Install OpenVPN for Android.Hosted on GitHub: https://github.com/schwabe/ics-openvpn Note: if you don't have access to Google Play Store, you can download "OpenVPN for Android" apk here: https://airvpn.org/repository/ics-openvpn-latest-stable.apk Launch your internet browser.NOTE: don't use the default Android browser because it has an unresolved bug.
Chrome and Opera have been tested by us and work.
Connect to AirVPN website, login and create the configuration files from our Config Generator.Choose Linux as platform (only direct TCP and UDP connections are supported) and finally click the "Generate" button to download it.
Downloaded .ovpn files may be imported directly into the application but the behavior depends on many factors (employed browser, files manager, Android version, etc). For simplicity's sake, we assume in this guide that you saved .ovpn generated files under the Download directory in the Android filesystem.
Open OpenVPN for Android and tap the top right "Import" button:
Click on the import button of the prompt dialog:
    Browse to *.ovpn files:
    Select your configuration of choice:
Confim the import with the top right button:
Click on the imported profile to connect:
Confirm the Android's security prompt dialog:
    Wait for the bootstrap sequence:
The VPN tunnel is now established:
When you need to disconnect from the VPN click on the "Disconnect" button from the app's notification:
    Confirm the prompt dialog:

    @bobber6

We do not comment on laws that our lawyers have not read in their entirety and we won't comment on draft laws because they can be modified hundreds of times or dropped.  We know of similar laws that are already enforced in various Western countries, for example France and USA, where intelligence personnel can wiretap a private citizen without a mandate from a magistrate or judicial overview, or where mass surveillance is routinely performed by competent agencies (think about NSA).

We usually find EDRi comments and articles enlightening so we re-direct you there for analysis of such laws. This is a page you should be interested in:
    https://edri.org/theme/security-surveillance

We already wrote years ago about how to defeat a particularly powerful adversary under specific conditions (for example that your system is not compromised) so we will not comment again on that. It's bad that you spend time to write here without having searched our forums. Here it is, for your comfort: https://airvpn.org/topic/54-using-airvpn-over-tor/?p=1745

About other parts of the laws we cited, we remind you once again that it's not our competence and it's not the purpose of our service to protect your system against malware, including spyware installed surreptitiously by intelligence or other entities. When a system is compromised by such spyware, usage of a VPN, Tor etc. is totally irrelevant.

Staff got a reaction from Valerian in AirVPN - Windows 10, Disabled Network Without AirVPN   ...
    Hello,

where did you get this idea? It is designed specifically NOT to do it, for important reasons (think about headless servers remotely administered).  Leaving your system isolated from the Internet while the Air client is not running is your sole responsibility and can be achieved very easily in a few seconds (see how Netwok Lock works to understand how). It would be an enormous design flaw to allow the Air client to do that.

The client RAM footprint is minimal and can be loaded in a fraction of seconds. If the client needs two minutes to run, it is certainly some problem in your system. If you mean that it's OpenVPN that needs two minutes to connect, then it's again a problem in your system. Note that the Air client is an OpenVPN wrapper.

That's not "corruption" of your network and restoring to a prior savepoint is not necessary. It's an obvious consequence of killing the client without grace, because in such a case you prevent the client to restore your previous firewall and DNS settings.

That's a blatant absurdity, see above.

Implementing Network Lock through plug-ins which use firewalls is intentional. The good part of it is that it is modular and allows any third-party to support their firewall (Eddie, including the Network Lock plug-ins, is free and open source). The excellent part of it is that it defers packet filtering to already established, peer-reviewed tools developed in decades, instead of starting from scratch with subsequent security problems.

For these reasons, writing an own firewall would be a terrible mistake and your recommendations are not only not acceptable, but even a list of "awful things to avoid at all costs in software design". You seem to follow the perverted vision of monolithic applications which try to do anything by themselves, which is a vision that, when implemented (it had some crazy followers some years ago, actually, and someone is still convinced of the goodness in it), has brought to catastrophic consequences.

Or perhaps your post has been influenced by major problems in your system, so feel free to open a ticket to try to investigate on them.

    Kind regards

    Hello!

We are sorry, currently SSTP support is not planned. Is there any particular reason for which you would prefer it instead of OpenVPN on port 443 TCP? Please consider that if you can use UDP, OpenVPN is much faster than SSTP, it solves all the problems of IP over TCP, while keeping a higher authentication security.

    Synopsis

This program, for Windows, Linux and OS X, opens a socket to listen or send packets to an address.
It can be useful to debug the Port Forwarding with AirVPN.
The IP list is automatically compiled from your interfaces. If you connect to a different server, refresh (the green icon) the list to view the new 10.* IP address. Using IP 0.0.0.0 and listening means listening on all interfaces. Each line in the log is a connection. The Send button sends a string with AirVPN text and the current date (RFC 822) to the specified address. If you use the Check button in AirVPN Port Forwarding page, you will see a line without 'IN' bytes and with 'TCP Closed' status. This is because our checking simply opens and closes a socket, without sending any data.
    Download
    Current version: 1.3 - 27/06/2013
Binary (.NET Framework 2, recommended with Windows XP/Vista/7) Binary (.NET Framework 4, recommended with Windows 8 and above) Source code (GPL3)

Staff got a reaction from ocadwuh in How to accept DNS push on Linux systems with resolvconf   ...
NOTE: if you run Eddie or Hummingbird you don't need this guide, but you might need to get rid of update-systemd-resolved which, in one of its various working modes, can interfere fatally with DNS handling.

This post describes how to accept OpenVPN servers DNS push on Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and some other POSIX-compliant OS when:
resolvconf package OR openresolv package is installed OpenVPN is run directly (i.e. NOT through any OpenVPN GUI/wrapper such as network-manager) OpenVPN version is 2.1 or higher Warning: the specified "update-resolv-conf" script path refers to many Linux distributions and OpenVPN package installation, but NOT to all of them. Please check the correct path of the mentioned file before proceeding (for example: it could be /usr/share/openvpn instead of /etc/openvpn). If the script is not on your system, you'll need to create it. See the typical script here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/OpenVPN#DNS

Important: in the same above linked page, note that if you have a system based on systemd you might need some important modifications:

Add to your OpenVPN configuration file(s), either in field "Custom Directives" of the Configuration Generator or by editing the configuration directly, the following lines:
    script-security 2 up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf
In this way update-resolv-conf will record the DNS push and through resolvconf or openresolv will modify the nameserver accordingly. When OpenVPN quits, update-resolv-conf restores the previous nameserver line(s).

    Kind regards
