Gopher should be Gemini instead, but that's even more niche than Gopher already is. Main advantage would be obligatory TLS, and the use of more or less agreed-upon GemText. In any case, I am interested in how an experiment involving the use of something like GemText as actual BB software would look like. Be advised that Mastodon's preferred DBMS is pgsql, too.
