  1. in Eddie DNS switching should be automatic to 10.4.0.1
  2. just browse this web site with your iOS device and go to the config generator in your client area.
  3. you're probably 100% right about what the VPN provider does. I just had no idea where else to look.
  4. Another VPN provider of mine has a server with these guys in Dallas. https://www.incero.com/ I priced a cheap server but with a gigabit unmetered line and it's still $2245 per month. That's not cheap! The same setup but with a 100TB plan (not unmetered) is $545 per month.
  5. Sure, but TorGuard says they allow 5 connections from anywhere. Of course, I'm not arguing that Air should increase the number of connections they allow. I'm just curious about this use case as read on reddit.
  6. interesting. TorGuard replied and said the 5 simultaneous connections are allowed from anywhere. So I'm curious why their account was suspended.
  7. power users will be able to fix this block themselves with policy routing. I found that if I route api.vudu.com, startup.vudu.com, 208.79.221.221 to my WAN instead of AirVPN gateway vudu works via web page and roku 4.
  8. first you'll need to create configs with resolved hosts so that you don't get blocked straight away at DNS resolution.
  9. Might as well resurrect this old thread. Using Air DNS, connected to server Auva with my pfsense box, I cannot access Vudu on my roku 4. I get a 1:200 error which is usually given to people who try to connect from outside the USA. If I try to watch a movie on the vudu website I get error 5000, seen by another user above. thanks. edit: tested three other servers in USA for playback on the vudu web site - Alkaid, Cursa, Azha. none work.
  10. you can connect both devices to the same server but if using the same server you can't use the same server port.
  11. There is only one openvpn client for iOS. The official one, openvpn connect. Apps made by VPN companies usually use the protocols built into iOS (e.g. L2TP/IPsec). It's very easy to add AirVPN configs to openvpn connect. Just browse the config generator section of this web site with your iOS device
  12. http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest my suggestion is to use the link there and set up a test that mimics a VPN connection. if you see options for running the test encrypted, do it. go into the settings for the test, select just one server near the VPN server. See what speed you get with that test. I suspect that you won't see (much) above 10mbit/s.
  13. yes!!!! and this is a surprise. I didn't see it coming in the checking routes page.
  14. so I'm looking at switching to duckduckgo since startpage no longer has the best results. however, I regularly use startpage's options to search based on time - last year, last week, last 24 hours, etc. is there a way to do that with duckduckgo?
  15. they do it so that they can control how users use their network. it's not malicious. the reason is liability.
  16. Only other people that are in India could tell you about international speeds via VPN tunnel to nearby nations. I wouldn't have my hopes high but it wouldn't be the fault of AirVPN. Quite often international gateways are just overloaded and/or throttled. If banking web sites block VPNs then you may have a problem. Again, this wouldn't be the fault of AirVPN. Every VPN that I know of uses a shared IP for all the users on a given server.
  17. I think this is a matter of ISP throttling. But, testing to nearer servers is in order first.
  18. What alternative to whatsapp are you using? why whatsapp? it seems to be encrypted such that governments want to ban it.
  19. AirVPN can only control their servers and to some extent the datacenter. There is a whole lot of internet between you and the server which could be blamed instead of griping at Air. If the Swedish servers have poor latency then use other servers to which your ISP has better connectivity.
  20. either open up a support ticket or be more detailed here. paste eddie logs (in spoiler tags) and describe the situation that causes trouble. Public wifi??
  21. does it try checking authorization several times? I've seen in certain circumstances eddie trying several times for authorization and then moving on to connect.
  22. I'm wondering why it's so difficult to find good servers in the U.S. Is it AirVPN's policy of desiring all kinds of connections? I just want to hide my computer details and location. I'm not interested in downloading pirated movies, music, etc. Another issue that has been getting on my nerves is getting a restart when I attempt to connect to a server in the U.S. I've submitted a support request regarding this issue. At this point, I too am considering looking at another provider. The USA is a larger nation than most so it's relatively difficult for AirVPN to provide quality service. For example, all the Netherlands servers are in one city. That wouldn't be prudent in the USA. I think that Air has done an excellent job in finding so many different datacenters that fit their criteria (net neutrality, bandwidth, location) in the USA.
  23. Mmm bad choice.Let use asus as AP only and let pfSense do routing/firewalling and VPN....pfSense does them a lot better than any other consumer box. I use my Netgear R7000 as AP only. Another advise, avoid Realtek NIC.....pfSense should work fine but better Intel NIC. but pfSense is also half a fortune where netgear you can get for free with most ISPs here. half a fortune?? I built a pfsense box for $127 USD. That's cheaper than a good consumer router. cheapest AMD APU the store had but still has AES-NI, motherboard that was free after rebate, refurb HDD, cheap 2GB stick of RAM, cheap case, and an extra NIC that I already owned. So, maybe you can't find the same type of stores where you are but it still shouldn't be half a fortune. If you read my later posts as well, I pointed out how even if I were to build myself the import prices would be insane, but if you like I'd be happy to hear the exact specs you used and I'll find the cheapest of them I can, but stores here don't sell seperate hardware it's always import already posted in the setup thread. https://airvpn.org/topic/17444-how-to-set-up-pfsense-23-for-airvpn/?p=40268
