  1. Hello! Eddie 2.10.1 Experimental is now out. With Control M you can open the menu, with Control P you can open the Preferences window and with Control A you can open the "About" window. Eddie 2.10.1 can be downloaded in the usual download page: click "Other versions" then select "Experimental". Yes, you're right. The developer is aware of this problem. Some more time is needed to fix that. Thank you very much, please feel free to keep sending us your feedback: it is very much appreciated and always kept into consideration. Kind regards
  2. Hello, thanks everybody! We opted to force in the new Eddie 2.10.1 Experimental 128 kB size buffers by default. There is a new option that allows the user to select, for each buffer, OpenVPN Default, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512 kB, in addition of course to the option to edit directives. 128 kB size buffers at the moment seem the best compromise between latency (which is not compromised at all) and performance. Only users with slow lines (dial-up or ISDN lines) could probably prefer to set smaller buffers. Kind regards
  3. Hello! Our free and open source client Eddie 2.10.1 Experimental is now available. Feel free to test it, it includes several bugfixes from version 2.9.2 Stable. Remember that it's an experimental version which passed alpha testing but is still in beta testing. If you wish to test it, you can download it in the download page for your system. Click "Other versions" then select "Experimental". Your feedback will be very much appreciated. Changelog: https://airvpn.org/services/changelog.php?software=client&format=html Kind regards UPDATE 13-Aug-15: Eddie 2.10.3 Experimental is now available https://airvpn.org/topic/14491-eddie-2101-experimental-available/?p=30952
  4. Hello, https://airvpn.org/topic/14326-question-regarding-airvpns-your-ip Kind regards
  5. Hello, we do not detect any problem in port forwarding. For additional support please feel free to open a ticket. Remember: replies on the forum by someone from the Staff can maybe be posted and maybe not. Only through tickets you will receive support for sure and in a definite time. Kind regards
  6. Thanks, good to know and clarify. We had reports that showed the opposite, probably some user's mistake. Kind regards
  7. Hello, this button has always been available since the very first Eddie alpha and beta releases... It's the big central button in the main Eddie window "Connect to a recommended server". That button causes Eddie to connect to the highest rated server. If a white list is defined, it will connect to the highest rated server in the white list. Kind regards
  8. Hello @mcurrale, thank you for the information. We are resolute to solve the issue. Eddie developer will start studying the problem in the next hours. Incidentally, the next client Eddie version (2.10.1 Experimental) should be released in the next days, and Eddie developer has promised to insert at least hot keys to mitigate the issue. In spite of the stringent time frame, we will try also to test Jaws to improve Eddie before the new release. The main menu can currently be opened only by clicking a button that has no text (it's pure graphics), maybe this the cause of the problem. There are various items, including "Preferences", in the aforementioned menu. It's the "Preferences" item that opens up a window with important tabs: General, Protocols, Proxy, Routes and Advanced, in a new window. These tabs have the same format than the usual tabs Overview, Servers, etc. of the main window, so Jaws should hopefully have no problems once you can use hot-keys, for example Control + M to open the menu and Control + P to open the Preferences window directly. Kind regards
  9. @giganerd That might be not enough with Kaspersky in case OpenVPN connects in UDP (which is the most common usage); it is necessary to disable UDP flood protection for the previously mentioned reasons. Kind regards
  10. Hello, please check your system DNS settings and make sure that at least a publicly accessible nameserver is configured in your physical network card. How to change DNS servers in Windows 8: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/fl/change-dns-servers-windows-8.htm Kind regards
  11. We don't recommend this software, because it's closed sourceInstall OpenVPN Client for Android. Launch your internet browser. NOTE: don't use the default Android browser because it has an unresolved bug. Chrome and Opera have been tested by us and work.Connect to AirVPN website, login and create the configuration files from our Config Generator. Choose Linux as platform (only direct TCP and UDP connections are supported) and finally click then "Generate" button to download it.Downloaded .ovpn files may be imported directly into the application but the behavior depends on many factors (employed browser, files manager, Android version, etc). For simplicity's sake, we assume in this guide that you saved .ovpn generated files under the Download's directory in the Android filesystem.Open OpenVPN Client and tap the bottom right "+" button: Tap the "Import VPN Profile" button: Locate your .ovpn files, click on the configuration file you want to import: Long press on the profile to change the configuration (optional): Once done click on the top right save button (optional): Click on profile's switch button to connect: A warning from the Android OS is displayed, click OK to continue: Now you are connected to the selected profile, when you need to disconnect from the VPN click on the "Disconnect" button from the app's notification:
  12. Hello! You need to click the "AirVPN" big button on the top left corner and then select "Preferences" from the menu. Do colors on that button offer bad (too low) contrast? After you have selected "Preferences", you need to click the "Advanced" tab which is the right-most tab. Kind regards
