  1. On the contrary, it has been resolved, anyway it has always been a non-real problem. If you did not upgrade to Eddie 2.11.x beta just allow the IP addresses required by Bonjour in Eddie "Network Lock" window : 239.255.255.250 224.0.0.251 Not needed on Eddie 2.11.x that allows them by default if "Allow LAN" is ticked Kind regards
  2. Yes, always try out the newest version. If it doesn't work as intended, apply the fix. If it still does not work for you, downgrade to 9.9. If you're already using 9.9, consider doing nothing at all. We remind the casual readers that versions 9.9.2 and older are in many cases unusable in Windows 10. Kind regards I agree with the "older", but! One specific version, 9.9.2_3, works as intended. Yes, we consider 9.9.2_3 newer than 9.9.2. Kind regards
  3. Unless the average British citizen uses electronic equipment from 20 years ago, side-channel attacks can succeed in some cases when the attacked equipment is 2-3 meters away from the attacking equipment. Good luck in bringing a van 2 meters away to every and each electronic equipment in UK houses. While it's true that some side-channel attacks techniques are covered by military secret, so we might be ignoring something essential here, it's questionable that such secrets will be made available to "civil" BBC vans. It is reasonable to assume that such an action would expose the secrets to the unavoidable leaks which would bring them into the public domain in a matter of hours. Kind regards
  4. Our plans explicitly exclude any new server until September, except for emergency cases. As usual various countries, including Finland, will be re-considered every 3 months, or even more frequently, according to variations of user-base and connection preferences in available countries. In the latest plans VPN servers in Finland were explicitly excluded because we did not need them. Kind regards
  5. Hello! As you can see here: . 2016.08.06 01:54:30 - OpenVPN > RESOLVE: Cannot resolve host address: localhost: nodename nor servname provided, or not known the problem is in your system. A system MUST be able to resolve name "localhost". You don't find this problem in Tunnelblick because it contacts OpenVPN management at 127.0.0.1, but Eddie approach is more correct. You might experience additional problems if you don't make your system capable to resolve localhost. In El Capitan the hosts file is /private/etc/hosts Quick guide to edit it: https://www.ihash.eu/2015/09/how-to-edit-hosts-file-in-mac-os-x-10-11-el-capitan/ Kind regards

  7. They serve the purpose of AirVPN mission and meet our technical requirements. Kind regards
  8. Is this a parody or some elaborated joke? It sounds hilarious, to say the least. And technically it is totally ineffective, irrelevant. Kind regards
  9. Hello! Bonjour is now allowed with Network Lock. If any of the issues you cited were caused by Bonjour block, now they are fixed if "Allow private/LAN" is enabled (ticked). Upgrade to 2.11.3 beta and test. If the problem is not solved you can explicitly allow the IP addresses required by those protocols in "AirVPN" > "Preferences" > "Network Lock". Kind regards
  10. FEDORA 24 "resolv.conf" DNS issue Hello, we're glad to inform you that the problem has been detected and looks specific to Mono but occurs only under Fedora. A fix has been found and is being implemented in the next build which will be released in the nearest future. We can close this argument and focus on other glitches or bugs, if any. Kind regards
  11. I think because they've deleted that thread. Correct, it's "hidden", since Netflix access has been variable and now no more possible from our infrastructure. Kind regards
  12. DNS settings of your interfaces are correct. Can we see the screenshot showing this leak? Kind regards
  13. At the third or fourth confirmation of the transaction the system is normally able to recover a "timed out" transaction automatically. Note: we remind you that this "time out" is enforced by Coinbase, NOT by us! Kind regards
  14. Thank you for your choice! Please open a ticket and our sales dep. will provide you with full support. Kind regards
  15. You are right, "man" and Eddie CLI can be better. However, man pages are generated automatically by Eddie, so we can improve them, but we can't "import" an external "airvpn.1" file created by you. Please simply be patient, the next beta release will contain your suggested improvements. Kind regards
  16. Hello! 1) Enable "Network Lock" to prevent leaks in case of unexpected VPN disconnection and any other case. 2) You can tell the Air client Eddie to connect always to a selected pool of VPN servers by defining a white list. Eddie will connect only to servers included in the white list when it is defined. You can also tell Eddie to try to re-connect always to the same VPN server by ticking "Lock current". Kind regards
  17. Yes, thanks, reported and acknowledged bug fixed in the build you will see soon. Can you report 2.11.x beta bugs on this thread: https://airvpn.org/topic/18625-eddie-211beta-available/ and report only bugs that have not been already reported? Thanks! Kind regards
  18. Hello, a man page deserves its own thread. The other ones are off-topic partially, and anyway on the original thread you posted into we want to focus on Eddie 2.11.x bug reporting and fixing. We are interested, let's also see community feedback. Kind regards
  19. This is unfortunately useless to us, please follow these guidelines: https://airvpn.org/topic/18625-eddie-211beta-available/page-7?do=findComment&comment=46528 if you want to help us find the bug, if any. And you can't rely on "remove default gateway" because Windows can re-instate it. Kind regards
  20. Make sure that ICMP packets are allowed. Eddie uses "ping" to compile the servers ratings, together with all the other parameters. If ping fails, even if the other parameters are available, Eddie will not show the stars (correctly) and of course can not show the round trip times. Kind regards
  21. The new method applies to Windows only, nothing changed on GNU/Linux. We have edited the message to make it clearer. Thank you for the report. When the DNS check fails (like it did the first 8 times) please take note of the content of /etc/resolv.conf - also, what is the DNS Switch method set on Eddie? Kind regards
  22. Please move here https://airvpn.org/topic/18625-eddie-211beta-available/page-7?do=findComment&comment=46528 and report back at your convenience, thank you in advance. Kind regards
  23. We are aware of the problem which is caused by a non-working IP address (null routed?). We have repeatedly contacted datacenter (ATE) support service (and other e-mail addresses of theirs) and they never replied. We are considering to drop them because of this intolerable lack of care. Kind regards
  24. That depends on OpenVPN, not Eddie. Eddie talks with OpenVPN Management and never kills OpenVPN without grace for obvious reasons. Kind regards
  25. Hello! It will be available in the next beta version. It's about editing AirVPN.xml config file, and adding something like <providers> <OpenVPN title="OtherVpnProvider1" path="X:\ovpn_archive1\"/> <OpenVPN title="My personal" path="X:\ovpn_personal\" login='abc' password='123'/> </providers> For each provider, Eddie looks in the specified path for .ovpn config files (recursively). Eddie will add any .ovpn file found as "Servers", with a name composed by provider title + filename. If the .ovpn file uses the "auth-user-pass" directive, the login/password in the XML are used for authentication. Of course the protocol and port used are from .ovpn file and tunnel/dns checks are not performed. Column like 'Users' or 'Bandwidth' will be blank. Countries are detected by "geo-locating" the IP address (there is an option about external web services for this detection). It's a feature under development, a lot of improvements and better usability are needed, and it's not really tested with a lot of .ovpn configuration files yet. Kind regards
