Airvpn was working for 3 days i bought as trial, and i decided to upgrade to a 3 month plan.

However, airvpn choses to not work anymore since today.

I CHANGED NO SETTINGS!!! As soon as i now connect to airvpn my internet stops working.

If i disable airvpn then internet works again.

Airvpn client says im connected successfully.

help please! i tried multiple servers already!

It would be helpful if you could provide some logs from the AirVPN Eddie program - there's a logs tab and a button which will copy the logs. You can then paste them here. Please use spoiler tags.

Also, what OS are you running and are you using any additional security software?

Under preferences, you can try using other protocols as well.

I have the same problem connecting from a 64 bit Mint 17.3 virtual machine running on a Windows 10 host. It's only the Dutch VPN servers that are giving a problem though, as everything works fine connecting through a UK server (currently connected through (Asterion). I've not tried other countries Are the system admin team making any network changes connected with the pending move of the Dutch servers?

I have the same problem. I use Ubuntu 16.4 via a virtual machine. First I tried to connect with Eddie, but I am not able to use it. Because when I want to tick the boxes at licenceagreement, the program is like frozen and i have to restart Ubuntu. Via the Networkmanager I can connect but the browser don`t load any page. I am an absolute Beginner and hope that someone can help me.

Hello!

Please check the real time servers monitor (if you don't run Eddie or don't use our domain names for countries) because we have 2 servers in the Netherlands down. Maybe you were trying to connect to those two. Anyway, just a speculation, because in this thread we unfortunately see a total lack of logs in spite of repeated requests of them by some of the community members... remember that without logs, in most cases it's not possible to provide any support.

Real time servers monitor is accessible by clicking "Status" in our web site top menu.

Look, you can't just quote one piece of the logs, we need the entire log. This is the equivalent of having to solve a murder case and being told the murderer is a man with two arms and two legs. How many people do you think fit this description? It's information, but it's not useful by itself. But if we know the where, when, what, how and who in the case, we can deduct that maybe the murder wasn't a murder, but in fact an accident, or that it wasn't an accident, since a person with 2 arms and 2 legs was seen running away from the scene of the crime; thus making that first bit of information actually useful anyway. Thus, we need the entire log, as it has many kinds of information. If you can't or won't provide more information, then you should likewise expect to either not get any help or to otherwise not getting your problem solved, despite whatever small attempts at help you may still have received.

If you go to your Eddie client - or whatever client you use - there's a tab somewhere which will say "Logs" or something similar. Copy all the logs and then paste them here, in the aforementioned spoiler tags.

I'm now connecting OK to the Dutch serves; currently connected via Skat. I did not make any changes to my configuration, so I guess someone at AirVPN found the magic screwdriver.

I was only testing to see if I could access the Netherlands servers which I couldn’t earlier using my Mac. Unfortunately I couldn't included a log as was using a remote to access the error log via Kodi on my TV and was in the middle of sorting my kids out. I had expected that users who were able to copy and paste logfiles would have done it as per requests. If it persists tonight I will quite happily supply the required info....

Hi all,

I'm (trying to) set up AirVPN on my Raspberry Pi 3 / Kodi using VPN Manager for OpenVPN.

I am able to get a "Initialization Sequence Completed" message, and when I log in (on my laptop) to check my "Current sessions statistics" in client area of airvpn.org it shows I have a successful connection, HOWEVER - I am not able to stream or see any content. If i disconnect the session then I have no problems.

Is it DNS related and not starting?

if so, how do I configure or get that to work?

I'm a bit of a newbie with code, so please be gentle.

Hi,

I had the same problem today. Happened totally out of the blue as it's been working fine for over a year already on my setup (Intel NUC with Ubuntu 16.04 using openvpn, not the GUI).

I suspect there was an automatic update over night or something for Ubuntu that "broke" this... The connection was there but no traffic went through. Pinging IPs worked though, so definitely DNS related.

Found out that for some reason the resolv.conf gets emptied after connecting to VPN now.

After a bit of digging I found a "workaround" by adding these 3 lines to my client configuration:

script-security 2
up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf
down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf

Maybe it's useful to others as well...

me too on windows 10 after the big microsoft patch day i can't get an connection to the internet with eddie...it connects to the server but now data is going through

Is it added to the /etc/resolv.conf file?
Or, do you mean add it to the .ovpn files that are generated by the "config generator" in our client area (AirVPN)?

Hi you have to remove the kaspersky protection addon from firefox, to do so you have to disable it in kaspersky under web ant- virus then extended options there put the mark away on the first point. once this is done start firefox new and then connect with eddie ...now it should work

WRONG METHOD:

After creating a new .ovpn file using the "advanced mode" in the Config Generator, I went back into OpenVPN Manager (in Kodi) to try again with a new .ovpn file to configure the first VPN connection. The same process I have been trying in vane to get working. Unfortunately, once again, it didn't work!

The answer my friend, was not blowing in the wind, it is the following steps entered into your Raspberry Pi using Putty SSH.

# STEP 1. Get your current package list updated:
sudo apt-get update

# STEP 2. Install the openvpn daemon/package:
sudo apt-get install openvpn

# STEP 3. Download the needed config files and then copy them to the pi (via scp or FTP), then unzip them into /etc/openvpn
sudo mv AirVPN.tar.gz /etc/openvpn
sudo tar -xf AirVPN.tar.gz

cd /etc/openvpn

# NOTE: The name of the tar archive is different:- #### is an unique id.

# STEP 4. Make the up/down script executable

sudo chmod +x /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf

# STEP 5. Use the following command to get connected (replace config file with the one of the VPN server you want to connect to):
sudo openvpn --daemon --cd /etc/openvpn --config AirVPN_####_UDP-443.ovpn

# Check status:
Type: curl ipinfo.io/ip

# STEP 6. To disconnect run:
killall -9 openvpn

# Optional configuration

I do have a couple of questions though:

Q1. Kodi / System / System Info is not showing my IP address as masked, instead it remains my local 192.168.#.## address. However, when I display the VPN status using VPN Manager for OpenVPN it shows my network location masked as provided by AirVPN. Why is the Kodi System Info showing it incorrectly?

Q2. Should I run the following commands to block all outbound traffic from my Raspberry Pi to only allow the VPN and related services to work?

That way the only way my Pi can get to the internet is through the VPN.

Hi thanks to mazeman for your input, tried everything now and still no connection, did as you said with kaspersky but still didnt work. Uninstalled the latest windows updates one at a time, still no change. Got open vpn working on an android device so i think its a windows problem. Been useing air vpn eddie for a long time now without any problems, but thinking i might have to switch to another vpn provider as iam at a loss having tried evrything i can, iam only a basic vpn user and some of the posts on here are way above what i can do.

According to this thread, Kaspersky is causing the issue. You can try the workarounds in that thread but some have reported that they could get their connexion working only after completely uninstalling Kaspersky!

Hello, I am experiencing the same problem. Just two days ago everything worked fine. Now I start the vpn through openvpn in the console and it seems to connect, but I can't surf the internet anyway. This happens with every server I have tried. I attach the log file obtained with the --log option from openvpn. My system is a parabola linux 4.10.3.
