seranoxa wrote: Hello! Vega and Sigma are both located on the West Coast. You might also try Lyra (Netherlands), which is in a datacenter with a good peering with several USA based providers. Kind regards AirVPN admins

@allanmills Hello! Can you please send us the OpenVPN connection logs when you try the connection on the open WiFi network and on your mobile broadband card? Have you tried to connect to port 53 too? Kind regards AirVPN admins

gward wrote: Hello! There are some methods to do that. We would recommend to set appropriate firewall rules for uTorrent (or any other program), probably it is the "cleanest" solution. An alternative is using small programs like VPNLifeGuard, VPNCheck or VPNetMon. They will forcefully kill the programs you tell them if the VPN connection is not active, or even if it accidentally drops. Kind regards AirVPN admins

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED - LYRA UP AND RUNNING Hello! Server Lyra (Netherlands) is facing serious connectivity problems and we have been forced to put it down. In the last few hours cable and switch port have been replaced. Unfortunately these actions only mitigated the problem without solving it. It seems there's a connectivity issue in (some part of) the datacenter network, a technician is investigating. We will keep you posted. Kind regards AirVPN admins

If a jurisdictional competent authority should warn us about activities performed through our VPN servers that are related to an alleged violation of human rights we will provide an appropriate response and take the proper actions according to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, available at the bottom of each page of this website. perhentian wrote: Hello! Not really... in all the screenshots you sent, the destination IP address is never the VPN server exit-IP address. Kind regards AirVPN

perhentian wrote: Hello! Glad to know that the issue is resolved. Important: from the attached screenshots, you can see that uTorrent does NOT try to connect to the external IP address of any VPN server (exit-IP). Kind regards AirVPN

Setting up vpn server on my vps windows server

andla wrote: Hello! First of all, have our configuration generator prepare all the files you need for your OpenVPN client (configuration file, server certificate, CA certificate and the private key). The generator is available on menu "Member"-->"Access without our client". It will prepare an archive (air.zip) according to your preferences. Please note that you need a premium subscription to access the configuration generator and our servers. Once you have downloaded the air.zip archive, decompress, copy all the files inside it, and paste them (upload via ftp for example) in your VPS OpenVPN client configuration directory. Finally, launch OpenVPN (via the GUI or from a shell). If it does not work, check with your VPS provider if you need any particular intervention from them to run a VPN client. Specify that you'll run it as a client, not as a server, and that it is OpenVPN. Running an OpenVPN client inside a virtualized environment should raise no particular issues (while a server does), but it's better to check with your provider in case you find some problems. Do not hesitate to contact us for any further information. Additional information from you (Windows version, virtualization software used for the VPS) might help. Kind regards AirVPN admins [EDIT: if you wish to run an OpenVPN server on a VPS, please refer to OpenVPN documentation and forums] -
Hello! We're very glad to announce that, from now on, the entry-IP address of each AirVPN server is different from the exit-IP address. The modification enhances protection against correlation attacks from adversaries capable to monitor vast portions of different networks and fixes the OpenVPN-related issue reported here: https://airvpn.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=55&func=view&catid=3&id=918 Kind regards AirVPN admins

SpookySR wrote: Hello! It's not your fault, Vega went down again presumably just a few hours after it was up again. We are starting to look into it, and we might need further clarifications from the datacenter. We will keep you updated. We apologize for the inconvenience which is unfortunately not depending on us. @balthazett Hello and thank you for your nice words! We assure you that we'll continue to do our best to improve the service. Altair has been relocated to what we like to call a "shadow" server, that is a server that should be kept hidden and ready in a few minutes/hours for any emergency. You're right, Google detects Vega IP address as allocated to Hong Kong. We suspect this happens because the address block has been spread by IANA in several and very distant areas in the world. Unfortunately we can't do anything about this, apart from warning Google about the mistake. It's very important, however, that US based geo-discriminatory services properly detect the IP address as from the USA, so that it's possible for our premium members to access those services (e.g. Hulu, Netflix, Pandora) even when they travel or live outside the USA. Last news on Vega are not good at the moment, the server does not boot - we hope it's not a serious hardware failure. We will keep you posted as soon as we receive more details. Kind regards AirVPN admins
-
Hello! Since the downtime has now exceeded 48 hours, the "shadow" server Altair has been brought back online to provide further bandwidth until Vega is repaired. Kind regards AirVPN admins

UPDATE: VEGA SERVER IS UP AND RUNNING Hello! At around 1 PM CET the american server Vega suddenly went offline and became completely unresponsive. We're investigating into the issue. We also have now confirmation that a datecenter technician is taking care of it to determine what happened and try to put the server online again. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, if you need a USA server, we kindly ask you to connect to Sigma. We're ready to add an additional server if the downtime were to affect the guaranteed bandwidth we are committed to provide. Kind regards AirVPN admins

[SOLVED] Android doesn't use VPN connection
Staff replied to static418's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello! From the logs it seems that OpenVPN is unable to invoke route and ifconfig: Thu Nov 3 20:01:46 2011 Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in [PUSH-OPTIONS]:4: route (2.1.1) Thu Nov 3 20:01:46 2011 Options error: Unrecognized option or missing parameter(s) in [PUSH-OPTIONS]:8: ifconfig (2.1.1) The default_gateway route remains to a gateway (66.*.*.*) which is none of our servers and finally OpenVPN shuts the TUN and exits. Apparently it is the following problem (a fix is suggested): http://code.google.com/p/android-openvpn-settings/issues/detail?id=26 Let us know if the fix works for your phone. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kind regards AirVPN admins
