Dreadful HuffPo article on "the best" VPNs

Recommended Posts

Hello!

If news media were really about informing people....... They'd hardly be news media now would they

Besides, it would be a little unfair if those listed VPNs didn't get into the top 5 now that they've paid the entrance fee

Moderators do not speak on behalf of AirVPN. Only the Official Staff account does. Please also do not run Tor Exit Servers behind AirVPN, thank you.
Did you make a guide or how-to for something? Then contact me to get it listed in my new user guide's Guides Section, so that the community can find it more easily.

Anyone else notice how it's always the same VPN's that are the "best"? I wonder how much those companies spend each year on shills.

Given a good offer, such sites will even recommend a Galaxy Note 7 as the best smartphone

To be honest, using one of the recommended services by the Huffington post is about as dangerous as duct taping two S7's to both sides of your face while their plugged in and running intensive applications XD

Even the Daily Terrorist recommends replacing classical bombs with Galaxy Note 7 mobiles, they're easier to transport and even help Samsung sell them all. A very costly but highly effective way (German resource).

They nicked the idea from Commando!

It is a also a bit amusing the 1 liner bio/CV of the author:

"Success Coach, Business Development Consultant, Motivational Speaker, and Writer"

and with a click

"a serial entrepreneur, a success coach, a business development consultant, a strategist, a motivational speaker, and a freelance writer. He writes on other cool platforms like Entrepreneur magazine, Success.com, Good Men Project, and Business 2 Community. He is the founder of My Startup CEO where he gives kick-ass motivation and provides helpful tips for start-up business success"

This article is presumably with the Writer hat on, but HuffPo seems to get a lot of stuff for free or cheap. So maybe not a big recommend for the "Success Coach" etc hats either.

There is an expression in English "talking through his hat". Maybe after just a "free lunch".

I was going to comment on this. He is one of those tards that dishes out generic and useless advice he has copied from other tards, and as usual when these tards talk about any field you know anything about you instantly notice that it's just a BSing tard. As for this specific list it's probably just a copy/paste routine from some paid shill, with the tard in question being too dumb to even get paid by the VPN providers for copying it. Great Success Coach.

Which is based on lies as we proved in a discussion in our forums (the identity of the account is confirmed). The author (account "thatoneprivacyguy" in the thread linked below) was unable to support his opinions. When he was put in front of compelling evidence all he was able to do was stating that he did not change his mind. This behavior made him lose any credibility. See yourself:

https://airvpn.org/topic/19586-a-review-on-another-site/

Therefore you can't trust the author, unfortunately not even when he writes good things about us. By the way, the web site lacks the most essential information about VPN settings and security (it does not even say if VPN gateway and DNS IP addresses match or not, for example, or how OpenVPN is exactly configured). Not to mention the hilarious "No" AirVPN got in some boxes, like "Gives back to privacy causes" (compare our mission https://airvpn.org/mission and who we are to check what a macroscopic lie it is).

Kind regards

Yeah, I'm really disappointed in him.  I respected his opinions on Reddit for a long time, and we talked about VPNs often.  But he's not very good at evidence based, objective analysis of things. He has highly unmovable opinions on my things, which are not objectively correct.
