Each time when Eddie is started I receive the message "Recovery. Unexpected crash?" even though I had properly disconnected, logged out and exited previously. Why is this message shown?

Hello!

Which release client are you using? If the problem persists in the latest stable, that would be interesting.

Version 2.15.2

I investigated a little and deleted "Recovery.xml", which had some lines in it about deleting a route. The program created this file again at startup with different content and the error message disappeared.

Hello, it happened to me too but with the experimental version 2.16.1 it does not happen anymore. I have checked that only happens in versions 2.14.5 and 2.15.2 Windows 10. For me version 2.16.1 is more stable.

I looked at the folder again and after the application re-created a Revovery.xml file after I had deleted the one causing the problem this file isn't present anymore. Looks like there's some kind of self-healing routine build in.

Nope, it is still happening with 2.16.1. Deleting Revovery.xml doesn't do anything. Looks like it's a bug.

I am having the same issue with 2.15.2 and 2.16.3.

Earlier this week upon startup I kept getting the unexpected crash error message:

I am also having this problem, glad to know I'm not the only one.

Also running Mint 18.3 (19 still a disaster for my system - ugh).

I changed settings to always accept ipv6, and it began connecting again to server population. I haven't been able to reproduce the crashing behavior based on how I change settings, but it is the same as all of you have described.

Noticed that during this crash, Microsoft's mono goes crazy and cpu use spikes to >100%. Also, I have "Only One Instance" checked in Eddie settings yet if I accidentally execute it twice, it will run two angry instances and also eat up system resources, so that might be another bug there.

I have been using 15.2 -- I thought upgrading to 16.3b would fix it, and it did, I thought, but it is doing it again. I've fiddled with firewalls, network manager, I'm lost. Can post iptables debug logs and other info if needed.

I see that everyone on this thread went through this problem months ago but I cannot find a solution. I just started having this problem this week and I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what the solve is yet?

I'm running Eddie 2.16.3 on windows 10 and have been getting the same error message recently. However this doesn't seem to affect performance but I thought it was just my setup before I came across this thread. Is this something we need to be concerned about or is it just a minor irritant that can be resolved in future versions of Eddie?

Hello!

It's a known bug which has been fixed in 2.17.2 experimental version. The bug does not affect significantly Eddie operations but on the long run can remarkably slow down initial connections. If you decide to test Eddie 2.17.2, please see here for download instructions and detected issues:

Kind regards
