I'm afraid that the only fault that can be found, is found with yourself . Does someone else have access to your computer or do you just download random things? Virtualbox is virtualization software, that allows you to run an operating system, be it Windows, Linux, MacOS or whatever, at the same time as your current OS. Which is useful for testing purposes or playing around with things, as Virtual Machines(VMs) can be reset easily to their original state easily. Did you change both to "obtain automatically", as seen in the picture? What version of Windows are you running? You can also try going to your control panel>Security and resetting Windows Firewall.

Hello! The Virtualbox adapter is naturally from the Virtualbox you must've installed at some point. It can be disabled if you don't need it or just uninstalled entirely. You're probably using the Eddie AirVPN 2.10 client. In which case you may be suffering from a common bug, wherein settings don't get restored upon exit. Go to control panel>networking>change adapter settings>wifi or ethernet adapter properties>>IPv4>>"Obtain DNS and IP automatically">>Click apply . There is an hybrid situation about that. For example under macOS it's now simply called "Eddie" and no more "AirVPN", at least as application name. The long-term direction is to improve the support of other VPN providers (expecially in Eddie 3.*), and in general remove any AirVPN reference (except in the About of course). Oh thanks Clodo. Wow, that's unexpected. Don't you think people will just be confused they downloaded Eddie and not AirVPN then? Also, is your intention to make a substitute OpenVPN client, where other VPN providers can plug in their stuff too? That's how I interpreted it. That would be pretty amazing if it's the case, as the Eddie client is so lovely. Thank you for answering my first question .

That's because you're not using the Beta client, which supports Mono 4 .
-
Hello! Please see the sticky and install the Beta 2.11.x client, not the Stable 2.10 as in your case . Good day.

Hello! This has already been stickied.

Hello! Did you check ipleak.net ? You need to make sure nothing is leaking. Do enable Network Lock, for a quick fix, if you're using Eddie .

Thank you - exactly what I was referring to .

Hello! The VPN hides your traffic. SSL *can* hide the fact that a VPN is being used, by encapsulating the VPN traffic inside SSL, which makes it blend in with regular SSL traffic that a lot of websites now use for security (HTTPS) - but there's other ways of identifying VPN traffic. There's some websites out there which test this specifically. We had a huge thread about it at one point. Either way is fine, as your ISP won't see what you're doing. But SSL/SSH does come with a performance cost . Sent to you from me with datalove

Hello! Why did you suddenly revive a thread from 2014? OpenNic is already supported. This thread should just be locked .

Those overreaching blocking-trolls on wikipedia

Hello! Maybe it's the "cheapest" way of handling their issues. As I understand it, they're quite in need of money, judging by the banner ads you sometimes get when you visit . -
AirVPN Problems after separating normal user and admin
LZ1 replied to just-me's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Well I'm sorry you didn't find the way I wrote the above very nice - I thought I had phrased things in a polite manner and I definitely had no intention of insulting you. I don't feel it's fair (or too nice) to state that what I wrote wasn't nice, when you also tell me not to post and then say you don't even wish to tell me what you found not to be nice, so that I could perhaps elaborate and/or phrase things differently next time. After all, it could easily be a simple misunderstanding . I understood it as you wanted to show that it might not be an account or Avira VPN issue and thus an AirVPN one - which is quite possible, as I stated earlier, as AirVPNs software probably does things differently than Avira software. I also suggested what may fix it and it would be great if you could please provide some feedback on whether they work or not, in case other people run into the same problem - so from my perspective, I've attempted to be nice. Have a good day . -
Hello! I'm not really sure what you mean - AirVPN already supports them financially and users are able to use them as they see fit. I don't think Air would want to add too much "extra" to their VPN service, by for instance making changes to Eddie or something - but that's since I'm assuming adding something to Eddie, which doesn't have to be the case. I think it goes against their philosophy of not adding unnecessary clutter and complication . NOTE FROM STAFF: our VPN DNS already resolve names in OpenNIC and NameCoin namespace (in addition to ICANN namespace, of course)

Hello! Have you tried changing servers then? There can be all manner of, sometimes small, alterations which eventually add up to causing a big disturbance. I assume your torrent client is configured correctly as well . You can check the server status' on the Status page. It would also befit you to post more system information for us, as we don't know your setup . Thanks.

