Yes, you can run stunnel so that you can do openvpn within SSL tunnel. I would imagine SSH is also available but I've not tried it. There was a post in pfsense forums regarding installing stunnel from the freebsd repo.

in your openvpn client setup just put in the resolved IP of the server you want to use. that way no DNS resolution is needed to connect and you can choose the server you want.

there is a setting to change scoring the scoring rule - either speed or latency. speed rule is default and it will show Canada as the best for USA users. latency rule will show you what you want.

no, the solution to this problem isn't for users to mark solutions. when there is a large problem like what happened Staff do need to make an announcement. many people probably consider that disabling checking DNS and route is decreasing their security. whether that's true or not, some guidance by Staff is much more assuring and authoritative than other users.

There may be some system wide problems. Reading these reports and noting that right now system-wide bandwidth usage is much lower than normal....things seem to be adding up.

Sorry, I just saw that you pasted your iptables. TUN13 is correct? What does this website say when you test if the port is open on your port forwarding page? Remember to have your server listening on that port when you test.

I don't know how to help you there as I have no experience with that method. Sorry.

By DNS NAT rule I assume that's the port forwarding rule that redirects all DNS requests to the pfsense resolver (usually 192.168.1.1)? If that's what you're talking about, don't change that. to change DNS go to system ->general setup. Input the DNS you want, make sure gateway selections are all "none" for the DNS. Assuming your other settings are still good this should work.

Antares does get pretty loaded sometimes. More than the average server for sure. I think it's an expensive place so Air is probably careful about adding servers there. But, I think if they are convinced it's needed they will add one.

Plenty of netflix threads already exist and AirVPN no longer claims to support Netflix. Unfortunately they've done a great job of defeating VPN users.

what is the server that's listening? it sounds like it's listening on your WAN interface instead of TAP except when it's forced to listen to TAP interface by network lock.

It may be better to ask a windows forum about what port RDP uses. It's easy to create a forwarded port with AirVPN that redirects to a different local port (RDP port). However, can you tell your remote machine to connect to a port other than the usual RDP port? It will need to connect to the port AirVPN has opened externally.

The best thing to do is build or buy a pfsense box or some other good firewall software. These are powerful enough to run openvpn at good speeds for the whole house. It doesn't take much understanding to configure them to your needs and there is an excellent setup guide in this forum. Consumer routers will probably not make you happy. The best can run openvpn at about 60mbit/s, max. The best. Not an asus n66 or the like.

not sure I understand what you've done 100%. as I understand it you have altered the listening port on your FTP server to match the forwarded ports you've created. correct? what are your routing tables?
