On Android mobile: having configured a proxy for WIFI connection. then enabling Eddie for Android v.3.2.1 VPN with default settings. When running ipleak.net, I'd expect to see airVPN adresses, Instead I get addresses used by the proxy. Even setting VPN lock didn't change this. Is this a bug or how Eddie is supposed to work?

I'm using air through a proxy on my phone I use a proxy software called "Clash"on my Android phone I noticed that Air uses HTTP as the proxy protocol Clash listens at 127.0.0.1. The listening port for HTTP is 7890 So, I put 127.0.0.1 in the Air server host line, server port 7890 I picked Clash in air split tunnel. The goal is for clash traffic data not to be routed through the VPN Connection successful , Air main screen shows TCPv4 via HTTP. I conducted a leak test and the test results showed no leaks. But I'm having a problem with Air disconnecting every once in a while (many times a few minutes), If I'm constantly using traffic, such as watching a video, then the VPN connection time maybe stays longer I check the Air logs,The most frequent occurrence is: Keep Alive timeout:session termination.restart in 2000ms........ Another scenario is that the VPN disconnects and then turns on the locking. Clash is connected What should I do to fix this?

Is it possible to set up Foxy Proxy or something similar using AirVPN? If so, how exactly? Notably, I'm wondering about GNU+Linux (Ubuntu) and Brave and Firefox. Particularly, I want certain browser profiles to use a proxy while the OS connects via OpenVPN CLI / Eddie.

I know this has been asked before and was resolved by other means like configuring the VPN to work with specific applications. But I would like to see socks5 proxies supported because, android only allows one vpn at a time and most ad blockers work by creating a vpn. Thus meaning you cannot use air vpn alongside an android ad blocker like AdGuard or DNS66 etc but, you can use a proxy. ADS REMOVED - STAFF Thanks

Hi, i'm trying to set the proxy with http or socks, but both fail to login when using the proxy, the error message is "Cannot login, (Curl: (7)) Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 8080: Connection refused - with 'http' (always) proxy and 'none' auth" Plus: 1. i also try different ports, but it fails too. 2. the platform is window 10. 3. i can use the vpn service successfully without proxy

Hello people, Question for you - In my reading I believe I have found that using a SOCKS v5 proxy encrypts TCP/UDP traffic to the proxy server. So that would mean that everything from the browser to the server, is encrypted and not able to be viewed. Now, this is clearly not as good as a VPN as the entire computer is not protected, but for browsing the Internet privately, this seems like an effective tool. My use case: I am using a work computer that I cannot connect to a VPN. I have multiple browsers on the computer however. I would love to be able to set one of them up to use the proxy, while having the other one for work. I have read on the forums that someone was recommending Tor for this purpose. However, I am unable to install that on my computer. Is this something that AirVPN can help me accomplish. If not, is there some other way?

Hi and good morning to all, I am here because, like so many others i am at the end of my tether and need help and assistance from those of you in the know. I need to open ports for my Gameserver bypassing the VPN. I will keep my first description as short as possible of my current setup and anybody whom wishes to help may ask for further details, I have 2X instances of Pfsense running on a windows 2012 R2 server machine in Hyper-V, one is configured using this tut https://airvpn.org/topic/17444-how-to-set-up-pfsense-23-for-airvpn/ and the other handles the DHCP and Squid, my reasoning for this is, Squid does not play nice with Vpn's, i have tried everything to get them to work together but pfsense wants to use the default WAN when squid is installed so this was my workaround, i have tried others like pfBlockerNG but it does not have the level of control that Squid offers. Now to the complicated bit, for the purpose of this i will refer to Pfsense 1 VPN as "Firewall" and Pfsense 2 DHCP & Squid as "Proxy", The proxy has 2X LAN subnets 192.168.1.1 which is the local LAN network and is hooked to Squid, and 192.168.3.1 which is an isolated Lan i wish to use for a gameserver which has an Ip of 3.5 Then i have 2X wans 192.168.2.2 static which is bridged to 2.1 on the firewall, and 192.168.4.2 Vlan-Id=10 which connects to 4.1 Vlan-Id=10 on the Firewall, my 192.168.3.5 is routed out this interface in order for it to be passed to the firewall and onto the WAN The Firewall is set up as described in the tut above and works as intended with the exception that the default LAN has changed to 192.168.2.1 is now a Virtual LAN interface and is bridged with the Virtual WAN interface of the proxy which is 2.2, It also has a another LAN interface VLAN of 192.168.4.1 Id =10 which is hooked up to the 4.2 of the proxy, this interface is to bypass the VPN and is routed out the WAN. Up until this point everything works as intended normal LAN clients can access the internet through the VPN, and my isolated Subnet can access the web through the WAN, i can also access any game servers i have running locally, and this is where the fun ends, for the life of me i cant get ports open to the outside world, it is strange to me that my Gameserver can access the web and servers can contact steam but beyond that, there seems to be no ports open, i have tried many things such as forwarding ports using nat out the various gateways. According to the various port checking sites i have visited all my ports are closed, even port 80 and i know this can not be because i can access the web just fine. I appreciate that i may have many extra steps to take with my currant configuration in order to get this to work, and i am very much looking forward to any help than can be given. Thanks in Advance.

