    Eddie Desktop 2.18beta released

Please report something: message error, log... Fixed in 2.18.2. Fixed in 2.18.2. In any combination of IPv6 disable: sysctl or grub. Fixed in 2.18.2 Cannot reproduce. In 2.18.2 we also improved some layout, but in any test System notifications are showed, in our Notifications area of the sidebar too. Please recheck. Cannot reproduce. Sometimes, if you close the window with the X button, menu takes some seconds to update, but works coherently. If we use the minimize button, it looks always fine. Please recheck. Quick: Yes, now it's default. Yes: Profile file (~/.config/eddie/default.profile) now can be encrypted with OS keyring or a custom master password. I don't remember the specific forum topic, I think you can try Automatic. This need more investigation. Please report OS of the laptop, connection info (what servers) etc. Windows resize: Cannot reproduce. Please recheck. Does anyone else have this issue? Yes, if you use the installer, it's automatic. Otherwise check in Preferences the installation of the service, to avoid password input every time. In Preferences you can enable Network Lock at startup. Absolutely, there was a bug. Fixed in 2.18.2. Please download the .xz edition for Arch, install with "pacman -U xxx.xz". Official AUR repo will be updated soon, for this beta stage download manually from Download page. This is IMPORTANT. We cannot reproduce the issue on our labs, on "10.15 Beta (19A4871) - macOS Catalina". We added some logs lines to identify the issues. If the problem occurs again with 2.18.2, please open a ticket with the full support log (Logs -> Support icon). Thanks. Correct, now UI is totally separated from an executable/daemon (launchd) that performs elevated actions. With launchd daemon, it's not expected anymore the prompt every time. Please report any issue.

    Eddie Desktop 2.18beta released

Hello! We're very glad to inform you that a new Eddie Air client version has been released: 2.18beta. It is ready for public beta testing. How to test our experimental release: Go to download page of your OS Click on Other versions Click on Experimental Look at the changelog if you wish Download and install Please see the changelog: https://eddie.website/changelog/?software=client&format=html In this release, we changed all source code from the ground up, to separate what needs superuser privileges and what not. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS AS A BETA VERSION. Don't use it for real connection, it's only for those who want to collaborate to the project as beta-tester. We hope to raise now the frequency of feedback replies here and Eddie releases.

    Eddie Desktop 2.18beta released

Confirmed: it manage the deactivation with sysctl, but not detect the deactivation via Grub. Will be fixed in next release, expected in few days (based on other feedbacks). In the mean-time if you want, disable ALSO with sysctl (net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1) to bypass the issue above. Thanks

    Eddie Desktop 2.18beta released

Hello! This is excellent news. But you added an unusual warning at the end, which seems unusual. Wondering if it'll spread more FUD than necessary and perhaps not get you the same amount of feedback, in return. Anyway, it's working for me so far. The only minor errors, are UI texts. Not bad Staff :). Here's the changes, for anyone who doesn't want to follow the links:

    AirVPN Network lock

    > set a permanent firewall rule (or two, if you have IPv6) blocking all outbound traffic. How? I did this on Windows 10 and Eddie just refuses to connect, maybe step by step would be useful for noobs like me please?

Hello! Yes, definitely. According to our roadmap, "OpenVPN 3.3 AirVPN" based clients will be deployed for Linux (not only x86 but also ARM), OpenBSD and FreeBSD, three systems which are widely used even in various devices (including routers) using CPUs not supporting AES-NI. Kind regards

    What's your e-mail provider?

Just because they once hosted WikiLeaks does not mean they're cool, as Mr. zhang888 once said. Check this post of him. If they don't mention Posteo, StartMail or Mailbox.de, that chart doesn't say it all unfortunately. Those three providers proved to be reliant in the past. Also, notice how the providers are carefully chosen to compare CTemplar with more green, and humble "in progress" things among them which would easily translate to outright NOs right now

    What's your e-mail provider?

Not sure if relevant. Posteo uses browser fingerprinting. Tutanota, Proton, Fastmail, etc do not. Browser fingerprinting is used to track people over multiple domains unnoticed and underneath the radar of adblockers.

    AirVPN Network lock

Hello! 1) Network Lock is not meant to survive a reboot. It's an intended behavior and a very wise decision. 2) Network Lock will remain enforced if Eddie crashes, contrarily to what you claim. It's a set of firewall rules. BUT of course if Eddie crashes at the very start then of course Network Lock will not be set. 3) If you wish that your system is always isolated from the Internet during bootstrap, set a permanent firewall rule (or two, if you have IPv6) blocking all outbound traffic. That's all, because when Network Lock is activated, Eddie will rewrite rules to allow communications to Air VPN servers. Similarly, when Network Lock is disabled by your command, Eddie will restore your previous firewall rules, which will block again all traffic (so you don't need to worry not even during the shutdown). Kind regards
