How can you accuse AirVPN of having the issue on their end? There is a HIGH chance that your ISP can  be blocking the port they use for encrypted traffic, plenty of reasons really and since me and many others max out our fibre connections I'll ask again how can you accuse AirVPN, what evidence do you have to support your claim?

Too much Hollywood "IP trace skills" without details or any facts.
 
When you use the VPN service according to the FAQ guides, or when you use the client with the default settings,
which are always meant to be -secure by default- on purpose - you are not exposed to any leaks. Unless that
"friend" installed some software on your machine that can bypass your VPN tunnel.
So you should at least provide more details about what exactly was the scope of this test.

I'm a Tresorit user (encrypted cloud storage) and it seems that the AirVPN servers Aquilae, Tauri and Velorum can't connect with that server.

When a website is blocked or things aren't working so well somehow, that sucks. But posting a new topic will not automatically help.
 
So before posting a new thread/topic, I recommend that you try these things first, to help yourself and everyone else out:
 

Things To Try First

Try check out the AirVPN Route Checking tool. Put the name of the website, such as www.netflix.com into the search field. Click search. Then refresh the page & look at the HTTP column. Try and change the server that you're using; especially to servers from other countries, rather than just servers from the same country you were first connected to, as sometimes the servers of 1 country are all having issues. Especially if the Route Checking tool shows a red color in the HTTP colum or codes like 403. The HTTP Codes mean different things. Try check out ipleak.net and make sure that the IP & DNS address fields only show 1 address each: those from AirVPN. Otherwise your ISP could be blocking you. For Windows, try going to your Control Panel>>Internet Connections>>Change Adapter Settings>>Right Click each adapter>>Properties>>Untick IPv6>>Click Ok. Similar steps for MacOS/Linux. Try use the AirVPN forum search field in the top right corner, to see if a similar thread exists already. It's better and easier if all the same posts are in the same thread. Try click the "Most Viewed" button, on the horizontal blue line, under the black "Start New Topic" button, in order to see the most viewed threads easily & quickly. Try and check that your ISP or country isn't listed here. Because these ISPs block various things. Try and check if the website is listed here. Sites listed here should be automatically unblocked, regardless of which server you use. (This is called "Micro-routing"). Try and see if the content you want, is available via a torrent site, if you wish. You could then use qBittorent to download it using P2P technology, which AirVPN fully allows. (Not all VPNs do)
Does AirVPN Care About Blocked Sites?

Yes! AirVPN Staff routinely reply to all kinds of different threads on these forums. This includes replies to threads about Netflix. Moderators do too! However due to there being a lot of new threads, they don't always reply to each one. Especially if the thread already exists; such as the many threads about Netflix. This is why it's important to keep all posts about the same website, in the same threads, instead of just making a new thread, which won't get any attention. But the problem is, that AirVPN or even any other VPN provider, can't always do anything about blocks. That's the truth. Because sites like Netflix actively try to block VPNs. It's in AirVPNs Mission Statement to fight all kinds of blocks or attempts at censorship; so it's not because Air isn't trying to fix things.
When You Post A Thread, Consider This

If you absolutely have to post, then please include: a link to the blocked website, the AirVPN server you used, any error messages you got & any replies from support staff from the blocked site. You get bonus points if you also tell us that you already tried the route checking tool and other things listed in the first section. . Double the bonus if you post in an existing thread instead. Posting also doesn't guarantee that the problem will be fixed. But if you follow the suggestions here, then you will make fixing the problem both quicker and easier for Air & everyone else :].

But if you go to my guide, you'll find many links to ways you can make yourself more secure and/or anonymous; such as by using Tor and other browser extensions which are good. Whether it *should* be used is up to you and who your enemies are. If you're the next Snowden, then yes, but then you've got bigger problems. If you're just a casual user, then perhaps not. But if you're trying to be as anonymous as possible, then you should definitely look into Tor at the very least. Security is not just 1 thing you can do, or even 2. It's very much a process. You might not get much traction for that idea, because as the Staff will tell you (and it doubles as great advice for life, if you ever fancy being a hitman), that you must always kill Eddie with grace.
Which is, via it's own menus. It has been a bug that bad things will happen if you don't and I can confirm that. But on a practical level, it's due to Eddie needing time to save and/or restore various settings,
so that things work as intended afterwards and/or the next time Eddie is started. Network Lock is a good example of this, wherein it needs time to restore your firewall settings to their original settings.
However they're seemingly working on a different implementation for how NL handles windows & firewalls, so you might get lucky in this respect. However I think there's also various interactions with the
management portion of OpenVPN.exe that need to be communicated.