Greetings, I've searched for forums, but couldn't find a concrete answer. Is it possible to use AirVPN as a proxy server? I'd like to run it, but NOT have it redirect all traffic through air's vpn, only specific browser traffic that I point to it. I'm looking at using Switchy! for chrome, which can route traffic through a proxy based on domain name (or other rules), and am wondering if I can setup AirVPN to be used as the proxy to go through when these rules trigger.

Hello guys, I'm using the home theater software Kodi on a Raspberry and I would like to use AirVPN as a proxy, since certain things are country-restricted. As far as I know there is no official support for a proxy from the AirVPN team, however, can anyone more knowledgeable than me tell me if it is still possible? I have attached a photo of the settings menu for the proxy, and I think OSMC runs on Debian, so I might be able to access the command line. Thanks for your help.

Came across this article today. I think AirVPN runs Tor nodes, right? https://www.whonix.org/blog/combining-tor-vpn-proxy-can-make-less-anonymous "Tor avoids using more than one relay belonging to the same operator in the circuits it is building." ...but Tor isn't aware that my first connection to the internet is over VPN. So if Air is my first hop, and Air is also operating an exit that I connect to; they've become the first and last hop. This could expose Air users to correlation attacks. "It is possible to host Tor relays [any… bridges, entry, middle or exit] behind VPNs or tunnel-links. For example, there are VPN providers that support VPN port forwarding. This is an interesting way to contribute to Tor while not exposing oneself to too much legal risk. Therefore, there can be situations, where a VPN or other tunnel-link and a Tor relays could be hosted by the same operator, in the same network or even on the same IP."

Hello. Not sure if someone uses the Bulk image downloader but anyway . So apparently due to vpn this program can't connect to any site at all. Basically all I need to do is to configure it using proxy. Unfortunately, I am not sure where to get the necessary data. Can you help me? It asks about proxy address, proxy port, login and password.

Hello, I was wondering if it were possible to have a proxied VPN connection with AirVPN. (I'm not talking about running something like TOR through a VPN) I know of another VPN (which I won't name) that offers one and I found it very useful, that way I can set which applications will and will not use the VPN. It's also another way to prevent torrent applications from running if there is no VPN access; you can bind to MAC address and set up to run through a socks5 proxy. There is a specific reason why I need it, MS Office 365 doesn't seem to be able to connect through a VPN connection but runs fine with it off.

