  1. I use airVpn only for torrenting. And now everytime I connect to your service, through the eddieUI I will connect to no seeders, nor peers. Not using the vpn is no problem on the other hand. If I start downloading a torrent file nothing happens, unless I restart the utorrent client. Sometimes needs a couple of restarts. This is very annoying and should not be happening and has not been happening before. I have a forwarded port and I tried another.
  2. When I have AirVPN connected and download a torrent in Utorrent it says Connecting to Peers and DHT says Waiting to announce, and Trackers say Connection Unknown..Have to disconnect AirVPN and restart Utorrent then let it connect and then the Trackers and DHT work fine then reconnect AirVPN and all ok...??
  3. Hi, I've only done this once before years ago and have forgotten all about it, so just to be prepared and so on, I treat myself as an absolute beginner. You just download the client and nothing else? Is there any particular/crucial settings I should be aware of, in the client or in utorrent and so on? I never experienced any major trouble while using it. That should be all, for now.
  4. I'm running AirVPN v.2.10.3 on a Windows 7 laptop with NOD32 antivirus (just downgraded from NOD32 internet security so that I can install the Comodo Firewall). I am messing around with these settings because the old uTorrent (v. 1.8.2; there is a reason for this) stopped downloading for some reason, and I couldn't figure it out in the NOD32 firewall settings. I am writing this post because I am confused about how the AirVPN "Network Lock" feature works with the Windows Firewall (especially since I will be using the Comodo setup here). Is there a conflict of some sort or problem with using Comodo Firewall along with the "Network Lock" feature? Or do they not work together? Also, if there are specific instructions on how to get uTorrent working on AirVPN (still doesn't work), I'm still at a loss. Thanks. JP
  5. Hi, I have been using AirVPN successfully on my system using this guide above on my private trackers for nearly a year. https://airvpn.org/topic/9549-traffic-splitting-guide-to-setting-up-vpn-only-for-torrenting-on-windows-thanks-to-nadre/?hl=utorrent I had successfully setup this system to work using the guide whereby uTorrent was using AirVPN and my browsing traffic using my own internet connection. Firstly, prior to this issue I have noticed that despite changing server 3 or 4 times. I cannot get a speed faster than 3.0mb/s when downloading on uTorrent. Previously I was getting between 8 and 12 down, running a test with my own internet gives me my max speed of around 30mb/s down. Two of my trackers have switched to using a HTTPS tracker address rather than a HTTP one and the downloads or uploads no longer work. I receive an Error of "A connection with the server cannot be established" and the tracker won't connect. The HTTP connections work fine. I have tested and either removing the firewall block to my non VPN IP allows the connections to go through when I have modified the Route table. Alternatively, If I remove the route table modification and allow all data to flow through the VPN. The torrent starts downloading. I am using the latest OpenVPN and UDP connections to Dutch or UK servers.
  6. Hi I just installed the AirVPN client and spent the last 3hours looking through the forums on how to increase the speed of the download. I was downloading this torrent at an average of 2mb/s unfiltered, then I turn on AirVPN and its down to around 300 kb/s. I've forwarded a port, checked with open port check tool, set the port in utorrent, all that jazz. I've played around with the msfix cmd and theres not much change, I've set my buffers to max. My ISP speed is 200mb/s down 20mb/s up. My speed with AirVPN up is 44.46 Mb/s down, 17.15 mb/s up. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. When I have Eddie running am I automatically protected in uTorrent? or Are there setting I need to configure with uTorrent and Eddie to make sure all my setting are private and anonymous. Also I have Network Lock activated, what does this do. I have network lock on and my server disconnects does this free traffic? Any help would be awesome. Newbie.

