We have had a major problem on backend servers between 05.09 UTC and 06:12 UTC. We're investigating.
We apologize.

I feel kind of lost here. I just don't know how to find a port that will have a proper 'green' connection. I know to set my client to listen to that port, i get that. I can't find one that comes up green in the first place.
Hello!
It's not a hunting game! The port you have remotely forwarded must match the port your service listens to. After you have started the client, begin the tests. Which client is it?
Kind regards
-
Hello!
The forwarded packets to your ports are tunneled like all the rest, so it's not relevant which ports on the router you open or not (but it's important that on the router you do NOT open the same ports that you have remotely forwarded in order to prevent correlation attacks).
Once you have remotely forwarded a port or multiple ports, please make sure that the related service is running and listening to the same port(s).
Just a question, why did you publish the speedtest? It has nothing to do with the forwarded ports tests.
Kind regards

Hello!
Can you please make sure that while the test is running your services are running as well and listening to the correct ports?

@Anonymous Writer
Hello!
Thank you for your considerations.
We follow closely OpenVPN evolution in available ciphers. ECC is currently not available in stable releases.
On the other hand, as you stated RSA-2048 is unbreakable, and we still have the option to evolve certificates toward RSA-4096 for authentication purposes, while standing on AES-256 for the data channel as we do now.
Therefore, it might be a mistake to rush toward ECC with a patch. In the best scenario, it would not add significant security in the authentication during these years. In the worst scenario, it may lead to a catastrophe. The wisest choice in our opinion is waiting for ECC full suppport in official OpenVPN releases (2.3, hopefully?), which will allow independent peer-reviews, essential for security.

Hello!
Can you please try with OpenVPN or OpenVPN GUI directly? The generator for the files you need is available in menu "Member Area"->"Access Without Our Client".
After that, please send us again the OpenVPN logs and your configuration file.

Hello!
Quite difficult to figure it out... anyway, can you please make sure that the proxy types match? OpenVPN supports connections over both http and socks proxies, but it must know in advance which proxy type it will meet. Perhaps OpenVPN is expecting a http proxy instead of a socks one.

Hello!
We're sorry to inform you that Geminorum has been suddenly dismissed for ISP requests that are beyond our tolerance. We kindly ask you to switch to Virginis (1 Gbit/s) if you need a Swiss server.
Our expansion plans in Switzerland will go on unmodified, with a focus on 1 Gbit/s port servers.

Hello,
I had just purchased a month subscription.
But I can't log into the air vpn client.
Because it says "account not activate".
How can I log into client ?
Please tell me.
Thanks.
Hello!
Your subscription transaction is under review by PayPal and has been frozen. As soon as the review ends, you will either get back your money or have your account activated.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but it does not depend on us in any way.

Hello!
No password authentication is required, you have server certificate, client certificate and client key. All of them are pointed by your .ovpn configuration file(s).
Which client are you using to connect? Can you please try OpenVPN directly and send us the logs?
Kind regards

I am spending some time at a health care astablishment as staff. When I connected to their WiFi last night I found I was unable to view any catchup TV service due to a firewall block they had put in place. I then tried to run AirVPN which returned the same result so have now, from a different location, added the Netherlands frontend IP address to my hosts file, as discussed in another thread, to try and gain access tomorrow.
If I should still experience an issue, can you suggest any other ways I can hopefully cirumvent the firewall block please, since I think I'm correct in saying that AirVPN has only two frontend IP addresses?
Thank you in advance.
Hello!
You are right, currently there are only two public frontends. Adding a frontend is a very quick matter, so we can add them according to needs.
Please also consider that even if access to all frontends were blocked from your place, you can anyway access the VPN servers via OpenVPN (i.e. you can't use the Air client, which needs access to airvpn.org - this will change in future client versions). You will need to take with you the configurations, certificates and key generated by our configuration generator when you are in a place where you can access one of the frontends. For particular circumvention needs please do not hesitate to contact us in private.

hello,
i'm not sure if this really is a vpn issue, but it may have to do with networking so i'll just ask here:
while downloading with bittorrent 7.6, i had a look at the list of connescted peers. normally, in the first column i see the ip adress of each of them. strangely, on connected peer didn't display its ip, but the nam of my computer.
how could this be? is it similar to an emule nick-thief and therefore harmless, or should i be worried?
thanks for any ideas about that.
Hello!
When you see that, can you please make sure that you are connected to the VPN and that Bittorrent is NOT configured to use a (local) proxy?

