  1. Following NaDre's instructions on "Guide to Setting Up VPN Just for Torrenting on Windows"....... https://airvpn.org/topic/9491-guide-to-setting-up-vpn-just-for-torrenting-on-windows/ I wanted some input on whether "everything" looks ok and is setup right. I'm posting screenshots below of how it's setup. Input from any advanced user, staff and anyone that knows what they're doing would be awesome. Thank You and have an day/night. *Some pics were unable to be uploaded*
  2. When using a VPN, am I correct in thinking that any peering arrangements that my ISP uses will no longer apply as it will depend on the exit server that I am connected to?
  3. Airvpn's client doesn't officially drop connections but, when I try to load pages/visit websites they won't load. This happens after I do a speedtest or watch 1080p+ YouTube video. I am using the client Eddie. My connection speed is 126mbps dl & 12mbps ul. I brought 1 year Airvpn access so I would really like this to work properly. Thanks.
  4. Hi there! Imagine a scenario in which one is in a country in which it is illegal to use a VPN. In this scenario, the ideal solution for would be to use a VPN or method in conjunction with the VPN that conceals the fact that one is being used. Is this a service that AirVPN offers? How does one implement this, if possible? Is it automatically a part of the setup/deal? If it's not possible using AirVPN alone, how does one go about making this possible? Many thanks!
  5. Hi, I am using AirVPN on a windows computer and have been having this problem for the past two days. It keeps re-connecting every few minutes - please see the attached log - AirVPN_log.txt. I am not sure what's causing this OpenVPN > [server] Inactivity timeout (--ping-restart), restarting It's been very frustrating two days and would appreciate anyone's help in resolving this. Thanks
  6. Hi everyone, I'm wondering, if I tweak my SNR settings on my Asus DSL-AC68U, is this likely to cause any of the AirVPN servers to possibly slow down? I have tweaked my SNR settings and am getting around a 25 percent speed increase when I'm not using AirVPN, but it's possibly effecting both the speed and throughput when using AirVPN, although I'm still running further tests to accurately determine this. Any input from any of you out there would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi there, I am fairly new to Linux and also to AirVPN. I am using the AirVPN client on 64 bit Linux Mate, running Transmission on my machine trying to set up remote access so I can view the web interface remotely. I have a DNS running on my Raspberry Pi so I am attempting to use my domain (for example 2Girls1CPU.mooo.com:9091) to access the web UI. I have tested the DNS, through port 22 to SSH into my raspberry pi to confirm that it is working. Here is what I have tried: Initially I set up remote access in Transmission. I had the port as 9091, with authentication and no whitelist of IP addresses. Then I went into AirVPN client area and set up a port forwarding rule. Obviously 9091 was taken, so I just created a random port, forwarded through TCP (I've tried UDP, as well as both TCP and UDP). Then I took that random port, say 27364 and entered it into the remote access settings in Transmission. I also went into my port forwarding rules in my router and added a rule to forward 27364 to my Laptop running AirVPN and Transmission (say 192.168.1.43). External and internal port both the same obviously. Now with this setup, I would assume when I try to access port 27364 (with 2Girls1CPU.mooo.com:27364) - my VPN would forward that to my router port 27364, which would then forward to 192.168.1.43:27364. I may be completely wrong as I do not have a solid understanding of networking and port forwarding, but this setup did not work. One thing that confused me was under the port forwarding rules on AirVPN client area, it says "Forwarded to 10.x.x.x". Why is this being forwarded to an IP with a 10. ip range? Should it not be forwarded to my internal IP? Or how exactly does that work? I'm probably missing something here, but I just can't work it out. I'm not sure how the port forwarding within AirVPN works. If anyone could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated. One more thing I am wondering - how safe is it to have a port forwarded like I am attempting while using AirVPN? Is there any potential for leaks? Thanks! -2Girls1CPU
  8. I recently bought an Asus router RT-AC68U to flash Tomato firmware as AirVPN offers a config generation for this. I had a few issues with that and noticed that Asus supports OpenVPN from scratch. I've tried it and it works flawless, no tomato is needed. Difficulty: Very low Time: 2 Minutes Prerequisite: - Asus Router (in my case it's a RT-AC68U but it should work for all asus routers that have OpenVPN support) Steps: 1. Browse to https://airvpn.org/generator/ and select 'Router or others' and choose a server you like. Tick on 'Direct, protocol UDP, port 443' and click on 'Generate'. Save this openvpn config file anywhere on your computer. 2. Open the asus router webinterface and click on 'VPN'. Click on 'Add profile', choose OpenVPN. Enter a description, leave username and password EMPTY. Click on 'Browse' and select the downloaded openvpn config file. Click on upload. Click on OK. That's it now you can click on connect. 3. Visit https://ipleak.net and check if it works. By default I have no dns leak. But in case you have you can setup the AirVPN DNS this way: 3b. Click on WAN tab. Turn DNS server off and enter either google's DNS 8.8.8.8 or AirVPN's DNS 10.4.0.1 or both as in the screenshot. That's it. Every client which is connected to the router now is secured by VPN.
  9. Would it be possible to add a server in India to your range?