Good morning, For starters, I'll say that I am new to your VPN, this is actually my very first paid VPN, and although I have done a lot of research and understand the entire concept there are still a few sticking points that confuse me. With that said, I have really enjoyed the service you provide and the extensive effort your team puts into keeping our internet privacy top priority. Seriously, well done. So up until now, I have not had any issues connecting. I was able to get up and running with no problem and have stayed connected when I've needed to be connected. I woke up this morning and was off the network and Eddie seemed to be frozen. I had to do a force quit and when I restarted it, every time I try to reconnect It stalls on checking route and then disconnects and I can't get on any of the servers. I have OSX with latest OS and latest Eddie. Additionally I'd like to get a bit of help explaining to me DNS and proxy once I get my issue resolved. I understand some of it but I just need a clearer explanation of how I can implement even tighter security using DNS tunneling, port forwarding and proxies. Things I would like to achieve: I'd like to ultimately connect to TOR through the VPN in the most effective way.I'd like to understand the advantages of DNS, tunneling and port forwarding so I can take advantage of its uses.If you could tell me if having OSX, if Eddie is still the better option or should I connect using my own VPN options through my OSI'd like to set up my own personal VPN through my OS so that I can be connected to my Windows Laptop when I need toand could you tell me if with service if we have use of private proxies or does the fact I am on a VPN do a way of needing to use a proxy? Thanks in advance for anything you can help me with and best regards LB

Dear support, I want to connect to AirVPN-Servers via SOCKS5 Server which supports UDP packets. So I added the line socks-proxy sockshost 1080 login.txt basic to my AirVPN-OpenVPN configuration file. Connection to SOCKS was successful, but not to your OpenVPN server: Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732339 UDPv4 link local: [undef] Wed Dec 16 10:44:55 2015 us=732453 UDPv4 link remote: [AF_INET]213.152.161.116:2018 WWWWW Do you block incoming SOCKS connections (perhaps from common SOCKS ports?) to your OpenVPN-Servers?

Hi All I'm in need of some clarification in regards to my proxy setup. What's the difference between setting up proxy on the osx network interface(and connecting via airvpn udp/tcp 443) vs. using airvpn config with proxy?. My current setup is I use a proxy on osx network interface(http port 8080) and connecting via airvpn server(udp 443). I have managed to meet my objectives which are to unblock certain websites and faster http file sharing downloads via download manager(e.g uploaded). Is my setup correct, anonymous and secure?. What's the difference when using the config-with-proxy (airvpn) because when I check my ip, it's the airvpn exit node and not of the proxy. I have a download manager that only mainly relies on osx main proxy interface( the app needs password authentification for proxy unlike a browser's setup), so, so far my current setup allows me to meet my objectives. Hope to get more clarification on this. Thanks a mill'!

On my home network, I have a public IP and run a few public services (email server, web, etc). These have no need for AirVPN. On the other hand, all of my client computers I would like to run through AirVPN (laptop when I fire it up, tablets, desktop, etc). I am thinking the easiest way to do this is to set up one box (a virtual machine) running as an alternate gateway on my network that is always connected to AirVPN. I could statically assign addresses and gateways to my servers, but then allow DHCP to route all client traffic through this alternate gateway (and thus through AirVPN). My question, has anyone done this successfully. If so how? I dont want to set up my router to connect to the VPN since I need to have services run through it from my ISPs static IP. I could run just about any flavor of linux or windows to get this to work if someone has a proven method. I found a link to a similar project on the OpenVPN site, but the directions seem to be incomplete. I build three separate VMs trying to get it working, no luck.

I've spent the last hour trying to find out why I don't have any problem connecting to AirVPN but still have a red "Not connected" warning on all pages. Turns out that I had a privoxy adblock proxy installed and actively used on my computer. So while the vpn connection worked well it wasn't actually used because all traffic was routed through the proxy and not through the tunnel. Hope this helps someone because the forums and the internet didn't solve this problem.

Hi, I got a problem when connecting the AirVPN clinet through the Tor Browser Bundle 3.5.4 (Windows). First, I got the following error message: Attempting to establish TCP connection with [AF_INET]127.0.0.1:9150 TCP connection established with [AF_INET]127.0.0.1:9150 socks_handshake: server asked for username/login auth but we were not provided any credentials SIGTERM[soft,init_instance] received, process exiting Failed to start. So I have replaced the port setting in the torrc-defaults file to: SOCKSPort 127.0.0.1:9150 PreferSOCKSNoAuth Now the error message looks like this: Attempting to establish TCP connection with [AF_INET]127.0.0.1:9150 TCP connection established with [AF_INET]127.0.0.1:9150 recv_socks_reply: Socks proxy returned bad reply SIGTERM[soft,init_instance] received, process exiting Failed to start. What should I do now?
