Bypassing VPN for certain IP addresses

How do I bypass the VPN for certain IP addresses (so that I can connect to them directly through my router)? I can't seem to find any information via Google. Just to warn you, I am a noob.

Hello!

Please see here (assuming that you run Windows; adjustments for different OS are anyway easy):

Kind regards

If you need a better understanding of the route command and the routing table are about, I explained a little bit more about it in this post:

The context was different though. It was part of (an admittedly cursory) explanation of how to use the VPN only for torrenting.
