Eddie 2.11.10 doesn't run

Recommended Posts

On Debian GNU/Linux, newest Eddie 2.11.10, run from cli, breaks with the following error message:

airvpn # ./airvpn -cli -connect -login=**RESERVED** -password=**RESERVED**
Assembly 'Lib.Core.dll' doesn't have an entry point.

Hello!

Did you try the standard version? It works on Linux Mint 18. It could sound like there's a problem with the other versions of 2.11.10.

Hello!

We can confirm that the portable version will not run, please use the portable version (requiring Mono) or the .deb package if you have a Debian derivative system (Ubuntu, Mint etc.), or the .rpm package for openSUSE and Fedora.

EDIT: Problem fixed, Eddie 2.11.10 (new) portable version runs fine.

Kind regards

I have tried using the latest experimental version 2.11.10 (deb file passed to rpm with alien) and it does not work for me. It is continuously disconnected from the vpn server. I'm back to 2.11.9

Wait so, 10 runs, but you're just not able to connect to a server? In that case, it sounds like you should append some logs and tell us your OS.

It looks irrelevant to this thread. If so, please don't hijack. If not, feel free to go on. A question: why converting .deb to .rpm when we already provide an rpm package by default, any specific reason (something wrong in the rpm?)?

Why? Is so easy... Your rpm package doesn't works on my distro, and this is the reason why I convert your deb packages, and I have no problem with this... I do this since two or three versions ago, I don't know if now is necessary to do it, but it's become a routine for me

Thanks for the information, what is your exact distribution name and version?

Opensuse Tumbleweed... It's a rolling release version

Well, I try again with rpm directly and the result is the same: It doesn't works.

This is a picture about the log I see when run Eddie (from root):

And this is I see with no score and big latency servers:

If I run it like root, I see this:

But from normal user, using kdesud (sudo doesn't work) I can't see Activate Networkk Lock.

Well, this  also happens in previous versions...

New Eddie 2.11.10 doesn't return anymore the error I addressed in the OP (Assembly 'Libcore.dll' doesn't have an entry point"), but its connection to any server is abruptly terminated without any reason.

Strange it returns an access denied while trying to write its pid to /tmp, given that its permissions are 777. Here's the details of the permissions:
/ # getfacl tmp/

# file: tmp/
# owner: root
# group: root
# flags: --t
user::rwx
group::rwx
other::rwx

Probably it couldn't delete a former .pid file still present there. Anyway, I deleted it by hand (after removing its "a" and "e" special attributes), but the connection is always terminated. Openvpn log moans about missing parameters. Here's the log:

Options error: Unrecognized option or missing or extra parameter(s) in /etc/airvpn/a65f04bde390a96e487212cf19869e51d13977982474e234995c4b83ad7e4bdf.tmp.ovpn:13: script-security (2.4.0)

 ....and so on, it never stops returning this error.

@sarum4an

It looks correct, "script-security" directive has a missing parameter. Who inserted that wrong directive? Check your custom directives.

Kind regards

I'll check, but it's the same directive I pass to Eddie 2.11.9, and it works great with that former version. Did it change something under the hood regarding the management of directives by Eddie?
