    Split Tunnel.

Split tunneling function in eddie because not everyone can "tinker", because some people see the VPN as a tool and not as a hobby, and because days don't have more of 24 hours... So: yes, no, perhaps, go away?

    Port forwarding availability change

No, if all peers were not reachable BitTorrent would not work at all. The reason is trivial, just study how the protocol works. Actually there are many "dead torrents" not because there are no peers with the complete file, but because those peers in the swarm are active but not reachable. You have the impression that torrenting works even if some peers in a swarm are unreachable only because there are peers which are reachable in that swarm, so unreachable nodes (leechers) can keep leeching. This is the essence of the claims "you can keep torrenting even without remote port forwarding": yes, provided that parasites in a swarm can leech thanks to the effort of others. Maybe you should study how the protocol works before insulting. We're momentarily locking this thread, too many off topics are making it confusing. Kind regards

It seems that NAT-PMP is used by Proton. Their support docs indicate it isn’t anywhere as easy to setup as the current AirVPN solution. https://protonvpn.com/support/port-forwarding-manual-setup/ I can’t imagine how to use this for any kind of a long-lived home server. seems to be mostly useful for BitTorrent or gaming. An interesting thing is that they have a separate pool of servers with port forwarding. Not sure how much that helps for reducing bans/blacklisting.

    Port forwarding availability change

Can you guarantee that you won't misuse the port forwarding feature, and pay the entire server bill for one month if you abuse? What kind of more guarantees do you want, @Staff just confirmed there are no plans to remove this feature, to the contrary, there are plans to look for solutions to make these resources available forever. All other VPN providers you mention that cowardly remove this feature do not have a net neutrality prospect and mission prospect like airvpn does. If you read those, you will see p2p (not possible without port forwarding) is one of the most important aspects in a decentralized censorship-resistant internet, which is in tango with airvpn's mission. The mission and net neutrality prospects of airvpn have not changed since its inception so I doubt it will happen, unless something really ugly happens. Happy p2p-ing in the mean time.

Maybe, you should connect to AirVPN through wireguard server on your home computer or a VPS. Make sure you don't nest wireguard in wireguard. You could route packets between two wireguard interfaces. Routing between two wireguard interfaces doesn't nest wireguard inside wireguard. Proton VPN has a feature named alternative routing which offers different entry points for people behind a restrictive firewall that prohibits connecting to VPN entry points. https://proton.me/blog/anti-censorship-alternative-routing

Google search not working with AirVPN

@amires Hello! It looks like Google Search blocks our VPN servers in Dallas (403: Forbidden). Not a big deal anyway, as Google Search should never be used by anyone. By the way, if you want to use it, you can consider to access it through startpage.com (which will proxy your query and the reply, adding a precious privacy layer), or connect to Google Search from other USA servers (not in Dallas). One of the favorite, privacy aware search engines here around is https://search.brave.com/ - it's also quite accurate. We are curious to know from everybody their favorite web search engines. Kind regards
