Hello! Did you try using a different protocol? Assuming you're using Eddie.
-
Hello! Welcome to the site. You can read the new user guide in my signature if you would like. We can't tell you if you need it: what's the purpose? In principle there's nothing stopping you from using it. Although the latency may be a little high, as there's no nearby Air servers. I would recommend you familiarise yourself with the software before departure, in case there's questions. It's just a matter of downloading it and connecting to a recommended server .

Hello! Staff, are you going to delete the links/references in Eddie to the Air speedtest in the next iteration? It's a dead link now.

Eddie only to tunnel traffic in a certain browser
LZ1 replied to zammtech's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello! I linked to this in another post. You would use a virtual machine to run Eddie in, while the host machine runs a different browser, without Eddie on the system. Otherwise I don't think it's possible to isolate the connection to a specific browser. If you don't assign many resources to the virtual machine, you could keep it running all the time as well and besides that, restoring from a snapshot where Eddie is already turned on, is quite fast too. -
Hello! It's true Air doesn't log. At the same time, that's also something of a marketing term, because it's used to sell an idea, without being too specific about what it means, for each company. Because there's no official standards in Airs line of business, so a lot of companies can fudge the terms. I'm not sure which data you mean, staying in who's RAM. But you can be quite sure that Air doesn't try to collect and keep data on its users in the way that you're probably worrying about. But since Air is the company your data goes through, it by definition knows some technical things about your usage. This is what it refers to in the page you're thinking about. As you can see, the default is that nothing is shown about you. But if you go to the Top Users section, you will see information from other users. This is good, because it shows Air is being transparent about its infrastructure and it's far from all companies in this business who do that. But as I said, that's just technical information and not, for example, what websites you go to. If you follow the first link, you'll see it explained in-depth and realise there's nothing to worry about. Besides that, you should also note that there's no website tracking either. The only "tracking" done in that regard, is through a closed-loop Piwik implementation (instead of Google Analytics for example.) Lastly, Airs main software, the Eddie client, is fully open-sourced, so that anyone can make sure the software isn't doing something nefarious. Eddie likewise shows you technical information clearly. All that said, if you wish to hide things from Air as well, so that you don't need to trust them as the only one, you can look into using TOR together with Air. But as you can see, Air is doing it right. Good day .

Hello! Welcome to Air! It's brilliant you post your logs as your first post. Thank you for that. You can try going to your Control Panel>Network & Internet and then disabling and then re-enabling the TAP adapter. That used to work for me back then. You may also try going into the properties and un-checking IPv6 protocol, as well as making sure the TAP adapter is set to Obtain addresses automatically in both fields. If none of that helps or you don't get any other replies, you're also welcome to contact Air directly, through the "Contact Us" tab at the top .

Welcome, firstly. What do you mean exactly? You're meant to download it yourself, after paying. You can refer to the New User guide in my signature, if you would like.

