ANSWERED AirVPN slowing down other machines in network?

Recommended Posts

ok...this is a weird one.

VPN is only on one machine, i turn on the vpn and do nothing else, other computers attached to the same network is slowed down.  I turned off the vpn, everything is back to normal.

i tested this by doing rebooting every machine and turning on the vpn on and viewing the same youtube video on a different machine.

Hello!

If you're using the Eddie client, could you try going to Preferences>Protocols>Picking SSL or SSH and see what happens?

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.
Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily.

ok....that works.

so what was wrong before?

Most plausible explanation according to all the gathered information is that your ISP shapes the whole line as soon as it detects an OpenVPN connection. If this were confirmed, your ISP would be really an ISP to carefully avoid.

Kind regards