Try go to Preferences>Advanced>Uncheck "WPF", click save and then click the Eddie Menu again, where Preferences are and click "Exit". Then restart and see if it works ^^. Because Staffs (kind) suggestion, didn't work for me either, but this did, after I played around with it.

Please edit your network interface (Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections)
and re-enable the "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" checkbox.
Don't worry, Eddie implements IPv6 lock.
And de-check the flag "Disable IPv6 at OS level if requested" under Settings -> Advanced.
It's still a bug that prevents usage with IPv6 disabled, it will be fixed soon.

I think it can be an interesting community project, a free and open source alternative to expensive firewall software.

It is almost offensive to read the above when we are the only service in the world in our field that publishes a real time servers monitor that can be cross-checked to verify we are not lying about our commitment against overselling.
 
The reality is the exact opposite of what you said. We work to squeeze up to the last bit/s on each server line. The issue is challenging even with our AES-NI supporting processors, because we are working with a software (OpenVPN) that can run only in a single core of a CPU (per daemon), and in a semi-complex environment, in which the load on the CPU does not grow linearly (or in some other predictable way, at the moment we did not find any) with the amount of clients per daemon.

After that, consider that our cipher for the payload of both Data and Control Channel is AES-256.

I mostly just lurk, but wanted to mention that this guide should prove to be a pretty useful index for individuals who are new to the topic of VPNs and their usage generally. Thanks for putting it together.

If you can ping a website's IP but not their domain name then it's the DNS issue. You can also just check your adapter's IPv4 settings, it will be stuck on AirVPN's DNS settings when it should be set to auto (or whatever you had there before). With the DNS issue other services are usually able to connect as well (iirc Steam, Spotify, Skype and services like that still work just fine).

Have you tried the latest experimental client? It was tricky to understand you, honestly.

Well I think that's silly, unless.... You take a look at the media landscape. I don't think it's unreasonable, for instance, to have reservations against how the big media companies act. After all, if this entire copyright issue was an isolated one, then maybe it wouldn't matter. But the fact of the matter is, it affects societies around the world quite a lot, when lobbyists from the Entertainment Industry affect new laws in countries across the world. Leading to, in no particular order, things such as:
​Increased surveillance. Both on the internet and off. Meaning it increasingly becomes a human rights issue, as surveillance impacts democracy, which impacts how we live. ​Increased restrictions on devices which we are supposed to own, because we bought them & when we didn't buy them, we use them; such as the software in all manner of trains, vehicles, powergrids and more. DRM, in other words, which if nothing else, makes "closedness" acceptable and even expected, instead of openness. ​Increased levels of resources expended by societies to police these things. Meaning that you're diverting likely limited resources away from dangerous crime, to copyright crime. Such as when a guy in Sweden was apparently arrested for running  a free Swedish subtitling website, where volunteers could add subtitles for various movies. You'd think this would be in the interest of the rights holders, as it's basically free-localization and thus more people can get word of their movies and perhaps move to buy them. But nope. ​Increased or potentially increased, levels of corruption; it's very easy to pay off a Politician or some other high-up figure to back the cause of the Entertainment Industry. ​Decreased ease with which people from all over the world can get access to culture, knowledge & different points of view. After all, soon you might require a login for the web; they'd surely like that. ​ ​Decreased user-friendliness, such as when DRM becomes so restrictive that pirates have an easier time playing a game than someone who actually bought it. ​Increased risk for the users. Make sure to not forward the same ports on your router as you do in the client area, as you will expose yourself to correlation attacks then. It's also recommended that you pick a high port number, instead of the low one you currently picked. You go to your torrent client, pick a port and then put that port number into the "Local Port" field on AirVPNs site. Then you add it. With NL on, do check your firewall isn't blocking your torrent client as well.

Your English is just fine I must say . Thanks for sharing your experience with ExpressVPN. I was curious. The PIA client doesn't allow you to change any options while you're connected to a server, last I saw, lol. If there's anything Air is good at though, it must be options options options. I suspect a lot of VPNs sort of forget about website security and privacy as well.
