If I use the Preferences --> Routes option in Eddie (2.12.4) to specify an IP address I want to use outside the VPN, it works fine, as expected. But if I then add another IP address or range to the list, the new one I just added works fine, but the first one will no longer connect at all—I can't even ping the address. I tried reversing the two IPs, that is, changing their order in the list. The same thing happened: the one I enter first works fine until I add a second. Then the second works, but not the first. Any ideas how I can get both entries to work outside the VPN? Thanks.

I’ve been using AirVPN for a long time, I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon either. Just a quick question really, why doesn’t AirVPN software (Eddie) have an update notification? Each time a newer version comes out I have to stumble upon it from either the forums or by checking the latest version on the download page. Is there a reason? Is it already implemented but I’m just not seeing it? If it’s not yet been implemented, are there any plans to implement it. Just a little notification that informs you of a newer version.

Hello, I am having trouble setting up a Minecraft game server using AirVPN. I have used AirVPN's port forwarding service and successfully forwarded and opened up a port of my choice and selected the games local port of 25565. I checked this using canyouseeme.org to test this was the case, it was up. I booted up the server and found that i couldn't connected via the port / public exit IP and it just lead to a weird timing out on the ping and leading to a lack of connection for the server. I knew the server was up as i had a local connection to it which showed it was up. I wondered if there was an issue with packets getting lost / dropped so I did a tracert to see if i could see where the connection was going and that worked fine with no issues at all. Then I checked to see if there was anything going on with AIrVPN or maybe my internet provider was being overly strict so i changed to SSL applies caps or blocks lower ip ranges etc. Same result no connection, I tried multiple ways of setting it up and always got the same result of it timing out. Maybe it was my software so I disabled all firewalls / everything and tried it across multiple machines with fresh hardware and on different operating systems. Same issue nothing was working. Tried multiple ways and getting the local connection via ipconfig on my adapter and binding the IP to the minecraft server interface. Still nothing, tried changing the ports of the server interface still nothing. I gave dynamic DNS a go to see if i could circumvent this issue completely with it and still not working. I am really at a loss and have no clue how to fix this any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading. Additional Details: - All internet works fine with/without airVpn. - Yes i am connected to a airvpn server and have tried multiple of their servers. - Yes I have restarted / shutdown pc's after installing to give it a "chance" - Yes the port is up and i can see its up via canyouseeme.org - Yes i gave time for the dynamic dns to change and update its entries. - I have tried three different operating systems including Linux. Windows server and desktop. - Connecting via Ethernet cable. - No problems connecting to airvpn servers. - College/University wifi.

I'm using Eddie 2.13.6 and have been experiencing random disconnects every few hours. I use UK servers but no matter which im connected to it will always drop the connection at some point normally after an hour or so. Once it's dropped it will re-connect no problem but just abit annoying its happening in the first place. Any one know how to fix this?

Hello, I'm using Arch Linux. I installed eddie from the AUR repositories and have tried the official release to the same effect. I log in and try to connect to a server. setup: headless ubuntu 14.01 command: sudo /usr/bin/airvpn -cli -login='xxxx' -password='xxxxx' -connect -netlock problem: my subscription lapsed and when disconnected the netlock didn't work. got about 10 torrent dmca warnings. lol i have also seen this problem one other time. I noticed that when i had no download limit set on my torrent app and it reached a certain limit my connection would die. Im guessing on the server side. I set a limit of 9mb down and that fixed it. When it would disconnect again the netlock didn't work. I know the root of the problem is my procrastination but it would be cool if the netlock still protected me.

I'm running macOS 10.12.2 and find that the Eddie client is very slow when it comes to disconnecting, or closing or changing servers. Often is will take 30 seconds or more to disconnect, and sometimes has to go through all 4 connection attempts before it will disconnect. As soon as I click 'disconnect' why doesn't the client immediately terminate. Instead it seems like it continues to wait for some kind of response from the server. It's annoying to say the least, especially when I have to try multiple different servers to get a connection. If I try say 5 servers that's 2 and half minutes just sitting their waiting for the client to disconnect.

