So I know this maybe over the top and a wee bit silly but what if you chained 2 VPNs together through virtualization (VPN 1 on host machine and VPN 2 on a virtual machine) but instead of running 1 virtual machine you installed a virtual machine inside of a virtual machine and installed VPN 2 inside that virtual machine thats installed inside the virtual machine then create another virtual machine seperate from the others and install pfsense and configure it and route the traffic through VM 2 (virtual machine inside the virtual machine) to VM 1 then back through the host? And of cousre run TOR too............ VPNception?

When using a VPN, am I correct in thinking that any peering arrangements that my ISP uses will no longer apply as it will depend on the exit server that I am connected to?

Airvpn's client doesn't officially drop connections but, when I try to load pages/visit websites they won't load. This happens after I do a speedtest or watch 1080p+ YouTube video. I am using the client Eddie. My connection speed is 126mbps dl & 12mbps ul. I brought 1 year Airvpn access so I would really like this to work properly. Thanks.

Hi there! Imagine a scenario in which one is in a country in which it is illegal to use a VPN. In this scenario, the ideal solution for would be to use a VPN or method in conjunction with the VPN that conceals the fact that one is being used. Is this a service that AirVPN offers? How does one implement this, if possible? Is it automatically a part of the setup/deal? If it's not possible using AirVPN alone, how does one go about making this possible? Many thanks!

Hi. I use AirVPN in my macbook to watch netflix in different countries since I only have an American Netflix account. This however doesn't work with Amazon FIreTv Stick's Netflix. How do I use AirVPN to configure my router to connect directly to AirVPN servers so that both the macbook and the firetv stick connect through the VPN? Thanks.

So far I am using VPN to download/upload torrents to private tracker. As soon as the AirVPN loses connenction for whatever reason, I have enabled the mechanism that shuts down the network to my macbook. Furthermore, I have confirured Vuze to start only when tun0 interface is available. I see also, that there are some people using proxy servers and TOR network, would this be benefitial from anonimity side of things in my case or not? I would like some links or discussion based on the topic's title Thanks

Hi All, I use a VPN (Alcyone) on my ASUS RT-AC3200 router with 378.55 merlin on it. Unfortunately the vpn disconnects randomly after a X of time.. I already tried other servers with tcp/udp but all with the same problem. Here is a copy of my log. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Since upgrading to Windows 10 there is a build-in feature to use a VPN. Had any of you had any luck configuring it? I would like to use the VPN when it's needed and just browse on my normal connection when it's turned off. The browsing speeds were horrible on windows 7 and I had to turn it off everytime and changing the dns to be able to enjoy my 100mbit browsing experience and not a 33k6. Any help/input is appreciated!

ok, using Ubuntu 14.04, Thunderbird, VPN through Network manager. Unable to connect to my outgoing mail server. smtp.secureserver.net / 68.178.213.37 port 465 SSL/TLS . I am unable to connect to it while on VPN (Blocked I assume), turn off VPN and I have no problem. This also seems to be the only port they offer. Is there a way to add to the settings that anything going to this address to bypass VPN via the iptables and if so how. Tried a few settings and still doesnt work. Or do I need to add a additional Netcard?

Hello all, this is a question I am struggling to phrase in a google search, therefore I cannot find an answer. Recently thinking about the Tor network it occured to me that in the case of a VPN, the Exit server is presumably the server that decrypts the traffic? Am I wrong on that? If not, then wouldn't that mean that VPN traffic could pass overseas unencrypted. For example: If i was to want to access facebook.com (US based) from here in the UK, the connection (encryped) would go Me>ISP>VPNSERVER>FACEBOOK So my question, perhaps a silly one, is: Is the internet traffic between the Exit server encrypted? If not, are we all at risk by not using a VPN exit server that is based in the same country as the server we are trying to access? Because otherwise I draw the conclusion that we are sending unencrypted internet traffic over the international fibre cables that are all heavily monitored. Thanks in advance

Hey, After logging in I used to be able to connect to any of the servers. I would select TCP over port 443 to connect. But recently the version of the client I have stopped working. When I try to log in it says "The client is obsolete and no longer supported". So I went and downloaded the latest version. I can log in fine and see the server list, but I can't connect to any of them. I keep getting an "Checking info 1, 2, 3... unable to connect to the remote host error". It then keeps doing this over and over trying to connect. I have tried to connect with many servers and always get the same result.

