devidd55 0 Posted ... Hello, I am using Eddie to connect to AirVPN but it is always failing. I am by no means an advanced techie to understand how to fix the problem, so if you could help me it would be much appreciated. I am guessing the problem is at "RTNETLINK answers..."If this help (sorry if it is completely unrelated) i have a Ralink Adapter RT3290 which is a nightmare in linux , with many users having auto-wake problems after shutdown, since there are no supported drivers specifically for it anymore, and by default rt2800pci is used (which works quite well, except for the auto-wake problem and the fact that i cant login to my university's eduroam wifi). So here are my 2 cents. Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10016 Posted ... Hello, https://airvpn.org/topic/20939-eddie-openvpn-24-rc2-issue-no-connection-could-be-made-because-the-target-machine-actively-refused-it/ Kind regards 2 devidd55 and Kloppix reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
devidd55 0 Posted ... Thank you! It seems the problem was with Eddie. I would like to add here for the other users, that i am using Arch Linux. I had installed the airvpn-git from AUR and that is why it was not working. I am using airvpn-beta-bin now. It fixed the problem above, but a new problem emerged: it started showing "DNS checking failed". A quick search sent me to this article https://airvpn.org/topic/13641-airvpn-linux-client-unable-to-connect-dns-checking-failed/ and after unchecking "Advanced -> Check if tunnel use AirVPN DNS" i could connect. I also switched to DNS Switch Mode to "Renaming", because i was getting DNS leaks when checking with https://ipleak.net/ too. I want to ask the Staff, how come that i was getting DNS leaks, even though i am on Linux??? Last concern i have, partly because of the DNS leaks mentioned above, is if i should make other tweaks to ensure full functionality, or if i should just dump Eddie and connect via Network Manager. I dont know if the steps i took are enough to fix these "loopholes" in Eddie. Thank you for the quick response and wish you well for the new year Quote Share this post Link to post
devidd55 0 Posted ... Ok, it seems i was wrong. No matter which DNS Switch Mode i used, my IPv6 will leak on this site http://whatismyipaddress.com/ Another funny fact is, when i choose "Automatic" as DNS Switch Mode, my IPv6 won't leak only as according to ipv6leak.com/When i choose "Renaming" my IPv6 won't leak only as according to https://www.iplocation.net/find-ip-address This is making me even more confused.. LZ1 673 Posted ... Hello! Just turn off IPv6. Support for it is planned for 2017 . Staff has said there's no DNS leaks on Linux. If you use Network Lock, then that's definitely ensured. Do check ipleak.net as well. Welcome to AirVPN and happy new year ! 1 devidd55 reacted to this Quote Hide LZ1's signature Hide all signatures Hi there, are you new to AirVPN?