Hi, I'm getting an error when trying to connect on Windows 10. It says: "OpenVPN: Route gateway is not reachable on any active network adapters: 10.4.0.1". It didn't do this when I first installed AirVPN Client. How can I fix this? Thanks

​ ​ ​Hi, ​ ​I went to this page https://airvpn.org/linux/ selected Linux, 64bit, Debian/Ubuntu, Graphical UI, and then downloaded the file "eddie-ui_2.12.4_linux_x64_debian.deb". ​ ​So then I right clicked & selected "open with software install"​, then selected "Install" and nothing happens. It does not install. ​ I'm new to Ubuntu/Linux and I'm just wondering if someone can point me to a guide or can help me solve this issue. I am facing the dreaded DNS issue that is caused by not exiting Eddie properly, which in the case of Linux Mint, is due to Eddie crashing frequently (there is a long thread about this). There is also a long thread about the DNS issue, but that thread is all about Windows and provides no step-by-step instuctions for Linux users who encounter this. ​This is the resolv.conf file on a Linux Mint PC that is able to connect to the internet with Eddie (AND network lock) turned OFF. In other words, this is what my resov.conf file should be when I disconnect from Eddie: ​ However, this is what my resolv.conf file looks like when I exit Eddie now: ​ There is no nameserver, and adding it manually does nothing to resolve the issue. How can I fix this so the resolv.conf file is restored correctly? I need to be able to access the internet when Eddie is disconnected. Thanks.

Linux Mint 18.2 Mate Kernel 4.11.0-14 Eddie 2.13.4 After the update to 2.13.4 Eddie told me to disable ipv6. So I did. GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="ipv6.disable=1" now I can't activate network lock anymore.

So i've used AirVPN for about a week and the speeds have been really bad, i originally have a 100/100 connection but when connected to any server low or high load i get terrible speeds like 300kb or less. I've set my buffer size to 256 and 512 and both do pretty much nothing. Not trying to shit on air but imo that isn't acceptable speeds at all. I am currently using a netgear r7000 router (I am not very network knowing so try and explain it in the easiest way possible) thanks.

Hi all I've noticed a slightly strange effect associated with my new Virgin cable connection which I'm trying to explain. If I connect to Airvpn using the Eddie client from my MacBook, default settings - 443 UDP, I get almost my full connection speed (200mbit). Happy days. However I have just set up my Linux server and if I connect using openvpn from the command line to 443 UDP I get about 10% of my normal speed. About 20mbit. However, if I connect to port 80 through SSH, I get the full 200Mbit again. Exactly the same happens when I connect my openwrt router - 20Mbit through UDP 443. It looks like Virgin are throttling VPN connections, which wouldn't surprise me, and pushing my connection through SSH gets around this. My question is - why is Eddie able to get full speed through UDP 443, whereas my server can't? Is Eddie doing something clever to get around the traffic shaping and if so, can I tweak my openvpn settings to make my server do the same? I'd rather not be pushing everything through SSH if I can avoid it. Anyone got any bright ideas? Thanks R

Hello I'm new to AirVPN and VPN's in general so my apologies in advance for the myriad of dumb questions I will probably ask. I did try searching for my particular issue, but couldn't find anything I am running Eddie 2.12.4 on openSUSE 13.2, I activate Network Lock on startup. In preferences I disabled Allow lan/private and ping. IPv6 is set to disable in the Advanced Settings section. Everything starts out working great. I go to ipleak.net everything looks good (no ipv6) I go to test-ipv6.com everything ipv6 fails, then about 10-15 mins in if I go back to either of those sites it can now see my ipv6. What's going on here?

On macOS, Eddie often fails reconnecting to AirVPN when recovering from sleeping mode. Either Eddie crashes completely or the routing checking fails.

Hey all, This is my second Day with AirVPN. I'm merely testing the water so I've signed up for 3 days. Initially I was drawn by the famous Network Lock, however right now it seems to be causing me trouble. Anyway, here's what I want to do. I would like to use tunnel only on certain sites. Therefore, I have been using the "Routes" option in the Eddie preference tab. From there, I've set the "Note Specified Routes go:" to Outside of Tunnel. All the sites that I want to be accessing through the tunnel are added to the list with the Action "Inside the VPN Tunnel". Everything works as expected and I've been testing with Ipleak.net to make sure. From there, I noticed the little message that says "Ip in 'Outside of Tunnel' are also unlocked When Netowrk Lock is active'", which according to my understanding means that even with NL active, if a certain ip is set to be Outside the Tunnel, it will remain accesible. Correct me if I'm wrong. Therefore, with my current setup, every single site should still be accessible with NL on, and only the sites that are specifically listed to "Inside Tunnel" should lose their connection upon VPN failure. Correct? However, it seems that when I turn on NL. I lose Access to every single site, whether they be Inside or Outside the Tunnel. Is this a bug, or I'm I just massively misunderstanding this. I could go with regular windows Iptables, but I'd rather use Eddie as it's much more user friendly. Thanks in Advance!