    My AirVPN Review

I've had Airvpn around 5-6 weeks now and I can honestly say I've never had a better service. The transparency and communication from them are top notch if there's security bugs/flaws rather than hide or conceal it they inform and remedy it. My previous VPN didn't even mention the WebRTC leaks yet on Airvpn the information is very apparent and solutions are abundant. The speed for me has always been excellent always maxing my connection to most (US servers excluded as that is way over the pond but still good) they have a guaranteed 4mb either way but to be honest their guarantee is never needed as I never see slow downs. I Really like the Eddie client and never had problems using it. The cost is also superb 5 euro a month if you pay in 3 or 6 month instalments. The only time I've had problems connecting to Airvpn was my recent trip to Lanzarote. I was able to connect sometimes but mostly I wasn't able to but this in no way was an Airvpn problem it was a hotel wifi sucks problem. So in conclusion my opinion on Airvpn is that it's very cheap (£11 for 3 months), extremely reliable, great communication, great client, and very honest company.
  11. Hello, I installed successfully an AirVPN connexion on my synology station using those instructions The goal is to redirect all the torrent traffic (Download Station application) through the VPN tunnel. The thing is that I have other services on this synology server, like cloud station etc.. To use those services I use a dynamic DNS name (currently at no-ip.org). Problem is that when I am connected through the VPN tunnel, those services don't work anymore. What is the best approach to this problem ? In my mind, the best would be to be able to split the traffic on my synology server i.e. to redirect only the traffic of the Download Station application through the VPN but not the rest. I have not been able to find a clear "How to do this" and I don't even know if it is possible. Other possibilities would be to open some ports on the vpn servers I am using if I have understood correctly. Thanks in advance if you have more detailed instructions or ideas on how to achieve this goal.
  12. Hi. I use AirVPN in my macbook to watch netflix in different countries since I only have an American Netflix account. This however doesn't work with Amazon FIreTv Stick's Netflix. How do I use AirVPN to configure my router to connect directly to AirVPN servers so that both the macbook and the firetv stick connect through the VPN? Thanks.
  13. So far I am using VPN to download/upload torrents to private tracker. As soon as the AirVPN loses connenction for whatever reason, I have enabled the mechanism that shuts down the network to my macbook. Furthermore, I have confirured Vuze to start only when tun0 interface is available. I see also, that there are some people using proxy servers and TOR network, would this be benefitial from anonimity side of things in my case or not? I would like some links or discussion based on the topic's title Thanks

  17. Hi all, Since upgrading to Windows 10 there is a build-in feature to use a VPN. Had any of you had any luck configuring it? I would like to use the VPN when it's needed and just browse on my normal connection when it's turned off. The browsing speeds were horrible on windows 7 and I had to turn it off everytime and changing the dns to be able to enjoy my 100mbit browsing experience and not a 33k6. Any help/input is appreciated!
  18. Hi all new here and newish to VPN's (used Hide my Ass many moons ago, mistake I know lol) Anyways just looking for some help/advice on the best way to use Airvpn. I'm currently running the AirVPN client with network lock enabled (on 1 laptop 1 pc using SSH on port 22) and was considering using OpenVPN client instead. I have a few questions i would like answered before hand however such as. how easy it is to set up? pro and cons? will I need to download comodo and implement the firewall blocks that are mentioned in the how to? also regarding the use of SSH is there any advantages to it over using UDP or TCP security wise? As my ISP does no traffic management or shaping to these. what do you think is the best or most secure way thanks in advance for any help or insight you may have
  19. ok, using Ubuntu 14.04, Thunderbird, VPN through Network manager. Unable to connect to my outgoing mail server. smtp.secureserver.net / 68.178.213.37 port 465 SSL/TLS . I am unable to connect to it while on VPN (Blocked I assume), turn off VPN and I have no problem. This also seems to be the only port they offer. Is there a way to add to the settings that anything going to this address to bypass VPN via the iptables and if so how. Tried a few settings and still doesnt work. Or do I need to add a additional Netcard?

  22. Hi guys. Any chance we could please get the BBC Sports coverage of Wimbledon working on all of the VPN's, not just the UK ones? Cheers.
  23. Hello all, this is a question I am struggling to phrase in a google search, therefore I cannot find an answer. Recently thinking about the Tor network it occured to me that in the case of a VPN, the Exit server is presumably the server that decrypts the traffic? Am I wrong on that? If not, then wouldn't that mean that VPN traffic could pass overseas unencrypted. For example: If i was to want to access facebook.com (US based) from here in the UK, the connection (encryped) would go Me>ISP>VPNSERVER>FACEBOOK So my question, perhaps a silly one, is: Is the internet traffic between the Exit server encrypted? If not, are we all at risk by not using a VPN exit server that is based in the same country as the server we are trying to access? Because otherwise I draw the conclusion that we are sending unencrypted internet traffic over the international fibre cables that are all heavily monitored. Thanks in advance
  24. Hi, I started experimenting with AirVpn om my Android smartphone. The setup is the first I start Orbot, second AirVpn (UDP-443) and last but not least Orweb. Everything seems to be working and IP Chicken shows me a nice Ip adress. I want to apologize for my ignorance, but is this a good anonymous setup and how can I check that the VPN is going through Orbot? Kind regards,
