Won't import AirVpn. Sorry.

Could you give me more details? Does Qomui crash or is there any error message? It'd be helpful if you could set logging to debug and share the log with me so I can try to understand where it goes wrong.

Can you check if the package python3-cryptography is installed on your system?

I can see a file - qomui.service  in the .deb file    but not - qomui.service.dpkg-new'

Strange, which distribution are you using? Can you please retry. I've tested the deb on Ubuntu 18.04 and 18.10 and Linux Mint as well.

Not installed. Should install it ?

Not so sure this question is for me, but anyhow : I run SolydX (based on Debian Stretch). And I used to run qomui, unistalled it, and tried to re-install (on a brand new system)

Yes, you're right. The dependency was actually missing from the deb-package. It's fixed now. Thank you!

@pjnsmb: what distribution are you using? Could you try using the DEB directly, i.e. install via gdebi?

Great job !

1) your procedure to import the key doesn't work

2) I override that, and install «new» .deb ,and I get new dependencies !!!!! (cgroup-tools, cgroupfs-mount, and libcgroup1) For THE SAME VERSION !!!!! How iS  that possible ! The progamme 5 minutes earlier worked without those dependencies !

3) qomui won't connect to any airvpn server !

1) your procedure to import the key doesn't work

I'll look into it, I don't quite understand yet why Qomui would import the servers but not the keys - the download should fail altogether in that case. But that's why Qomui can't connect to any OpenVPN server. Do the respective directories and files such as '/usr/share/qomui/certs/ca.crt' actually exist on your machine?

2) I override that, and install «new» .deb ,and I get new dependencies !!!!! (cgroup-tools, cgroupfs-mount, and libcgroup1) For THE SAME VERSION !!!!! How iS  that possible ! The progamme 5 minutes earlier worked without those dependencies !

Those dependencies are optional - they are only needed if you want to you use "bypass". But depending on whether you are installing from the deb directly or adding the repository via apt recommended dependencies are automatically installed or not.

I think I'll stay with eddie for a while, maybe ...

I'm sorry that Qomui doesn't work for you (yet).

Sorry for the late answer: You could try the following:

sudo apt purge qomui
sudo apt clean
sudo apt update
sudo apt install qomui

Alternative, download the release from github directly, install all dependencies manually and run:

python3 setup.py install qomui-0.8.0.tar.gz

Hi corrado,

Qomui 0.8 will not download airvpn's data, system notification says that perhaps I'm using the wrong credentials and the log shows ' INFO - OpenVPN:Options error: --tls-crypt fails with '/usr/share/qomui/certs/tls-crypt.key': No such file or directory (errno=2) ' which confirms that the keys aren't downloading.

I've retried this multiple times and am sure my credentials are correct. Also pia downloaded and works as expected.

This is on Mint 19.1 cinnamon after purging, cleaning, updating and reinstalling Qomui 0.8

Seasons Greetings!

Sorry same result as before

I'll install Debian Siduction and try to find out what's going wrong.

@kah0922&M3AtAirvpn&greerd: There is an issue with Airvpn auto-download at the moment, the new implementation had some hardcoded parameters that are simply not flexible enough (unfortunately I only have one account to test with). Thanks for letting me know & expect an update very soon!

Qomui 0.8.1 is out and it should fix the Airvpn auto-download feature. Here's the full changelog:

- [change] option to restart qomui-service from gui if it crashes
- [change] added exceptions for all DBus calls
- [change] improved support for non-systemd distributions
- [change] detecting and closing simultaneously running instances
- [bugfix] Airvpn auto-download fixed

Please open a ticket and ask for some additional test account and other info, our support team will be glad to help.

Thanks, a lot! I'll do that, this would really help :-)

@pjnsmb: I did a fresh install of Debian Siduction in a VM and could install Qomui without any issues. Only thing to be aware of: You have to choose a release that matches your Python version. The latest Ubuntu package worked fine for me. But this wouldn't explain the dpkg error you are getting. Maybe something's wrong with your dpkg configuration.

@win8: Since version 0.7.4 I have switched to OpenSuse Build Service to publish packages. Depending on the distribution, this may conflict with the previously released deb-packages. In essence, a clean upgrade may not be possible. To resolve this, please remove Qomui entirely first:

sudo apt purge qomui

Afterwards, you should be able to perform a clean installation of Qomui by using the deb-package or adding the repository. Linux Mint 18.3 is based on Ubuntu 16.04 to my knowledge, so make sure you choose the correct package.
