  1. good question. this application would apply to other uses too. unfortunately it seems the pfsense expert doesn't hang around this forum anymore.
  2. the electoral college isn't like an aristocracy. it's simply meant to balance mob rule with each state getting equal representation. each state has their own constitutional laws regarding how the electors are required to vote based on the popular vote. keep in mind the USA is a union of what should be regarded as 50 nation states. people have lost that notion and that's why we have the backlash of this election. it's also why we had a civil war.
  3. Changing the DNS probably reset the WAN connection and DHCP didn't work properly to restore your WAN connection to the ISP router. Try the DNS changes again according to point 3 but this time reboot your Asus router. Reboot even the ISP router if you need to. There's no reason why it shouldn't work.
  4. but is that actually working to allow netflix outside the VPN. I'd tried it in the past but with their usage of random Amazon servers it still didn't work.
  5. looks like the max-routes or max-routes-per-client (in openvpn 2.4) is a configuration option for the servers. Or maybe I misunderstand. https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/Openvpn24ManPage
  6. Aldib, Dallas, seems to be suffering a problem right now. Auva (same rack I assume, judging by IP address) is performing normally. 9 [174] [NET-154-54-0-0] be2443.ccr22.dfw01.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.44.230) 21.1ms 10 [174] [NET-154-54-0-0] be2618.rcr11.b000821-1.dfw01.atlas.cogentco.com (154.54.30.146) 21.0ms 11 [174] [COGENT-A] 38.142.36.82 27.9ms 12 [18978] [ENZUINC-US-BLK8] border01-core.dc04.dal.ip4.scalabledns.com (192.80.186.38) 20.1ms 13 [18978] [ENZUINC-US-BLK12] [target] 50.114-88-23.rdns.scalabledns.com (23.88.114.50) 570.0/531.6ms High latency and very slow speed. Thanks for looking into this.
  7. you have some sort of proxy running on your machine?
  8. it's probably a change in your ISP routing to the Amanah servers or something causing problems along the same route. but, your ISP speed is no doubt the same as usual. If it truly was a problem with the servers there would be others here complaining.
  9. the seamless tunnel option in openvpn connect settings is the best that can be done.
  10. I suppose port 4433 is the port the backend listens on so the front end GUI can connect. but I don't know. My qbittorrent listens on 4433 as well, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
  11. please post logs from Eddie. You might also want to try the beta client (choose experimental version), and also make sure you're using the network lock.
  12. so if the rule doesn't get set upon boot that means traffic isn't flowing through the tunnel until you restart the openvpn service? I haven't had anything like that.
  13. Just an aside...you may want to look at some other options since Eddie will be using the windows filtering protocol in the future for the network lock, not the firewall. as for adding ASN maybe this post will help https://airvpn.org/topic/19781-bypass-vpn-for-specific-domain-names-netflix-hulu-via-custom-configuration-in-openvpn-tomato-dd-wrtrouter/?hl=%2Bnetflix+%2Broute
  14. when you create a forwarded port in pfsense you must select your AirVPN interface for the interface. (I'm guessing this is where you messed up and it defaulted to the WAN interface.) Then it'll create a corresponding firewall rule that will be in your AirVPN interface sub-section of rules.
  15. there is no possible way for Air to know which server will be fastest for you at any given moment. those nationwide hosts will only route you to the "best" server based on Air's metrics but they still know nothing about your situation - ISP, route, etc. It's up to you to test and determine which servers work best for you.
  16. the only thing you need to change to use a different server is the server host/address in the openvpn client setup. just put in the IP address of the server you want to use and click save. I don't know why you'd be having problems after restoring the backup. Sorry for your trouble.
  17. how to properly forward ports for routers that are the openvpn client is in the how-to section of this forum. since your raspi is the openvpn client you should not forward any ports on your router. is deluge, et. al. running on the raspi too?
  18. This is no reason for me to not use them. I won a 1 year license from malwaretips. i realy not do any shady stuff, just want abit anonymity, thats all.i think it is more than enough for it, or? By the way. can u guys can recommend any other vpn provider? i used perfect-privacy for a long time because i know how safe they are and that they does not log anything. but its not worth the price. i almost dont see any post here about any other provider with good results. thats abit strange, like only defending airvpn? people are free to say what they want in this forum. but, this IS an AirVPN forum. There's a reason why people are here - they've looked at other options and decided AirVPN is the best choice.
  19. at least one of these threads every week. it's amazing. if the router is the openvpn client you must use iptables. do not use the web GUI of the router as those make forwarded ports from WAN to LAN. You need to forward from TUN to LAN. if the router is NOT the openvpn client then you do not forward ports on the router. no, you do not.
  20. please take a look at your instructions for installing stunnel. Since the update to 2.3.x pfsense has changed the GUI for the package manager and they no longer have stunnel in their repo. But, it can be installed from the freebsd repo. I linked to a post about it above.
  21. in Eddie settings you can disable route checking. That should allow you to use the VPN. But, I'd still want to figure out why route checking fails.
  22. both the router and the android box are probably going to be limited by the CPU running openvpn but 3mbps seems too low.
  23. I'm baffled by the lack of "curiosity" of people using an advanced service such as a VPN. All one has to do is look through the settings of Eddie to see that there is a section for custom configs. How is it that everybody doesn't see this within the first 2 minutes of using the app?
  24. The experimental version only does things differently for Windows, right? The OP is using linux.
  25. Okay, I get the feeling that I have to post my AS number list with information on datacenters... no need to get snippy. I just didn't know. I don't use the NL servers.