I am using a Mac, and realize I need to use ipfw, but what program do I use to go in and edit this?
I read the thread but am still confused.
Hello!
Sorry, the link in announcement is inaccurate, it links directly to the page of the ipfw rules. Please see here for descriptive instructions:
We have fixed the link in the announcement section as well.

A few points,
1: @manif3ste didn't post at mbam forum, but I know who did.
2: Very easy to add a IP to "Ignore List", simply right click mbam tray icon and add.
3: Very easy to disable " Website Blocking" if you wish, simply right click tray icon and uncheck.
4: It was never implied that airvpn.org has/had malware. It's the hosting company that's at issue.
Hope this clears up some of the hysteria.
Regards,
Bubo
Hello!
Thank you.
It was never implied that Malwarebytes insinuates that airvpn.org has/had malware. It's blocking a whole hosting company or network without "fine-grane" discernment the issue.

I was investigating proxies and came across Proxify while connected to Air. They didn't seem to happy too see me. At the top of the site it read "Proxify error." Down below was this statement: "You are connecting to Proxify from an IP address which has been associated with abusive or fraudulent activity. Due to the risk of fraud and potential for abuse, Proxify cannot allow you to login or subscribe to the service via this IP address. If you believe this message is in error please contact us and we will investigate right away."
I wasn't sure what to do as this has never happened to me before. Anyone else? If I disconnect it defeats the purpose of using VPN.
Hello!
From which Air server did you notice that warning?
That Proxify checks your IP address may be interpreted as a sinister warning: they might be willing to back-track you in case you don't use their service as they would like you to.

I read the thread, but I'm still confused how to implement this.
I would like to stop all traffic if the VPN disconnects.
I don't know where to begin.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello!
We're sorry, while you can use an account on as many devices as you wish, only one can connect at a given time. Multiple and simultaneous connections with the same account are not authorized.
Please see here for additional information:

Hello!
We're not aware about particular issues with GMail and Facebook (just register the exit-IP of our servers as authorized on your accounts) but surely PayPal will block transactions, and eventually suspend momentarily the account. if you use your account from behind a VPN, a proxy or TOR.

Hello!
For online gaming a very important thing is latency. You should use the server which can give you the lowest latency times.
About playing online games outside the VPN even while connected to the VPN, a little hack may help you: bind the games clients to your physical interface with ForceBindIP. Please read carefully the instructions.

Just a simple question: Do I need to be running the AirVPN and OpenVPN GUI clients at the same time, or just one or the other?
Hello!
Just one. You must NOT run them simultaneously.

Since last Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO version 1.65.1.1000 upgrade, The web ip blocking module Class AIR vpn ip 212.117.180.25 malicious.
The only way to connect on the VPN client or the Web site is to disable the 3 windows process the module PRO version use.
After finding the issue i have Ask the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware support forum. I received from a "admin'' the problem
isn't an False Positive detection. The issue is a very high level of malicious conent across Root SA (aka Root eSolutions) IP space. ?
Thanks, and i hope this info is useful for the admin here.
URL from the mbam forum:
Hello!
Thank you very much for the information.
We obviously confirm that no malware or malicious activity has ever originated from our website.
Blacklisting a whole network because malicious activity has been detected from some or many IP addresses of that network says it all on how Malwarebytes works and it does not even deserve further comments by this admin. Additional comments may or may not be added by the AirVPN staff or other admins.

It is indeed working for now, but there are times when I can't connect to any server and it says authentication failed. I don't know why it does this.
Hello!
Did you upgrade your Tunnelblick?
When it happens, check your control panel in the website before trying again (menu "Member Area"->"Your Details"), you will find explanations that can be useful.

My service was working well with TunnelBlick, now today, it doesn't matter which server I pick, it keeps saying authentication failed. I didn't change my password.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
Hello!

Hello!
They didn't, BUT the server monitor could not show the correct stats. Additionally, new client connections could not be authorized. This problem was already solved in the past. We will let you know whether this has been a new type of incident, in which case we'll take the necessary steps to avoid its recurrence.
