  1. AirVPN in the short time i have been able to use it thusfar has been an excellent tool in the business of bypassing the censorship of ISP's ranging from workplaces, public wifi etc. I have previously used PIA, IPvanish, ExpressVPN and NordVPN. AirVPN by far makes the goal of privacy and censorship bypassing their main priority of their business plan and as a customer that has been extremely valuable as other providers only give you a assurance of privacy, however AirVPN will take you the time and walk you through and SHOW you that your data is safe and the EU legislation that makes all of this possible for them. No one likes spy's, big brothers or the moral watchdogs of today's internet society's.
  2. Hi there everyone! Today I was runnning netstat -nbt on CMD in Windows with the intent to get the IP address of a game server I was connected to. But as I scrolled down, I saw this: [skype.exe] TCP 10.4.50.209:4855 xxx.xx.x.xxx:8080 ESTABLISHED The xxx.xx.x.xxx is my real IP address (I was running this command while connected to AirVPN). I wasn't sure if this was normal for my IP to appear here, so I ask everyone here. Is it normal to be seeing my real IP address in netstat -nbt? If not, how can I prevent it?
  3. I bought an Ubuntu phone mainly because of privacy concerns I have with IOS & Android. I was disappointed to see that they don't have the built in support for Network Manager like the Ubuntu desktop does, is it possible to run Airvpn on the Ubuntu EQ5 phone?
  4. It is possible to configure airvpn from the settings app on ios instead of using the openvpn app? Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I have million of questions and also looking for step by step guide. im running mac os x. I run Tor Bundle 1st, then start airvpn client in tor mode (pref->protocol->tor) and when i check my ip in Tor browser and firefox (all stock settings) i have 2 different stories: in Tor browser i have Tor exit node ip in firefox i have my exit vpn ip 1) so what is really happening? 2) does firefox go tor then to vpn? 3) how to check tor "stage" if it even happens(or i have to socks proxy localhost??) 4) why does tor browser "bypasses vpn"? 5) how to set everything go smooth? 6) is it possible to work is tor browser? Additional 6) how to avoid "VPN fingerprint" and "double ping" warnings when checking anonymity (i've read that ssl or ssh protocols should be used....but then i'm not able to use Tor?(i'm not able to choose 2 protocols at the same time in GUI) or how to add socks 5 proxy to the chain as an exit node while still using Tor as a 1 stage) Looking for your replies if you have a link to a "noob" manual, I would greatly appreciate it!!! (I wonder why there are no standard airvpn manual on how to do it step-by-step)
  6. Yesterday I was running airvpn over tor with socks5 (vip72). I had no issues, iplocation.net had my location pinned as the location of my socks5 proxy. But today I am running the same setup but iplocation.net still has my location pinned as the location of the airvpn server. ( we'll say airvpn server is somewhere in WA, and socks5 is somewhere in Texas) The only change I have made since yesterday is that I switched my DNS servers to Comodo rather than my ISP. Would this be enough to change the differing results?
  7. Good evening, my question is this. We know that it's possible to connect to AirVPN through TOR; for example, by using the address and the port given by Vidalia TOR. This produce a situation like that: TOR (Vidalia) > AirVPN (some server) > Internet AirVPN don't know the original IP and encrypt the contents, so, neither government or service provider can trace or retrieve data, also outside of an SSL (https) connection. Anyway, AirVPN know the IP where you want to connect and this last know your ip from a server of AirVPN. My question is this: what if I open a Tor Bundle Browser after connecting to AirVPN through TOR management by VIDALIA? It's a scheme like this: Tor (Vidalia) > AirVPN (some server) > Tor Browser Bundle > Internet I just see that it's possible, at least, on Linux Debian. Apparently, the data go through AirVPN in the Tor Bundle and so, also through VIDALIA. Maybe this is a more secured way of working? At least because Internet don't know the IP of AirVPN proxy, you can access to .onion website and the data are still encrypted by the VPN. Or I fall wrong in some points? Nobody try something like this? Thank you

  12. Hello, I can be online only with airvpn, if I'm not connected to airvpn I can't connect my pc to internet. I've windows 10, and I never used Network Lock. Thanks for help and sorry for my english.