I am running the following system: Raspberry pi 2 with ArchLinux Arm Kernel 3.18Provider Down/Up Speeds: 70/10 MbitI can maxout Up and Down speed without VPNIf I use my laptop (Manjaro linux) i can maxout the connection even behind the VPN, so this is not provider traffic shapingWhen using the VPN the following happens I try to to download anything using a single connection (for instance using "aria2c -x 1 -o /dev/null download_url") my top speed is going to be ~150KB/s with negligible cpu load.I try to the same thing using multiple connection (for instance using "aria2c -x 10 -o /dev/null download_url") my top speed is going to be ~600KB/s, and in both case cpu load from openvpn is about 30%, so this is not a cpu issue.If try to download a single torrent (extremely well seeded) I reach even better speeds (~1.5MB/s), with about 50% cpu load from the openvpn process.The only way to maxout the cpu and the download speed is to download several well seeded torrents at once (so a lot of connections I believe), getting 3MB/s (the expected cpu limit) with 100% cpu load.I can't say what is going on, but apparently it looks like that a "single" connection is going slow (maybe for some faulty network configuration?) and the only way to saturate the speed is to use several connections at once. Hello everyone, I purchased AirVPN recently to keep my torrent traffic private, and am just now getting around to putting it to use. However, I'm getting some extremely slow speeds, or rather no speed at all. I'm using the AirVPN client and letting it connect to a recommended server, but consistently get 0 B/s (Yes, that's B/s) download and upload. It will occasionally jump to ~100 B/s, or even ~100 KB/s, but drops back to 0 B/s shortly after. I also took the speed test on this website which gave the following results: Down: 0.477 Mbit/s Out, 0.470 Mbit/s In (98%), 1MB - Up: 0.382 Mbit/s Out, 0.322 Mbit/s In (84%), 1MB - Date: Tue, 31 Mar 2015 19:28:09 GMT - Buffers: 1MB/1MB - Laps: 3, Time: 325.56 secs Not quite 0 B/s like the AirVPN client says, but still unacceptably slow considering I get around 50-60 Mbits/s download and upload (Verizon) when not connected to the VPN. I'm a total greenhorn when it comes to just about anything networking, and assume I messed something up when trying to configure the VPN with my torrent client (Deluge), so I'm just going to go into what exactly I've done so far and then maybe someone here can give me some guidance. Second, I setup Windows firewall rules to block Deluge's connection in the event that the VPN unexpectedly disconnects, or I forget to turn it on or something. I'll get a few KB/s while connected to the VPN, and it will stop or start back up when I disconnect and reconnect to the VPN respectively. Aside from those two things, I've done nothing else, and don't even know if there is still more I need to do aside from those two things. I'm hoping the pros here can point me in the right direction because what I've tried to find out on my own so far has been fruitless. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, ich have e problem with download speed usin vpn. Usually it's not possible to get more than 1Mb. To make connection to the airvpn I'm using ASUS RT-N66U with tomato shibby. Changing servers or ports doesn't help. I was trying with udp 443 and 53 but there is no effect. Telekom is my IPS and I have 50Mb internet connection. Could ynaone help me solving my problem? Dear community, Hoping someone can help with this.... I am trying to setup a firewall script for my router running Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 -121 K26ARM USB AIO-64K by SHIBBY on a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk on mostly default settings apart from the VPN Client. The script is to block all non-VPN traffic even if the connection fails and i have tried several suggestions made in the forums without success. Below is the script most people have success with (except me): iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -o tun0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i tun0 -o br0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -o vlan2 -j DROP iptables -I INPUT -i tun0 -j REJECT iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE (from https://airvpn.org/topic/4287-how-to-block-all-traffic-with-dd-wrt-if-vpn-connection-fails/) I think the problem lies in the assigned interface names. Below is my current routing table while VPN'd: In short can someone modify the script to suite my arrangement?? or let me know what direction I need to take to set this up.... using the script above lets traffic through even if I stop the VPN client and my attempts to modify usually blocks all traffic. While recently the cloudflare captchas became a major annoyance they seem to block whole IP ranges now (leaseweb).You can log into your account but every download you start gets timed out. With a bunch of european servers I experienced this and can confirm. So I contacted the support and they claimed that this "provider" (AirVPN) provides account-sharing and even charges their users for it - WTF Don't know what is on their mind; maybe AirVPN is supposed to be a multihoster? And therefore block whole IP ranges? This needs some clarification!

The setup is: Air over TBB (Tor browser bundle) (Running TBB First, then airvpn over Tor) Is it possible to setup iptables in a way to drop any non vpn packets when connected Air over Tor? Or maybe drop any non tor & vpn packets?
