  1. By my count: AzireVPN, Windscribe, TorGuard, Cryptostorm, Perfect Privacy, Njalla VPN, ProtonVPN, PrivateVPN, OVPN, Private Internet Access seem to be the main ones. There is a further list here but it has not been updated in a while (Mullvad/IVPN are still listed as supporting port forwarding) and a lot of the other providers not mentioned above don't seem to be that popular or well-tested for port forwarding. https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/s9f36q/list_of_vpns_that_allow_portforwarding_2022/
  2. Just wondering if anyone here had any experience with Torguard VPN service? I'm looking for a 2nd VPN service to have alongside my AirVPN subscription.
  3. https://torguard.net/downloads/docs/TorGuard Complaint (619-cv-00978) (Losey PLLC) (5.24.19).pdf
  4. All, A happy airvpn customer. Thought of checking with you about your experiences with torguard ? Thanks a lot.
  5. EDIT: I realize that without developer mode enabled I can not connect to Air via ChromeOS.
  6. Unfortunately, wireguard is blocked in China, doesn't work anymore through WG protocol..................I have tested Astrill/Torguard/VPNac woth their WG protocol...........confirmed by torguard staff........ damn.......... Wireguard is not designed to bypass blocks. It's sufficient blocking UDP (or strongly shaping outgoing UDP packets) to make Wireguard unusable, and that's more and more common practice on many mobile ISPs in every continent and country. Forget connections over stunnel and don't even fantasize about connections over SSH. There are also other important limitations and concerns, anyway we will make them all very clear when we offer Wireguard. Please use OpenVPN as usual to bypass China blocks. Kind regards

  8. I currently use Torguard and have for a long time (I actually use several different VPNs). I rarely have connection issues as most servers are VERY acceptable speed wise and the support is phenomenal. Server list is big and the interface is actually very good with the ability for more advanced users to change features (with good debug support). They were running a 50% off for life special when I signed up...and $5 a month is nothing. They also make great browser plug ins and are the ONLY worthwhile VPN with a GUI for Linux (Apparently I see AirVPN has one? I haven't tried it yet but I will soon!)! Now...here's my beef. 1) US based!! Now I've personally spoken with staff members and of course they swear they have nothing to turn over just like the rest. Til that is tested by the US government what else can I say? If you're committing any kind of serious crime, is this a risk you're willing to take? That's up to you. 2) Their servers are NOT as true to state as AirVPN. Please check your VPN with ipleak.net. When you're Country, State, City is pulled up, check out the accuracy percentages. Torguard is about the same as other big boy VPNs but AirVPN is the ONLY (I've tested over a dozen) VPN that utilizes servers that come back 100% accuracy on location and that is very important to me. Most people probably don't give a damn...but hey...I give a big damn 3) Lastly, only 1 support agent seems to know ANYTHING about anything. The others will quickly tell you to fill out a ticket. Lame eh? I will say the 1 guy who knows his stuff...knows his stuff. I bother him alot. He probably hates me. (s'why I use different names to talk lol) Anyway. There's my bla bla about Torguard.
  9. Hello all, I've been with AirVPN for quite a while and I don't plan on leaving because of the awesome service! But, like many of you I do like to investigate the features and reviews of existing and upcoming VPN services. I was using TorGuard a couple of years ago, it was alright but speeds were very inconsistent. Upon checking their VPN Blog page this morning I noticed that there's a post about then using a new technology called OpenConnect, which is supposed to be the fastest and most secure way of connecting to a VPN. I just wanted to know if this is accurate information and if it is does AirVPN use it or are they planning on using it? Here's a link to the blog post: https://torguard.net/blog/torguard-introduces-openconnect-vpn/
  10. I went through the same experience as you. For the past 10 years, I first used BTGuard then TorGuard>PIA>TunnelBear>PIA>ExpressVPN>NordVPN (like a week)>ExpressVPN then finally accepted AirVPN as my VPN God. I found AirVPN through r/VPN that someone recommend this to me. The reason why I went with AirVPN is: They are one of very few VPN service that offer static port forwarding which is perfect for torrenting. Their Network Lock is vastly superior than other VPN competitor options Their software, Eddie, is capable of changing the port automatically (and keep connecting to the same server) when it detect an issue with the port number or protocol. VPN competitor will move on to the next server in the list if their software having issue connecting regardless if the protocol/port is the problem. I don't know if the competitors change their software to try different port/protocol since I came to AirVPN in 2016. I forgot why I am discussing this? Oh right, the easily searchable part. Yes, I believe it is something to do that reviewers are not paid to review AirVPN. My opinion is that if the reviewer are being paid to review the product, then they will have a bias on the product. Even the reviewers are ethical and professional to provide objective reviews but it still have bias to it. I agreed with you about that reviewers simply are ignoring the because of two things: they are not paid to review the product or they see AirVPN not marketable. However, I do found few article that gave AirVPN a positive reviews. Again, it is down to what websites are providing the reviews and their reputation on it. Often I prefer to get the reviews and the feedback from the crowdsourcing site and social media since they will give their experiences that something reviewers do overlook because they uses the product far longer than reviewers does in half hour. And reviewers usually don't follow up or update their reviews after a year or so. If you want a better idea of VPN products, I strongly recommend looking into Reddit subs, they often have subs that are specialized in the subject. The visual guide aspect, I get it. I understand that. I first use Eddie, I was not sure what to do and just roll with the default setting. Then the next day, I decided to look in Eddie and the options they have. It only takes me 5 mins to understand them and how to use them effectively. Also Eddie do have documentation on the bottom-right corner on some options to get a better understanding of the features they provided.