  13. Dear support, I want to connect to AirVPN-Servers via SOCKS5 Server which supports UDP packets. So I added the line socks-proxy sockshost 1080 login.txt basic to my AirVPN-OpenVPN configuration file. Connection to SOCKS was successful, but not to your OpenVPN server: Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732339 UDPv4 link local: [undef] Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732453 UDPv4 link remote: [AF_INET]213.152.161.116:2018 WWWWW Do you block incoming SOCKS connections (perhaps from common SOCKS ports?) to your OpenVPN-Servers?
  14. All, So far good results. I signed up for AirVPN while the Phoenix, AZ server was listed as down. It has since been removed entirely. I would have liked to have a local server, and that's partially chose airVPN. Client works well on both Windows and Linux. Works well on cell traffic in OpenVPN for Android as well. (You need to ensure it's set up correctly for cell traffic to route properly though, default settings do not accomplish a correct route) I'll be checking for DNS leaks and packet tracing some test traffic over the next few days to really see how well the tunnels work. One typical speed test below from the provided test on the website. Overall 8/10. Down: 27.881 Mbit/s Out, 23.576 Mbit/s In (84%), 50MB - Up: 1.891 Mbit/s Out, 1.775 Mbit/s In (93%), 20MB - Date: Sat, 05 Dec 2015 19:47:20 GMT - Buffers: 50MB/20MB - Laps: 3, Time: 360.16 secs --- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ping statistics --- 32 packets transmitted, 31 received, 3% packet loss, time 31053ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 21.427/23.465/30.945/1.578 ms Client: Phoenix, AZ VPN Server: Alkes -Nick
  15. I have used WIndows 10 on a previous laptop and had a lot of problems with this vpn client. When it did connect to a server, any website I went to it would act like it couldnt connect. Things like downloading a torrent would be no problem, just doing 2 things at once, wasn't gonna happen. So i went back to 8.1 with no issues. Recenetly got a new laptop with windows 10 installed :/ and my guess it's gonna act up the same way as before. So, is this a known issue with airvpn or is it just the mess that is called Windows 10?? If this doesn't work I figure i can downgrade to 8.1(maybe?) without destroying my recovery partition on my dell.Very frustrating! I have read somewhere that Windows 10 has issues with creating the 1 - 2 tunnels needed when using a vpn client with openvpn.Idk.Maybe someone knows more about this than i do. Gonna install the airvpn client again and hope it works.Any help would be appreciated.thanks
  16. So I know this maybe over the top and a wee bit silly but what if you chained 2 VPNs together through virtualization (VPN 1 on host machine and VPN 2 on a virtual machine) but instead of running 1 virtual machine you installed a virtual machine inside of a virtual machine and installed VPN 2 inside that virtual machine thats installed inside the virtual machine then create another virtual machine seperate from the others and install pfsense and configure it and route the traffic through VM 2 (virtual machine inside the virtual machine) to VM 1 then back through the host? And of cousre run TOR too............ VPNception?
  17. Hey, Im having slow speed on any vpn server, halp. I changed already the buffer to 256kb but it didnt helped. I upgraded to win 10 and since then Im having this problem.
  18. I'm using Thunderbird on an Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, when I try and send an email from my outlook.com email account I get this message, Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp-mail.outlook.com timed out. Try again. It only seems to happen when I'm connected to the VPN, I'm able to send emails by logging in to the outlook.com web portal regardless of whether I'm connected to the VPN or not. I found the IP address for the SMTP server by running an nslookup with the server name & I got this output, Non-authoritative answer: smtp-mail.outlook.com canonical name = smtp.live.com. smtp.live.com canonical name = smtp.glbdns2.microsoft.com. Name: smtp.glbdns2.microsoft.com Address: 65.55.176.126 So I went in to account settings & changed the server name from the host name to the IP address but I'm still having the same issue. Any ideas as to what is wrong?
