installed "openvpn-install-2.3.4-I002-x86_64.exe" and generated config files with USA and UK servers having ports TCP 443 alone. Everytime i try connecting it gives a TLS handshake error. My PC is connected to our organisation's firewall, Fortiguard which filters our Internet connection. It has only port 80(TCP) and 443(TCP) opened [ checked it through Nmap tool ]. All other ports are closed. OS- windows 7 64 bit. Here is my log, Fri Oct 03 13:13:10 2014 Warning: cannot open --log file: C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\log\AirVPN_United-States_TCP-443.log: Access is denied. What i found out is, i opened Ultrasurf Proxy [which is the only proxy software that works bypassing Fortiguard in my organisation] and connected to its proxy and then tried connecting AirVPN and voila, it got connected without an problem to an USA server. After i disconnected Ultrasurf, AirVPN couldn't connect back. !!! I also installed Eddie 2.6 and tried connecting with "protocol TCP 443" selected from preferences, but couldn't connect. I even tried SSL 443 but couldn't connect here is my log, Sat Oct 04 13:04:27 2014 OpenVPN 2.3.4 x86_64-w64-mingw32 [sSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [PKCS11] [iPv6] built on Jun 5 2014 Sat Oct 04 13:04:27 2014 library versions: OpenSSL 1.0.1h 5 Jun 2014, LZO 2.05 Enter Management Password: Sat Oct 04 13:04:27 2014 MANAGEMENT: TCP Socket listening on [AF_INET]127.0.0.1:25340 Sat Oct 04 13:04:27 2014 Need hold release from management interface, waiting... You are maybe behind a proxy. If so, OpenVPN can connect over a proxy. You need to know proxy type, proxy listening port and IP address (or reachable host name), authentication type (if any), authentication credentials (if any). Then you can generate a configuration file with such parameters (tick "Advanced Mode" in the Configuration Generator and fill in the proxy parameters). If you think you are not behind a proxy, try a connection of OpenVPN over SSL. In our client Eddie you can quickly test OpenVPN over SSL by clicking "AirVPN" button, selecting "Preferences", clicking "Protocols" tab, selecting "SSL Tunnel - Port 443" and clicking "Save". Eddie supports OpenVPN connections over a proxy as well (they can be configured in the "Proxy" tab). Kind regards AirVPN Support Team But i would like to point out that, i could communicate with AirVPN servers when using Ultrasurf and my internet connection dowsn't go through a proxy. Kindly can anyone help me out.

  24. This tutorial is about blocking ALL traffic outside of the VPN connection which reveal your real IP address and also work as DNS Leak Fix. This works ONLY for Viscosity users and ONLY if you have ANY firewall (in my case I'm using GData Internet Security 2015). Why only for Viscosity? Because Viscosity makes it very easy for us by creating network adapters and I had trouble applying the Comodo guide to GData Firewall. In short: We simply block ALL traffic on our others network adapters and just allow Viscosity (and the network adapters of viscosity). Step by step: 1. Create a new rule set called AirVPN or whatever else. 2. We need a to create only a few custom rules in our rule set 3. We need to allow the Openvpn.exe inside of the Viscosity folder. I recommend using the assistant of GData. 3a) We need to allow in/out connections to our homework by allowing connections from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 3b) We need to allow in/out connections to AirVPN in general, because GData has no kind of collection we must create for every IP a rule. We allow in/out connections to 95.211.138.143 and to 212.117.180.25 3c) Next we allow connections to the AIRVPN server(s) in this case I'm allowing connections to the AirVPN Switzerland server //Edit: This doesn't seem to be necessary at all. 3d) At the end we block ALL other traffic 4. As previously told Viscosity creates network adapters. So we just need to apply this rule set to our local network adapter only. As soon as Viscosity has lost the connection, we are no longer be able to connect to the internet because our local network has been blocked. But we can reconnect with Viscosity to our AirVPN servers. So we made sure that all traffic is going through our VPN tunnel. This works with all firewalls that support these steps and its very easy to set up. Feedback is appreciated.