  11. @zhang888 You really need to read it all. TorGuard claims much more: blackmail, unsolicited physical approach...
  12. With due respect to all tech savvy folks in our forum, I have few comments. I subscribe to IVPN in addition to Air. Recently, IVPN started providing wireguard servers (10 servers) in multiple platforms (Windows not yet available). To my knowledge, they are providing this option after Mullvad and Azirevpn. I have also seen that vpn.ac and Torguard are planning to bring some wireguard servers, but the timeline is not known. IVPN clearly indicated "WireGuard is a new VPN protocol that promises better security and faster speeds compared to existing solutions like OpenVPN or IPSec.Please be aware that this protocol is still in development and we only recommend using it for testing purposes and in situations where security is not critical."
  13. Thank you Guys. I always finally come back to Air after checking trial versions of multiple vpn services as none of them match the quality of service that Air provides. A great thanks to these amazing Guys. My only limitation is my inability to renew the annual subscription (~42 USD for 1 year) every year during the time of blackfriday sale as it is a huge money considering my economic conditions. But, the quality of service always require some fee, so no complaints. So, thought of exploring the relatively cheaper VPNs for example Torguard.
  14. I would love to see the ability to purchase more connections! as 3 is not enough and having to manage more than one account under a different email is a pain. Why not take an approach like TorGuard? who allow you to add more connections to your account for $1 a month for example. This is the only thing holding me back from purchasing AIR as my main VPN. Also is there any news for an IOS client?
  15. Hi all, I tested the new PIA south Korean server, and it sucks........ Many websites are blocked because of the South Korean government. Torguard and Ipvanish have the same problems.. So my simple question issss, Why does this VPN companies use censored servers? A VPN supposed to be used to unblock this kind of sites? So Air and mullvad are the only REAL (Uncensored) VPNS? (Why I use PIA? Funny story, only for the mobile app haha)
  16. you said "Torguard is good in the sense that's easy to install it on UBUNTU 32bit system. But it is more expensive than Airvpn! " but I can see see how a vpn could be easier to install than AirVpn
  17. Torguard хорош в том плане, что легко устанавливается на UBUNTU 32битную систему. Но он дороже стоит, чем Airvpn!
  18. Cool, PIA did something for openvpn 2.4 But why do they need OpenVPN 2.4 if their client sucks ass. I tried them out and most of the servers were slow and i had disconnects the whole time. Their client? Lacks of basic features. Even TorGuard has more client features *shrugs*
  19. Hello! I need 2 vpns for a project. I have decided that airvpn will be one of them. I am looking for maximum security/privacy. I don't want anyone (government/NSA included) to know anything about my online activities. I am deciding between the following for my second vpn: - Mullvad - PerfectPrivacy edit: fuck nazis this is off my list - OVPN.se (zhang said they keep logs in another forum but idk what led zhang to believe this -- they have clear no-logging policies outlined: https://www.ovpn.se/en/blog/logs-not-at-ovpn/ I know that providers lie, but idk what would lead us to believe that they are lying) I'm open to recommendations and would appreciate if ppl could explain some of the flaws in these services if they exist. This is how ill be configuring the vpns: I have a linux laptop with a VM running whonix. I will run a vpn before tor on whonix and then one outside of the vm with an ssl tunnel to hide tor from ISP. This means that traffic is hidden from malicious exit nodes on tor, plus all that vpn 1 sees is the tor exit node so it doesn't even know my real ip. Then the one on the outside of the VM will only see tor and it's sole purpose is to a) make more hops and block usage from isp (ssl tunnel in airvpn, stealth mode in torguard, etc). I know this will be really slow; that's not a concern. My primary concern is to avoid possible authorities who may or may not be interested in what I might or might not do. traffic -> encrypted by vpn 1 ->encrypted by tor-> encrypted by vpn 2 -> isp -> decrypted by vpn 2 -> decrypted by tor -> decrypted by vpn 1 -> destination i may have messed that up a bit but i think that's about right. Thanks in advance
  20. If anyone needs proof that provider X is using VPS servers without guaranteed bandwidth (and hence no realtime monitoring) feel free to reply to this thread and specify the provider name. I just don't want to make it sound "forced" like I am trying to disvalue other services without reason. As for TorGuard, as it was already mentioned, I can find that at least 30% of their infrastructure is based on guarantee-less VPS servers, sometimes at €15/month each. I even bought a trial account for this purpose, since they don't allow you to view the servers addresses without it. Disclaimer: There is nothing totally "wrong" operating a VPN service while relying on shared VPS providers, and in some cases not even providers, but just re-sellers of other providers, like in the case above. As long as the user knows how to do his own homework before buying a plan. Some companies, like HMA, did a fortune by selling cheap boxes in many places of the world, that would be barely useful as proxy servers for browsing, as a top notch VPN service. This is up to the user to do the testing and make sure the service is actually qualifying for his own needs. Overselling occurs everywhere, not only in the online business. Other industries invented it, and inevitably you can see it on the VPN market as well. But always try to compare apples to apples, just like you don't expect to get premium food at McDonalnd's and their prices Here you have some Italian chefs, and the ingredients they use are carefully selected and usually never disappoint.
  21. Sure, but TorGuard says they allow 5 connections from anywhere. Of course, I'm not arguing that Air should increase the number of connections they allow. I'm just curious about this use case as read on reddit.
  22. interesting. TorGuard replied and said the 5 simultaneous connections are allowed from anywhere. So I'm curious why their account was suspended.
  23. A discussion that came in great timing. TorGuard just suspended a user that utilized his 5 connections. https://www.reddit.com/r/VPN/comments/4jvwlx/torguard_account_deletion/
