  1. Here is the stack trace log to this problem: http://dpaste.com/1J8JFNS Kernel: 4.15.0-43-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 5.4.0) Desktop: MATE 1.18.0 (Gtk 3.18.9-1ubuntu3.3) info: mate-panel dm: lightdm Distro: Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia I do not know exactly when this problem started, but it is easily reproduced by exiting the client, that's all. Eddie has always been a little moody on my my machine. For example, if I disconnected from my modem or just turned off my ethernet connection in Network Manager or elsewhere before eddie was finished quitting, Eddie would freeze during exit and I would check in top see that xorg or mono would be at 100% cpu. Only way to get past it would be to ctrl-alt-bkspace or reboot from the terminal. A little worried by what is actually happening when my system freezes in this way. The log mentions something about raise.c not being found. Should I go back to 2.16? Please advise. I will post a trouble ticket if necessary but I figured someone else out there might be having this happening too.
  2. Hello, I just ordered a subscription but was unable to connect to any server using the eddie-ui software (that i installed from the deb repo) under linux Mint Tara . I've found some related topic (about some trouble under mint) but since my OpenVPN package is already under 2.4.4 it seem's not relevant. So i'm not able to connect to any server and it's looping in connect, disconnect cycle. 3. I just install version 2.16.3 in Mint 18.3 Cinnamon. Installation is fine. However it cannot connect to any site. Any server connection goes into a loop and disconnect-reconnect. I have tried version 2.15.2, same effect. It is a dual boot system and with windows 7, the connection goes through and work without issue. It is something with Mint (tried it on 2 computers). I tried differents protocols but it make no difference. Don't use any proxy either. ...log : . 2018.11.18 11:49:54 - Eddie version: 2.15.2 / linux_x64, System: Linux, Name: Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia \n \l, Version: Linux Mint181Sandra 4.15.0-38-generic #41~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 10 20:16:04 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux, Mono/.Net: 4.2.1 (Debian 4.2.1.102+dfsg2-7ubuntu4); Framework: v4.0.30319. 2018.11.18 11:49:54 - 4. Question... If I just click the "X" in the upper right corner to close the program, Eddie doesn't always automatically deactivate the network lock. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. Is this a bug, or am I using the program incorrectly? What I mean is, am I always supposed to click the Deactivate button before exiting Eddie? If I do that, it always works. I'm using Eddie 2.12.4 on Linux Mint 18.1 Serena.
  5. Dear All, I have recently been trying to make the move to Linux from Windows 10. I have moved over to Linux Mint Cinnamon (latest version) I have managed to get Eddie to run at startup however when I log in the program always requires a password to be entered to authenticate it and allownit to start. This is not very fluid. Is there anyway in Linux to remove this having to enter the password. I have just typed the password to login to the account and would like Eddie to start, connect to a recommended server and activate network lock without retyping the password like it does when you log into Windows. Any help from someone more proficient on the use of Linux would be much appreciated.
  6. Hello there! Is there a way to hide Eddie in the tray under linux so it wont appear in the window list?
  7. I've recently purchased AirVPN and set up the client for usage with two windows devices, however I'm having issues with one of my Linux systems. In the first instance, when trying to install the client via the package installer, I received the message: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: "libmono-system-runtime2.0-cil" ... Since I couldn't use the installer, I downloaded the mobile client instead. Everything seemed to be running smoothly, except when I ran a check on ipleak.net, I found that my UK details were displayed along with the foreign IP from the VPN. My accurate location was also shown on the Google Maps image at the bottom of the screen. This is not the case with either of my windows devices. In the windows instances, the only addresses and locations shown are those coming from the VPN. Also, the ipleaks check reads: "AirVPN Exit Node: No." With both my windows devices, this section reads: "AirVPN Exit Node: Yes." Forgive me if I sound foolish, but I really am confused as to what the issue could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. A maybe quick and probably elementary question: In a Linux Mint Virtualbox installation running Eddie with Network Lock active, do I need to/should I have any additional firewall going?