Ubuntu Network Lock Deactivated when Eddie Closed
LZ1 replied to ms1SDR4ppBabRSjrP18H's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello! iptables rules restored when you close Eddie: intended and expected. When Eddie crashes, we can't see how it can modify iptables rules or do anything else. Network Lock is a set of iptables and ip6tables rules, please feel free to clarify. Kind regards I'm running Mint 18.3 (or 18.2 and 18.1 and so on in the past) in a VM and as happens sometimes the Eddie GUI crashes, but openvpn is still running. I'll just reboot at this point. When I rebooted in the past the network lock rules were still running because Eddie wasn't shut down properly. But, I've noticed lately that network lock rules are not in place upon reboot. Sounds like I'm seeing the same thing as the OP. Hello! In case it's of any interest and you don't want to reboot for some reason, you can open the System Monitor go to Processes and search for "Mono" and then "openvpn". Killing both, will enable you to restart Eddie without a hitch. I can't speak to the security of it . -
Added the change in allowed connections, going from 3 to 5. Changed references to 3 connections elsewhere.Added some guidance on how to get started with cryptocurrencies, to the guides section.Added [How-To] AirVPN via SSL/stunnel on Android 6/7/8 to guides section, courtesy of sheivoko. Thank you.Added/fixed sentences here and there, for clarity, while deleting references to outdated clients and content.Added a little info disclaimer, to put people on notice regarding Airs stance on getting access to geo-restricted content. Added links for users of Windows/Linux/MacOS to find out which OS they're running specifically and updated the "Getting Started" section, to correspond better to the Your Setup page.Added clarification on Experimental clients, as well as login names not being changeable. Cleaned up some points in the "Getitng Started" section, to make it more readable. Deleted Glassnost link due to deprecation, courtesy of poster Jefkim666. Thank you.Deleted references to Air speedtest. Air took away this feature, due to its unreliability and the many questions and complaints about it. It may or may not be replaced.Added a new point to the "First Questions" section about Airs sales/discounts. I thought it was about time this got a question dedicated to it, as it keeps being asked: - Since AirVPN isn't free, is it possible to buy a Lifetime subscription, as with other VPNs? Does AirVPN hold sales at all? AirVPN does not sell Lifetime subscriptions, period. Simply because it's too costly and wouldn't make sense for a high-quality service like this. There's basically 3 sales a year. Airs Birthday, Black Friday and Christmas; potentially with New Year and Cyber Monday added, to prolong the sale period. All sales are typically around 1 week long and discount all subscription plans. The % discount is fixed at the rates seen below. AirVPN's Christmas sale has a discount of: 20%. Sometime around the 20th December.AirVPN's Birthday sale has a discount of: 25%. Sometime around the 30th May/June.AirVPN's Black Friday sale has a discount of: 35%. Sometime around 20th November. The timing of the sales is roughly the same each year as well. Simply keep an eye on the announcement forum to catch the sale. What if you miss the sale you wanted? Well, then you'll just need to wait until the next one, unfortunately . @De Facto Pantalones: I'm not sure what to tell you. But I'm inclined to think that for someone as curious as you, a single answer wouldn't be as satisfactory as the journey itself . The only thing I could tell you at this point is "Switch to Linux" and "Get a Turris Omnia to fool around with?" . You would adore how Eddie runs on Linux. Just look at that DNS handling, compared to Windows @CheckMade: Thank you. Here's to hoping it'll be just as useful in 2018. @Miran2017: Haha, great. A belated welcome to you. If there's any other issues or doubts, please don't hesitate to ask the community or Air support . @Hexane: A belated welcome to you too! Thankyou. Yes, you may want to look into traffic splitting or otherwise using a virtual machine setup. Then you could run things on the Host machine outside, while using Air from inside the virtual machine. Other similar guides. Simply check ipleak.net to see what your IP is, in the end. Here's another similar guide. But first it would be prudent to find out which servers work for you and perhaps trying out different protocol combinations, by changing things in the Eddie client. Needless to say, other common measures such as using a wired connection and/or a good router are also recommended . Otherwise I don't think there's a super-easy one-click way to whitelist apps as you suggest, no. Unless you want to play around with Eddies Preferences>Routes section; but this quickly gets impractical for some apps I think. You can also check out this small thread on split tunneling. Sorry for the late replies. I try not to post too much in this thread, so that it won't bother too many people. Happy New Year .

Hello! You can submit a support ticket on the Contact Us page, if this issue persists. It's not unusual for there to be issues with Paypal from time to time.

Hello! Counting on anonymity simply because you use this 1 product is erroneous and I'd suggest you research how this works, further . Regardless of which location you pick, they all follow the same Air standards. So in that regard there's no difference in security. It also depends on who you're thinking of. A couple of Internet ads or getting access to a Youtube song? You're fine in terms of being "traced". At least compared to some three-letter agency, then all bets are off. If you intend on torrenting, then I think it's normally recommended not to choose your own country location, just as an extra measure. But thanks to Airs micro-routing, you do NOT need to connect to UK locations to get access to UK content. But these days, access to BBC iPlayer is sketchy at best, non-existent at worst. You can check the blocked sites section of the forum for this, as it has been dealt with a lot.So it really depends on what you're trying to do and what you mean with trace/monitored. So you may need to specify. But at least you're much better guarded against your ISP, by using Airs product. You can check the links in the last sections of the new user guide if you wish, in the "Other Noteworthy Resources" section, if you want to read up on some things. But I suppose if you want a really simplified answer without qualifying information, then the answer would need to be "no". With torrenting, as with anything, you need to take proper precautions. In the case of torrenting, that includes using the right settings with your torrent client to get the most out of it. You can find references to this in the guides section of the new user guide in my signature.