After installing the AirVPN client, during the first run my Windows 10 system BSOD'd with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I believe it was at a run-time step involving a tunnel creation or something along those lines. I didn't get to read all the text before I BSOD'd. This was the first BSOD on this host which has been up and running like a champ for at least a couple of years. I have run across transient crashes on systems before that didn't seem to have any residual or repeatable effects, however since the install of the AirVPN tool, things have NOT been the same. My CPU fan is perpetually clocking at 100%, task manager shows constant system interrupts (sometimes consuming 10% CPU), and the whole system is unstable, unusable and jumpy. I am so frustrated with myself for installing Eddie versus an unadulterated version of OpenVPN when all my instincts were screaming against it. I have tried uninstalling the client, network devices and a roll-back via system recovery (which always fails, cause thanks Microsoft). Is there anything else we know about that is performed during the install of the AirVPN client? Some other network or configuration changes that would not be rolled back while uninstalling? I opened a ticket but based on some of the other forum responses I am not very optimistic about a timely reply.

Hi, Joined up last week and was running things with TunnelBlick for a bit with no problems. Then got a bit curious about the extra functionality I might get from the in-house client Eddie. Which in turn led to thinking that the network lock for me would be a good plan since the VPN is for a computer/file server that will be unattended most of the time so it would be nice to have a failsafe. With it on a number of apps stopped being able to sync of connect. First Google couldn't sign me in, then MEGAsync stopped connecting. After that the Dropbox Client stopped syncing all the while the internet worked fine. Finally my PLEX server crashed and refused to open again. I turned off Network lock and restarted Eddie, but that didn't make things better. I restarted the mac, I have deleted the location profile and made a fresh connection to my router, I spotted that Network lock works along the lines of the Mac Firewall so I turned mine on thinking this might over-ride whatever was going on and individually added all the programs that couldn't connect to the Firewall 'allowed' list. This has only fixed Dropbox..... Can I assume that Eddie has left behind some script somewhere that I need to delete?? Eoin (MacBook Air OSX 10.12)

I am running Windows 10 64 bit and have been using airvpn for about six months now. I have had occasional problems with the GUI failing to reappear after closing the interface and up till now killing the procedures in explorer and restarting the program, or simply restarting the machine entirely, has resolved the issue. As of this morning, I run airvpn and no GUI displays AT ALL so I have zero control over my VPN. I can't set network lock nor can I even tell if my VPN is on or off. Restarting and killing the procedures doesn't help like they used to. This is very frustrating. I ran Glary utilities quick system clean/fix as I do regularly and this problem appeared immediately thereafter. I love airvpn - consider it best vpn option out there but now if I can't resolve this issue in a timely manner I can't think of any solution but a switch to one of the less reputable ( really it seems most all these companies except air are simply 'me too's' in it for quick bucks and how can you trust them? ) options out there. Hello, I pay for 25mbps (3.125 MB/s) speed through my ISP. I am not able to sustain download speeds above 100 KB/s. It should be 30 times faster, minus the inevitable geographic distance or extra nodes on the route. why is it so slow? also, why, when I connect to Miami, i am about 10% faster than when Eddie automatically chooses the Toronto servers? I am in Massachusetts. I tried OpenVPN, which is far more responsive, but the speeds are not always faster. AirVPN Eddie client is slow always. current i am getting 110KB/s on OpenVPN, but not enjoying the DNS protection. -sanc

I am new and not sure how to use this. I have paid for the service and have an account set up already. I am trying to set up the open vpn gui but whenever I click the generate button it only opens a notepad document and that is all. Is this correct? What am I supposed to do with this? Any help would be nice, thanks. -Dave

Hi, my setup is a fresh install of Debian 9 and i run Eddie in an lxde session. everything works perfect, except the dns. Sometimes it seems to work at first but that's always right after you did reconnect to the vpn, so idk what that means. Perhaps any other application editing iptables etc? i didn't find anything like that, at least for now. would be really nice if someone has any idea here if you need any files just ask and I post Edit: some more information: i already tested all the DNS modes(auto and the 2 "linux only" ones), none work. I also tried to add a dns myself but nothing worked