  9. I'm not sure where to start on this one tbh. I was sat looking at my comp the other day and came up with the idea of using my router firewall (multi OS boot PC) to reject the majority of unwanted traffic. At the moment on my linux mint install (I'm very new to linux - 2 weeks) this is done by iptables and similar setup on windows OS. With windows this isn't a problem as the tap adapter produces a MAC but on my linux install it uses Tun masquerading as my eth adapter IP/no MAC. I should probably first ask is there a need - it would make life easier and rejects traffic at the router reducing network load, a second(1st) line of leak defence if an accidental change is made? I can't setup a firewall rule on my router (non wrt/tomato) that will give the restrictions needed without a separate MAC or IP to my physical adapter. I have tried to setup a Tap adapter on my linux install and ultimately failed. I have tried (linux mint) using gnome network manager (bridge utils installed) ticking the box use tap and downloaded Airvpn config files (no extra lines at point of download) replacing the lines in the file after putting in directory 'dev tun' with 'dev tap0' along with bridge ip's etc and without. I did read somewhere I may need to change 'update-resolv-conf'... Basically I'm out of my depth without help at this stage and I didn't want to make the huge number of changes some articles I read gave guidance for without further advice and guidance. In summary: 1- Will this indeed work well as a second leak protection measure? 2- Is it worth the effort? 3- Thoughts on the idea? 4- How do I change to use a Tap instead of tun with minimal/succinct changes? IF this makes no sense at all, please feel free to pull me up on it
  10. Hello, I have a strange problem: I'm using Linux Mint 17 (Cinnamon, 64-bit), no firewall settings applied. After connecting to AirVPN through the network-manager (using .ovpn config file imported) or using "Eddie 2.1 (Portable)" I cannot connect to my Jabber/XMPP profiles (i have two different profiles on two different jabber-servers, including Jitsi). I have tried Pidgin, Gajim and Jitsi. Pidgin cannot login into my accout, Gajim is seems to be connected but no one can see me logged in and I don't see any contacts online, and I cannot send/receive any messages - so I'm accually offline. When I am connected to Jitsi/XMPP account I can see other contacts and they can see me, but I cannot send messages only receive them and I cannot make/receive any calls. In all cases, when I use "Net Activity Viewer" application I see that there is a connection established from local address 10.4.x.x to a jabber-server on a remote port 5222 but still I cannot communicate. I have also tried to flush iptables settings just to be sure - it didn't help. // Just to be clear - I try to connect to XMPP after I have established AirVPN connection. Everything else working but XMPP. When I'm disconnected from AirVPN everything works just fine. // I was using AirVPN under Windows 7 and everything was working (with Comodo anti-leaking Global Rules applied). To be 100% sure, I have tried a clean install of Linux Mint 16 and 17 (both Cinnamon, 64-bit) on a flash drive. The problem repeated. There is more: I have tried to boot from Linux Mint Debian Edition (from a flash drive with installation iso image written on it) - there was NO problem connecting to XMPP accounts under AirVPN connection (using Eddie 2.1 Portable! I just don't know what to think about all of this... some kind of a mystery.
  11. Hi- this isn't so much a problem as a change I've noticed since upgrading my OS to run OpenVPN Last year was running 2 main devices. Laptop on Ubuntu 9.04 and a tablet on Ice Cream Sandwich. OpenVPN wouldn't run on Ubuntu 9.04 on laptop, had to configure seperately via Network Manager. Worked a treat on laptop, except whenever my connection was disrupted and AirVPN automatically reconnected but to a different server, Facebook and Gmail would go into spasms, lock me out and I'd need to reanswer security questions. It was painful, but I felt safe I could run OpenVPN on my Android tablet, and I don't recall having this reconnection security issue at either site ( but didn't use the tablet much ) I upgraded to Mint last year, was able to install OpenVPN and run my AirVPN acct through it. But I did notice that since then, neither FB or Gmail has had security issues with this when connection drops and is re-established via a different server A colleague suggested that perhaps in the interim AirVPN may have updated it's routing so that reconnects don't cause Facebook/ Gmail to warn about session hijacks, and I should check that first Is this the case? Or is OpenVPN somehow signalling that a VPN is being used with some sites such as Facebook? TIA