network lock can't turn on until Eddie starts up. if you really must not have any network activity outside the VPN tunnel then turn off your wifi or unplug your ethernet until Eddie is running and network lock is activated. Will do. My primary concern was my torrent client starting up with Windows, but I've switched that setting off. Thanks! Hello! If I'm not mistaken, that can be mitigated by binding the torrent client in question - I'm thinking of qBittorent here - to a tun0 interface.

Recommended Servers / Countries for BitTorrent from EU
LZ1 replied to dbuero's topic in General & Suggestions
Hello! I don't think there's realistically any *recommended* ones really. It depends on your own preferences and circumstances, as they're all treated equally by Air It's more important that you configure your client(s) correctly, rather than which Air node you connect to. In terms of security, at least. -
Hello! It can be disregarded. Such is the nature of paid and/or biased reviews. It's the same story across multiple sites. From a different angle - such as quality and features - one could also argue Air is the cheapest for what you get.
-
You select a port number on this site and then plug the same number into the torrent client. Following some other changes to the client - such as making sure it doesn't change the port - is also explained in some of the Torrenting guides which I also linked to further down in the new user guide.

Well there's a couple of reasons: It shows Air's Staff how many many may be experiencing problem X.Despite the fact that you experience the same as someone else, the actual causes may still be different. Hence detailed logs and so on, are necessary. It shows Air's Staff how many may still be experiencing problem X after Y time. Say, after a patch. The second point is particularly good to keep in mind, because when there's been many times in the past where many people experience issue X and they all proceed to post what could almost be called Tech's answer to #MeToo, in the main thread. Which means Air and the community can see that Y amount of people are experiencing X issue, but can't determine if they're all due to the same thing, happening on the same platform(s) and whatnot, because either few or no one supplied any detailed information on their setup or what they had each tried to do to fix the issue.

Hello! I don't know if you can get it working from a Canadian one. But rather than let you go on without any replies at all, you can check the blocked sites guide in my signature. Feedback on it would be highly appreciated, thanks.
-
Hello! You may find some useful information if you check the blocked sites guide in my signature. If something is missing from it or something worked, I would also appreciate the feedback .
-
Hello! Welcome to Air . I don't know why that's happening, but I would suggest that you use something other than what your ISP puts forth. Yahoo has had quite the breaches of security in recent years as well.
-
No worries. Yes I see you posted before, but it's a wonder then, why you didn't bump the aforementioned topic, since it contains more useful feedback. Ideally, each of our problems would always be fixed within a short time, as we each feel they're the most pressing . But multiple other problems are being dealt with at the same time in each update and some may be more critical than the problem you're currently facing. You can for instance also see how they acknowledge the problem, as they in update 2.13.4 added this for MacOS: Which could suggest it's not too easy to fix, because more information is needed. The best you can do is to submit support tickets, try to get around the issue and post about any useful or interesting things you tried, much as others did in the aforementioned link. Because one of the main things which enable Air to fix an issue, is to be able to replicate the issue on their own test machines, so they can see which fixes work and which don't.

Hello! Welcome! You can check out the new user guide in my signature if you wish, as it contains a lot of information you may find useful .

Hello! If you want professional help, why don't you submit a support ticket from the Client Area? These are just the ordinary forums.
-
Hello! How about you start by upgrading to the latest client, 2.13.6 and then we'll take it from there if there's still an issue, as you're something like 6 updates behind