  9. Hi, I have just started the 3 day trial to see if AirVPN works for me. At the moment there is a big problem with using uTorrent with AirVPN, which makes it kind of useless to me. I have followed the official guide - disabled port forwarding on the router, setting a remote forwarded port and using it in uTorrent. AirVPN works fine when I just use a browser. However, every time I start uTorrent, it downloads for about 5 seconds and then the VPN connection drops. It tries restarting, but always fails, so I can't even use browser after that, until I exit the AirVPN program and my normal net connection takes over. After that I have to uninstall the TAP driver to try again, but every time the same failure happens. Please help Relevant configuration: - Win 7 x64 - Kaspersky Total Security installed - Freshly installed AirVPN ver. 2.10.3 What I've tried so far: - Using different protocols (Auto, TCP 443, UDP 443) - Disabling UPnP and NAT in uTorrent - Using a remote forwarded port from airvpn website in uTorrent Last part of the log, before I cancelled the soon to be failed authorization attempt. 10. Ok, so not that long ago I ran into problems setting up VPN for torrenting; and after help from NaDre and the AirVPN staff I was able to set it up. But, I have ran into a few more issues since then............ (Just to note I have no DNS/IP leaks what so ever... Checked with IPleak.net, dnsleaktest.com and dnsleak.com) Issues: When I download the IPleak.net torrent and open it up with a torrent client (Utorrent & Vuze), under the 'Tracker' tab it says: "The handle is invalid". I setup Vuze to correctly bind to the TAP adapter; Installed the VPN Helper for AirVPN Plugin and everything seems fine.... ============================================================================================================================================ Port Forwarding and IP Binding VPN OK! 11. Hi, I have been using AirVPN for a few weeks now and had no issues. The network lock has always been activated, but since yesterday when I open uTorrent or Firefox it looks like these programs are now trying to access the net not through the VPN firewall rules but through their own firewall rules - see below / attached screen prints. So unless I allow the connection I can't download in uTorrent for example. The question now is - Why are these programs creating their own firewall rules and not using the VPN inbound rules? They always used to go through the VPN rules? - If I allow the connections, will these programs still go through the tunnel or am I at risk of broadcasting my real IP? Thanks
  12. Hi, Firstly I'd like to complement you on an excellent network - when I'm running things manually I couldn't hope for more but the problem I'm running into (and yes, I've had a good look round the forums for a solution but I'm only seeing parts) occurs when I try to automate it all. I'm running a system that has an occasional tendency to restart itself every now and then (most likely due to overclocking) and more often than not it does so when I'm not around. I'm trying to get it set up so that when it restarts it logs itself in, connects the VPN and then launches utorrent. My understanding from what I've read on here is that the AirVPN client can only be automated to the point where the program runs at login but cannot be set to automatically connect to a preferred server(s) [please tell me this will be added to a future version]. I'm running Win 7 Home Pro X64 with an intel core i7 960 processor. Having read the faqs/forum posts and guides I have nearly managed to get it working by doing the following: - Modified windows logon to log me in automatically (Start, Run and enter control userpasswords2) - Created a link to a single server using the config generator and copied the .ovpn file to the OpenVPN config directory - Configured the OpenVPN service to start automatically in Computer Management - Used task scheduler in the same way as you described here https://airvpn.org/windows_autostart/ to run utorrent automatically after a log in trigger - but set a 10 minute delay on the action to give the VPN time to connect When it works, it works perfectly - but if for some reason the OpenVPN service fails to start (I've seen the service running but the client area of your site said I wasn't connected as I was already logged in to that server) there's no failsafe in place to prevent utorrent starting up and using an unsecured connection. How can I make the OpenVPN service keep retrying until it gets a successful connection and is there anyway I can implement a failsafe to prevent utorrent running on the offchance that it doesn't? (Or am I just being thick and is there in face a simpler solution) =)
  13. Hi everyone, I'm new to VPN and needed it because I have received a friendly note from my isp about the torrents I downloaded, plus that I wanted to watch programs on UK tv channels (I live in Germany). The BBC iPlayer and Sky Go etc work beautifully; if I download a show from the BBC I get 1.5 - 3 mbs, perfect. However, I barely get 500kbs on uTorrent (and this fluctuates up and down) compared to the 3 - 3.5 mbs i get when AirVPN is switched off. I have read the forum for hours and have found no solution that works e.g. port forwarding, disabling my windows firewall, etc I am running Windows 7 64bit using windows firewall and have a Fritzbox 7390 as a router connected by cable. Is it possible, for a network/VPN numpty as myself to have an absolute "How to" on getting the best configuration for a windows system using uTorrent. Below if it helps, is a shortened copy of my log whilst utorrent is running. 14. Hi everyone, one year ago i used Comodo+uTorrent on WinXP to prevent leaks, which did quite well. But installing Comodo on a Win7 machine always causes the problem, that no connection can be established. uTorrent tells "DHT: Waiting to log in", even if Comodo firewall is NOT on. Which means, installing Comodo firewall changes some of my internet preferences. After deinstalling Comodo firewall, everything works fine. Do you have any ideas? (For me it seems to be any option which has to be set on/off, but i can't get it run.) Thanks a lot, mrronny
  15. Hi guys! I'm having some problems with airvpn: -I noticed that in airvpn client download and upload values don't increase (it's correct?) -I can't open any forwarded port (I always receive the same error : Not reachable on server IP over the external port 5796, tcp protocol. Error : 110 - Connection timed out) Thanks P.s. In "speedtest.net" site I can see that I'am still in Italy and not in UK (the server that I am connected).

