What changes does airvpn and the network lock make to an arch linux system?

I'm having the problem that I can't use internet when I'm not using AirVPN. It seems to have something to do with the DNS settings on my system. Troubleshooting options I've tried:

 

Resolv.conf

cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by resolvconf
nameserver 192.168.1.1

Check if iptables rules are active

sudo iptables -L -n
[sudo] password for user: 
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination         


Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination         


Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target     prot opt source               destination

What else can I try? What other changes does AirVPN and it's network lock make to a linux system?

I'm not sure if resolve.conf needs 127.0.0.1 or the AirDNS at the top 10.4.0.1 haha.

How do I change this without directly changing the resolv.conf on Arch linux / manjaro systems? Does anyone else have this problem on linux, how did you fix it?

This is horrible, so AirVPN is basically forces you to stay a customer with this problem. Do I have to completely reinstall my system after my plan expires? Because I can't use the internet without AirVPN. How do I resolve this?

Nothing horrible, relax and don't let your computer dominate you. If you killed Eddie without grace, obviously you did not allow it to restore your previous system settings.

 

If that happened, you can fix the issue in less than 20 seconds by re-running Eddie and shutting it down properly, or by flushing iptables rules and checking your DNS settings.

I needed run the following command for my system to be able to change the DNS configuration again.

 

chattr -i /etc/resolv.conf