AirVPN Problems after separating normal user and admin
LZ1 replied to just-me's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
You won't get far around here by making comparisons to other VPN services in that manner I'm afraid, when their way of doing things may be completely different and perhaps also have disadvantages Air doesn't have. So it's essentially a little meaningless to say . If you like the other offerings, then by all means, you're free to use them and not use AirVPN . I don't know if this is a bug or not - but I would try to install the experimental client to check. Did you make sure Air wasn't running on the admin account at all (check processes for openvpn.exe too), before running on the standard accounts? I don't understand why running as admin wouldn't work. But it sounds like you installed AirVPN and then separated the accounts, in which case I could imagine that's why there's a problem. Have you tried simply un-installing AirVPN from all accounts and then re-installing it? Starting with the admin account. -

Hello! Doesn't right-clicking the AirVPN.exe and clicking "run as admin" work? -
Torrenting detected by ISP despite VPN?
LZ1 replied to JimRockford's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello! The Eddie client is fine - besides the bugs we know that exist in 2.10 . What sounds like the problem, rather, is that you haven't taken the time to configure your torrenting and corresponding torrent client correctly. If you check my signature or go to the how-to forum, there's guides to torrenting in the new user guide. You don't simply download Eddie, then start a torrent client and that's that . -

Waterfox, a 64-bit Firefox for all major platforms

Hello! Thank you for the update giga, that was nice of you. It's nice to know Waterfox is progressing. -
Hahaha, thank you, I aim to amuse. Despite calling it a Netflix VPN, I must admit that I think even Netflix would feel a little offended if their service was attempted accessed by someone using Ivacy haha! "Sigh, they're not even trying anymore...This was just getting fun *sadface*" - Netflix CEO. Haha. Also, I want to reinforce how crazy that Geektime review actually is, because it's really hilarious if you take a look at the other entries: Ivacy ExpressVPN PureVPN Hola ZenMateNow before you read the Hola part, keep in mind this is for the BEST VPNs of 2016: "One of the most important aspects of Hola is that it’s absolutely free of cost. You don’t have to pay a single penny. Just activate the Hola extension and there you go! The downside to it being free, however, is that it slows down your computer, has basically ho privacy, and uses your computer to power other servers around the world." Imagine how ZenMate must feel. Hola slows you down, exploits your connection and "basically has no privacy", but they're still better than ZenMate! Wow. If this is sarcasm, it's masterful Meanwhile the Pros and Cons list is digital gold: Pros Browser-based VPNFree66 million trusted users30-day money back guaranteeSupports Windows, Mac iOS, Android Cons Keeps user logsNo protection for P2P file sharingIssues in customer support servicesNo security for browsingExtension is a bit buggy Thank God for Hola and their 66 million trusted users . Imagine the nightmares Staff would have, rolling around in bed, sweating, repeating "partition of trust, partition of trust, partition of trust!" Note that it's not Hola who's trusted - it's the users lol. I also wonder how valuable a 30-day money back guarantee is, when the VPN is free! This cons list reads like something I would expect to see in The Onion articles about what to look for in a VPN. The Cons list should really just list one bullet point: You're more secure without Hola. I think that's a pretty serious con, if you're more secure if you don't use a security-related service! Ahhh, this is all so entertaining . I hope zhang888 pays a visit to Ivacy too - it'll be devastating no doubt.

VPN Comparison chart - real competitive analysis effort
LZ1 replied to zhang888's topic in Other VPN competitors or features
now this for sure is the truth. I once googled for hours to find impartial VPN reviews with no luck whatsoever. This goes to show how abysmaly poor a capitalist market really performs - contrary to what MSM economist claim again and again. Well that's a bombastic entry isn't it? Welcome to AirVPN!