  17. Hello AirVPN community, I've been lurking a few months, recently subscribed to the service here and am still learning/experimenting with different configurations. This forum btw, is one of the big reasons I decided to go with AirVPN, so kudos to the community and staff for developing a great knowledge base here. On to my question: I'm trying to route traffic from my Virtual box VM out the VPN interface without having to force ALL host traffic out the VPN. My setup: I followed Nadre's wonderful Traffic splitting guide in order to setup utorrent traffic to go out the VPN interface while the rest of my host(windows 7) traffic goes out the regular LAN interface and it's working marvously. My next goal is to run tails in virtual box and route all traffic from that VM out the VPN. The solution i'm looking for has the following goals: Host traffic goes out the non-vpn interface (check)uTorrent traffic goes out the VPN interface (check)Tails VM traffic goes out the VPN interface while maintaing the two above requirements.I've pondered over some way to use the host routing table to accomplish this, but haven't com up with anything. Virtual Box has a NAT bind option, but it is not currently working from what i gathered from the virtual box forums. I did find another post that claims that what i'm looking to do isn't possible but someone did detail a way to do it with a secondary vm acting as a router. While I could do this, i'd rather not put the extra strain on my host for just day to day stuff unless it's absolutely neccessary. Does anyone around here have a better way to accomplish this without the secondary VM? Thanks!
  18. Hi, I'm having trouble with DHT and uTorrent. My test torrent is OpenOffice. I have a port forwarded on your servers (46555) for uTorrent for both UDP and TCP. Your site's port checker comes back green. But for some reason I cannot get the DHT to properly log in. For testing purposes I also forwarded 46555 on my local router and disconnected from the VPN. While in this setup I'm able to login to DHT just fine. Is it possible that the UDP packets aren't being forwarded (in or out or both)? Thanks
  19. Hello dear community, I am far from being a pro user, so i hope my question won't be too silly or infringe any rule (i guess the moderator will see to that ). I have decided to start using a vpn, hoping to be able to continue using "the possibilities of the torrent world" in a country that now prohibits some of its uses... 1*I am wondering then if i am completely safe from being discovered or tracked by using airVpn? 2*Do i have to only connect to servers that are located in countries who are not cooperating with the angry copyright guys? (like canada, germany, nederlands)? 3*When i start using a server with the air vpn exe, are all my accesses (browser, peer to peer, games, etc) going through the "tunnel"? Do i have to setup utorrent particularly? Thanks in advance for the possible answers =)
  20. Hello! I am using COMODO but the posts on the forum about its configuration lock too many connections for my needs. I only want to prevent two programs from communicating when I am not connected to AirVPN, i.e. utorrent and jdownloader. To do that, I set the configuration shown in the picture below: Can you confirm that I do not have any kind of leaks for the two programs when I disconnect from the VPN? Am I safe even if the connection to you stops working? I made some tests and the configuration seems to be effective (when I disconnect from you the downloads and uploads just stop), but I'd like to have a confirmation. Kind regards, Pr1nc1p1
  21. Hi, I'm having trouble with download speeds through utorrent. without vpn (using the same file as a test) i get approx. 500kB/s with vpn active im getting approx.03 - 3.0kB/s, I've tried all available UK servers, some of which i get no download at all. I'd really appreciate any advise. Thank you.
  22. I have a problem with Utorrent and uploading. My internet connection is 50/50 fiber and gives me these speeds. I didn't expect this for VPN, but I do actually get decent download speeds, so that's good. However, I do not manage to upload much at all. I have forwarded a port on from your web-console: 35295. This has then been setup as the listening port in Utorrent. I have turned off all portforwarding for this port or utorrent on the router. Your web-console shows thee port as open, but Utorrent setup guide reports that port is not open. Utorrent seems to be conflicting itself, cause the little checkmark in the bottom right corner turns green. The max speed i have seen uploading so far has been 250kbps or so, very sad story and not usable. I have included 3 screenshots showing my settings, utorrent status and your web-console. I have tried disabling my Comodo firewall just to see if it makes a difference, but it did not. I only use AirVPN for torrents at the moment, so I don't have it enabled all the time. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to solve it?
