Hello!

Can you please try connections toward different ports/protocols (please try 53 UDP and 80 TCP) just in case your ISP performs port shaping?

Kind regards

When I first started using AirVPN/OpenVPN this was also an issue for me. That was before setting up Comodo and only using UDP ports. When I would use TCP ports to connect my speeds where extremely slow but UDP helped a great deal with that issue. If you haven't tried using UDP, try it and see. Also part of my problem was an older PC that does not handle the added encryption very well. Not sure if your issue is the same, but wanted to let you know what I did to fix mine just in case you are facing the same issues.

Hello!

With the Air client please select the outbound port in the "Modes" tab, just before the connection.

If you're not using the Air Client software, which I don't, just download the OpenVPN files from this site under the Members area. "Members Area/Access without our client/". When selecting the Protocol, select only UDP, be sure that you do NOT check the TCP box. Once the file is downloaded place it into your OpenVPN config folder. From the OpenVPN tray app select the server you just created and then select connect. That's it.

Hello!

It's in the upper part of the Air client window, it is displayed after the login and before the connection.

the problems is definately at my clients end..and only affects internet browsing not p2p, p2p still max's out..now here's the thing...couple of days ago..air vpn dropped it's connection...so i disconnected...tried to reconnect..would not do so kept trying to connect for ages with no connection...so restarted pc..successfull login after restart...and 2 of the 3 uk servers said 0%...so i connected to usual server did speed test 18.6 Mbs... download..that's without changing anything on modes tab.. selecting anything on modes tab just gives me varying degrees of bad download speed..the speedtest site is taking forever to load now..so i think it's server issue rather than client.as i said when air vpn dropped my connection...when i successfully logged back in..2 of the 3 uk servers were at 0%...meaning every 1 using those 2 servers also had a dropped connection and had trouble logging back in?? that was my first ever dropped connection with air..

Hello!

Does it happen with all the servers? Can you please send us the connection logs (after a few minutes your computer is connected to the VPN)?

well my bandwith seams to be back to normal today...9Mbs with bootis...10.7 with frankfurt server... will try different servers and keep you posted, thanks

Hello!

Ok, great news. If the problem occurs again, please send us the logs pertaining to the relevant (if possible, also different logs for different ports, protocols and servers...), so that we can see if it's an intermittent packet loss or fragmentation problem. It might be that your ISP performs port shaping on some ports (especially UDP) only on some time windows. Normally this is a problem with ISPs which adopted business plans based on heavy overselling, and those ISPs tend to shape traffic only on ports not used for http and https, because http and https are the main index of perceived performance by average/low end customers.

Also, generally outbound port 53 UDP is not shaped in order not to slow down DNS queries, which would cause an immediate feeling of slow browsing by those who are, according to the ISP, their average customers.

Kind regards

as regards internet browsing..i have noticed in the last week that going to some websites for the first time after opening browser that say for example ebay...the website shows up at first as plain text (blue)...then after a second or so the full site appears..i use firefox...disabled all add ons to see if they were problem...still the same. tried internet explorer..and although download speed is normal, browsing still seams slow and lagging. i use ccleaner and it cleans the dns cache..and also use comodo secure dns..do you think its a dns problem rather than air vpn ? should i stop ccleaner from cleaning dns cache? or change dns servers? will figure it out eventually...just a matter of elimination..but any help would be appreciated, many thanks.

Hello!

For testing purposes, try to set 10.4.0.1 as primary (preferred) DNS in your physical network card too. Leave the secondary (alternate) DNS to your favorite DNS server IP address in order to allow your system to perform names resolution even when disconnected from the VPN, if you need that.

yeah i set my primary dns as suggested and does not make a difference with browsing..when first opening my browser today first website i go to has plain text for 4/5 seconds before it finally appears properly..that is with normal download speed as tested of 9+Mbs...will try different air server to see if that makes difference.
