    Hello!

    We're very glad to inform you that a new 1 Gbit/s server located in the USA (Jacksonville, Florida) is available: Pollux.

    The AirVPN client will show automatically the new server, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access it through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Member Area"->"Access without our client").

    The server accepts connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 2018 UDP and TCP.

    As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses.

    Just like every other Air server, Pollux supports OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH.

    Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue.

    Kind regards and datalove

    Hey I'm just writing this to let people who tried to help me know that I have fixed the issue. I finally contacted my isp after trying all other options. I use prepaid internet service that I pay for monthly. I had just renewed my service at the beginning of the month and everything seemed to go through correctly, meaning that they charged my bank account and my member page for them showed that my service would expire on May 5th. Also as I had previously stated I was able to connect through airvpn by using tcp ports instead of udp therefore I assumed that my internet connection was working because if not I shouldn't have been able to connect through udp or tcp. But after talking with Virgin mobile they said that there was an error in their computer system and that my payment and all went through but for some reason there was a glitch with my actual connection. After resetting whatever they had to on their end I am now able to connect normally to airvpn through udp ports like I always have. Just wanted to say thanks again to all the people that responded to my post and gave whatever help they could. Thanks a lot this forum always comes through when I need it to.

    I recently changed from Eset to Comodo, and have not regretted it. The Comodo has much more detailed options and functions , and can bind the vpn service better to a adapter.I use the antivirus from Eset now standalone. No Problems at all.

    Staff got a reaction from azmo in AirVPN does not recognize ICANN authority anymore   ...
    AIRVPN DOES NOT RECOGNIZE ANYMORE VERISIGN, AFILIAS AND ICANN AUTHORITY. OUR COMMITMENT AGAINST UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UNFAIR AND ILLEGAL DOMAIN NAMES SEIZURES.

    The United States of America authorities have been performing domain names seizures since the end of 2010. The seizures have been performed against perfectly legal web-sites and/or against web-sites outside US jurisdiction.

    Administrators of some of those web-sites had been previously acquitted of any charge by courts in the European Union.

    The domain name seizures affect the world wide web in its entirety since they are performed bypassing the original registrar and forcing VeriSign and Afilias (american companies which administer TLDs like .org, .net, .info and .com) to transfer the domain name to USA authorities property. No proper judicial overview is guaranteed during the seizure.

    Given all of the above, we repute that these acts:

    - are a violation of EU citizens fundamental rights, as enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights;
    - are an attack against the Internet infrastructure and the cyberspace;
    - are a strong hint which shows that decision capacities of USA Department of Justice and ICE are severely impaired;

    and therefore from now on AirVPN does not recognize VeriSign, Afilias and/or ICANN authority over domain names. AirVPN refuses to resolve "seized" domain names to the IP address designated by USA authorities, allowing normal access to the original servers' websites / legitimate Ip addresses.

    In order to fulfil the objective, we have put in place an experimental service which is already working fine. If you find anomalies, please let us know, the system will surely improve in time.

    Kind regards

    Staff got a reaction from azmo in Important change on DNS handling   ...
    Hello!

    Since a few hours ago, we have completely dropped Google DNS.

    You are of course free to use Google DNS or any other public DNS if you wish so.

    Every VPN server has its DNS server, directly finds out information about the root servers, top level domains and authoritative name servers.

    Our DNS servers are neutral, do not ever inject or alter the requests (other services resolve to search results, try to fix typos etc).

    Where ICANN or root servers themselves interfer with censorship, we may apply specific censorship fix to our DNS server. See "AirVPN does not recognize ICANN authority anymore" topic for more information:
    https://airvpn.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&id=852&catid=3&Itemid=142

    Using our DNS allows our customers to use Air anti-geolocation discrimination features. For example, visiting a website that allows only United States connections from a Netherlands VPN server.

    It's recommended to use our DNS server to avoid censorship and use our anti geo-IP based discriminations features.

    Kind regards

    Thanks for answering my question. This is exactly what I would have liked to hear  , my experiences with OVH are nothing short of terrible, too. There are just too many VPN providers that simply dump their servers there without looking at the infrastructure/policies.
    Really glad you guys are having these requirements for servers/data centers and are only hosting in reliable locations that aren't ... well, sucky and have good privacy/network policies. That makes a huge difference for me.

    Keep up the great work!

    Hello!
    No, we have decided a long ago to drop Ovh for so many problems. We don't have an Ovh VPN server since 2011 and probably we will never go back to them. We maintained for some time a frontend on Ovh infrastructure but it's gone as well (too many problems with it as well, extremely bad support, no support on weekends, and additional very bad problems).
    Fornacis is inside the Ikoula datacenter in Reims, it meets our tos requirements, privacy policy is ok, the datacenter is network neutral and bandwidth tests are ok. If we receive a good feedback from our customers and users, we are ready to add new servers there, so any kind of feedback (either positive or negative) is more than welcome.

    Hello!

    You are right. In the future, if you need separate certificates, key and configuration files, in the configuration generator select the option "Advanced Mode" and tick the box "Separate keys/certs from .ovpn file". OpenVPN works just fine with embedded files, but network-manager for Linux does not support them. The Linux instructions will be updated soon.

    In the meantime please see here for new services and features that have been recently added:

    Hello!
    As you can see, we have deeply modified our system: new forum, new account processor, new support implementation and more.
    The forum enables you to use several functions that were previously unavailable, including the repeatedly required PMs between members, while the new account processor is much more flexible, eliminates some irritating defects of the previous one and offers additional features. The new support system allows us to follow and handle your requests and tickets more quickly and effectively.