  19. Hi everyone, I'm wondering, if I tweak my SNR settings on my Asus DSL-AC68U, is this likely to cause any of the AirVPN servers to possibly slow down? I have tweaked my SNR settings and am getting around a 25 percent speed increase when I'm not using AirVPN, but it's possibly effecting both the speed and throughput when using AirVPN, although I'm still running further tests to accurately determine this. Any input from any of you out there would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hi, I am using AirVPN on a windows computer and have been having this problem for the past two days. It keeps re-connecting every few minutes - please see the attached log - AirVPN_log.txt. I am not sure what's causing this OpenVPN > [server] Inactivity timeout (--ping-restart), restarting It's been very frustrating two days and would appreciate anyone's help in resolving this. Thanks
  21. Airvpn's client doesn't officially drop connections but, when I try to load pages/visit websites they won't load. This happens after I do a speedtest or watch 1080p+ YouTube video. I am using the client Eddie. My connection speed is 126mbps dl & 12mbps ul. I brought 1 year Airvpn access so I would really like this to work properly. Thanks.
  22. Hi there, I am fairly new to Linux and also to AirVPN. I am using the AirVPN client on 64 bit Linux Mate, running Transmission on my machine trying to set up remote access so I can view the web interface remotely. I have a DNS running on my Raspberry Pi so I am attempting to use my domain (for example 2Girls1CPU.mooo.com:9091) to access the web UI. I have tested the DNS, through port 22 to SSH into my raspberry pi to confirm that it is working. Here is what I have tried: Initially I set up remote access in Transmission. I had the port as 9091, with authentication and no whitelist of IP addresses. Then I went into AirVPN client area and set up a port forwarding rule. Obviously 9091 was taken, so I just created a random port, forwarded through TCP (I've tried UDP, as well as both TCP and UDP). Then I took that random port, say 27364 and entered it into the remote access settings in Transmission. I also went into my port forwarding rules in my router and added a rule to forward 27364 to my Laptop running AirVPN and Transmission (say 192.168.1.43). External and internal port both the same obviously. Now with this setup, I would assume when I try to access port 27364 (with 2Girls1CPU.mooo.com:27364) - my VPN would forward that to my router port 27364, which would then forward to 192.168.1.43:27364. I may be completely wrong as I do not have a solid understanding of networking and port forwarding, but this setup did not work. One thing that confused me was under the port forwarding rules on AirVPN client area, it says "Forwarded to 10.x.x.x". Why is this being forwarded to an IP with a 10. ip range? Should it not be forwarded to my internal IP? Or how exactly does that work? I'm probably missing something here, but I just can't work it out. I'm not sure how the port forwarding within AirVPN works. If anyone could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated. One more thing I am wondering - how safe is it to have a port forwarded like I am attempting while using AirVPN? Is there any potential for leaks? Thanks! -2Girls1CPU

    My AirVPN Review

I've had Airvpn around 5-6 weeks now and I can honestly say I've never had a better service. The transparency and communication from them are top notch if there's security bugs/flaws rather than hide or conceal it they inform and remedy it. My previous VPN didn't even mention the WebRTC leaks yet on Airvpn the information is very apparent and solutions are abundant. The speed for me has always been excellent always maxing my connection to most (US servers excluded as that is way over the pond but still good) they have a guaranteed 4mb either way but to be honest their guarantee is never needed as I never see slow downs. I Really like the Eddie client and never had problems using it. The cost is also superb 5 euro a month if you pay in 3 or 6 month instalments. The only time I've had problems connecting to Airvpn was my recent trip to Lanzarote. I was able to connect sometimes but mostly I wasn't able to but this in no way was an Airvpn problem it was a hotel wifi sucks problem. So in conclusion my opinion on Airvpn is that it's very cheap (£11 for 3 months), extremely reliable, great communication, great client, and very honest company.
  24. Dear AirVpn Forum Members, Since i am using Airvpn in my work, behind work firewall, my firewall blocks ddwrt open vpn connection. But in my computer I can use AirVpn SSH in my work. All i need please make a tutorial, how we setup ssh + openvpn on to DDWRT routers for airvpn. There is SSH service in DDWRT. I need how we configure it. Could you please show me the configuration of SSH + airvpn openvpn settings for ddwrt router? Best regards,
  25. Hi all, Since upgrading to Windows 10 there is a build-in feature to use a VPN. Had any of you had any luck configuring it? I would like to use the VPN when it's needed and just browse on my normal connection when it's turned off. The browsing speeds were horrible on windows 7 and I had to turn it off everytime and changing the dns to be able to enjoy my 100mbit browsing experience and not a 33k6. Any help/input is appreciated!