  13. Hello, thank you for your great feedback! We wish to address the issue as soon as possible. Can you please describe the problem with more details to make us understand how to fix it? Kind regards
  14. Hello! Please note that from your last logs your system is NOT connected to the VPN because of this error: Mon Jun 08 21:30:18 2015 All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use. Mon Jun 08 21:30:18 2015 Exiting due to fatal error This is usually caused by a disabled tun/tap interface (the virtual network adapter used by OpenVPN). Make sure to re-enable it, otherwise you will never be able to connect to the VPN. You might like to run our free and open source client Eddie for additional security checks for these cases and many more. Eddie provides Network Lock and a route and DNS checks at the connection, warning you clearly if something has gone wrong. The fact that you experienced different performance while in reality your system was not connected to any VPN server remains unexplained. Kind regards
  15. Hello! Maybe the firewall settings have not been not restored properly. Try to reset the Windows firewall while the client Eddie is not running (important). Kind regards
  16. Hello, when you connect OpenVPN in UDP, all of your traffic (incoming and outgoing) is wrapped in UDP. This triggers (wrongly) UDP anti-flood and anti-scan security systems, as Kaspersky is reporting. Disable such systems, when you're in the VPN, or connect in TCP (at the price of a performance hit). Kind regards
  17. Same here it directs google to Israel, will this be fixed? Hello! Well... how are we supposed to know? Ask Google, it's a Google problem (or maybe your system problem?) not ours. Server IP addresses are geo-located in Pennsylvania from WHOIS, MaxMind and several other IP geo-location databases. That said, we do not see the problem you report, but that can depend on potentially different Google services that are accessed, not necessarily depending on your system. Browse to the No Country Redirect page as a work-around: https://www.google.com/ncr Kind regards
  18. Hello, curious indeed... 204.194.237.19 is not an IP address of ours (it seems to be assigned to Direct Media LLC) and server2.lax.airvpn.org is not an existing name. How it was defined on your system and how could it resolve into that IP address remains to be investigated, but only you can do it. Kind regards
  19. Hello, as a first attempt to improve performance it is necessary to enlarge OpenVPN buffers: Sun Jun 07 21:31:49 2015 Socket Buffers: R=[8192->8192] S=[8192->8192] 8 kB are too few for a 50 Mbit/s line. Use the following directives to enlarge send and receive buffers to 128 kB: sndbuf 131072 rcvbuf 131072 You can add them in the Configuration Generator as custom directives (click "Advanced Mode" then add those lines in the "Custom directives" field). If you run our client Eddie, you can add them in "AirVPN" -> "Preferences" -> "Advanced" -> "OVPN Directives". Future Eddie versions will implement by default a larger buffer. Please keep us posted, if the problem is not resolved there are additional attempts to try (changing connection mode). Kind regards
  20. Hello, the article is from 2012, can T-Mobile customers confirm that this behavior is still in place? Our default OpenVPN mode is UDP, not TCP. What happens with OpenVPN in UDP mode, in TCP mode, and OpenVPN over SSH and over SSL? Kind regards
  21. Hello, it seems closed source so a definite answer can't be given. Probably they use one of the methods we have explained. Note that WebRTC is prevented by our free and open source client through firewall rules, but that you can easily apply a different method to prevent them with custom directives. See also http://www.clodo.it/blog/an-alternative-approach-to-so-called-webrtc-leaks They offer a tunneling service with light traffic encryption (RC4 with 1024 bit size RSA keys) which must NOT be used if security is require. They do not provide other relevant technical information. We can't find their software source code. We can't find the name of the operating company (if any), we can't find the name of the legally responsible person for the treatment of personal data, and we see that they collect users data allegedly for marketing purposes. Kind regards
  22. In this case you can't use Network Lock. However, if Eddie can't enable Windows Firewall (when Network Lock is on) it will warn you. Conflicts may arise and your experience seems to confirm that. Kind regards
  23. Hello, we're sorry, our service is based on OpenVPN which is currently not available for Blackberry. Kind regards
  24. Hello! We're very glad to inform you that a new 1 Gbit/s server located in Philadelphia, PA (USA) is available: Metallah. The AirVPN client will show automatically the new server, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access them through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator"). The server accept connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 2018 UDP and TCP. Just like every other Air server, Metallah supports OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH. As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses. Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue. Kind regards and datalove AirVPN Team
  25. Of course, that's expected. Running two firewalls at the same time will inevitably cause unpredictable behavior. You have two programs running with unlimited privileges which compete to access and modify the Network layer of the TCP/IP stack. Outcome of such competition is in most cases catastrophic under a security point of view. Kind regards
