Hello, I'm running Deluge torrent client on Raspbian and using hummingbird 1.0.2 Deluge network configuration has option to set up incoming and outgoing ports. I'm using a port number that was provided to me through Air Vpn port forwarding set up as incoming port. However I'm not sure what I should be using for the outgoing ports. Should I use random ports or use the same port number as I'm using for incoming ports? Also should all the network extras be unchecked?

Hay! So I recently bought myself a subscription of 3 days just to test things out, and so far I am completely and utterly lost. My initial reasons for buying the vpn services was to torrent, however are there things I NEED to know first? Do I need to connect anything to something? I use deluge if that helps. I tried looking into the FAQ and sadly everything on it is just a bit too TECHNICAL for me to fully understand Sadly I'm an idiot when it comes to understanding things and very nervous about all of this, since this is again new to me I'm sorry for bothering anyone (and hopefully I didnt post in the wrong forum O_O)

Edit: Because this post continues to bring people to my github page, I'd like to make things a bit easier. I have pushed my images to Dockerhub, so you no longer need to build these images yourself. Unfortunately there are still a few manual steps. Here's a step-by-step to get this running: 1) You still need to install Docker and docker-compose as described below. 2) You need to grab two files from my repository. https://github.com/rahmnathan/docker/blob/master/deluge/docker-compose.yml and https://github.com/rahmnathan/docker/blob/master/deluge/airvpn/resolv.conf 3) In the docker-compose file that you grabbed, you need to set the USERNAME and PASSWORD environment variables to your AirVPN credentials. 4) In the docker-compose file that you grabbed, you need to update the 'volumes' section to point to the resolv.conf file that you grabbed. This file configures Air to use AirVpn's DNS servers. Normally this is automatic with eddie, but there are some issues in Docker that currently prevent this, so it needs to be mapped as a volume. 5) Run 'docker-compose up -d' in the directory of the docker-compose.yml file. More often than not, the airvpn container stops at 'Ready' before AirVPN connects. I haven't resolved this yet, but if you toggle 'docker-compose down'/'docker-compose up -d' a few times, it eventually goes through. If anyone knows why this is happening, please let me know or submit a pull request against my repo and I'd be happy to merge it. To expand on that, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd be happy to implement them or accept PRs. --------------------- After several days of grind, I was finally able to get my vpn/deluge Docker swarm working properly. The goal of this was to create an isolated/portable environment to use my vpn so I could run it without changing the external IP of everything else running on the host system. Fair warning, I'm terrible at how-to's... The first thing you'll want to do is install Docker and Docker Compose. I like DigitalOcean's guides for this.. Brief Explanation: vpn - This image downloads, configures, and runs Air's Eddie client. deluge - This image downloads, configures, and runs the Deluge deamon. This image will use the network of the 'vpn' container, which is completely locked down outside of the docker swarm unless it's through the vpn. That brings us to... nginx - This image downloads, configures, and runs nginx. Because our swarm's network is isolated from the host's we need to utilize nginx as a reverse proxy to get into it. This is simply a gateway for us to access the Deluge daemon. Hopefully that's enough information for anyone interested to get started. The cool thing about this is you can force any container through the vpn while leaving the host machine/other containers running outside of the vpn. This gives us a very scalable, portable, isolated way to use the awesome service provided by Air. Feel free to ask questions and suggest edits. Thanks

I'm trying to get the Deluge daemon (deluged) to work with AirVPN on Linux. I'm using Deluge 1.3.13 and Openvpn 2.3.14. I forwarded port 14447 via client configuration with TCP & UDP and local port 58846 (what Deluge uses). I have attached my core.conf to this post. I disabled UPnP and NAT-PMP, and put listening port as 14447. However, upload speed is constant 0. Downloading seems to work, however. What do I need to change to get seeding working?

Hi, I gave AirVPN a try with a 1 euro trial. I actually try to switch from PIA (provateinternetaccess.com) for some reason. I'm using a Raspberry Pi (SSH access, no GUI). Downloading an openvpn conf file was flawless and wget http://ipinfo.io/ip -qO - gives me a suited IP. Fine. My probem is : Deluge does no more start a boot, while the same config used to work fine with PIA. I set up Deluge as in the official Deluge systemd documentation : http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/UserGuide/Service/systemd . So as to bind Deluge to the VPN connection, in your openvpn file, I added route-up /etc/openvpn/route-up.sh down /etc/openvpn/down.sh with route-up.sh beeing #!/bin/sh iptables -t nat -I POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE systemctl start deluged and down.sh beeing #!/bin/sh iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE systemctl stop deluged What's wrong with that ? (it was fine with PIA)

Hello everyone I have a problem with Deluge when used with AirVPN, under Eddie client, v.2.10.3. If i don't activate AirVPN, Deluge is downloading at about 4MiB/s for a random debian image. If i do the same with AirVPN activated, my download speed becomes really slow, never above 40Kib/s. I've tried a lot of things. Changing server, configuring Eddie to use some other ports like SSL, SSH and other alternative ports, tried some parameters in Deluge too... And no changes... I double checked too that the port set in Deluge parameters is forwarded in my client interface on AirVPN website and still no changes. I noticed that my port forwarding in AirVPN website now indicates some bad result when I press the "check" button (not reachable, error 111). Why is it so now ? Other thing I noticed, when Deluge is started, i can barely surf the web, it's veeeeeeery slow. Seems like I have not only one problem, but at least two... Any suggestions ? Hello everyone, I purchased AirVPN recently to keep my torrent traffic private, and am just now getting around to putting it to use. However, I'm getting some extremely slow speeds, or rather no speed at all. I'm using the AirVPN client and letting it connect to a recommended server, but consistently get 0 B/s (Yes, that's B/s) download and upload. It will occasionally jump to ~100 B/s, or even ~100 KB/s, but drops back to 0 B/s shortly after. I also took the speed test on this website which gave the following results: Down: 0.477 Mbit/s Out, 0.470 Mbit/s In (98%), 1MB - Up: 0.382 Mbit/s Out, 0.322 Mbit/s In (84%), 1MB - Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2015 19:28:09 GMT - Buffers: 1MB/1MB - Laps: 3, Time: 325.56 secs Not quite 0 B/s like the AirVPN client says, but still unacceptably slow considering I get around 50-60 Mbits/s download and upload (Verizon) when not connected to the VPN. I'm a total greenhorn when it comes to just about anything networking, and assume I messed something up when trying to configure the VPN with my torrent client (Deluge), so I'm just going to go into what exactly I've done so far and then maybe someone here can give me some guidance. First, I followed the P2P optimization guide found here: https://airvpn.org/faq/p2p/ In the end, my settings look like this: http://i.imgur.com/SnGiGJ9.png Which looks correct to me, for whats its worth. Second, I setup Windows firewall rules to block Deluge's connection in the event that the VPN unexpectedly disconnects, or I forget to turn it on or something. I did so following this guide: https://vpn.ac/knowledgebase/55/Windows-Firewall-rules-to-block-P2PorTorrent-traffic-if-VPN-disconnects.html I tested to make sure it works with the little speed I have and it does seem to work. I'll get a few KB/s while connected to the VPN, and it will stop or start back up when I disconnect and reconnect to the VPN respectively. Aside from those two things, I've done nothing else, and don't even know if there is still more I need to do aside from those two things. I'm hoping the pros here can point me in the right direction because what I've tried to find out on my own so far has been fruitless. Thanks in advance!
