Hi, I'm very new to VPN and just got my first one. I just downloaded Eddie and tried hitting connect to a recommended server, but it just keeps connecting and disconnecting, then it moves to the next one and the same thing happens over and over. I'm posting my log.

Eddie is getting no response from the servers.  Do you live in a nation that blocks VPNs?

I think you'll need to try TCP.  Go into settings > protocols.  Uncheck automatic.  Choose openvpn TCP any port and entry IP 3 or 4.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to try SSL or SSH.

Hello!

The most common reasons for what we see on the log, when UDP is not blocked by the ISP, are:
  • Windows Defender blocking Eddie and/or OpenVPN traffic
  • a traffic management / firewall tool on the router blocking UDP
Please check and also consider to switch to WireGuard (you can do it in Eddie's "Preferences" > "Protocols" window). In case you ascertain or suspect that your ISP blocks UDP, you can switch to OpenVPN over TCP (again in "Preferences" > "Protocols" window).

Kind regards

actually that log is them trying UDP entry 3 and then TCP and SSH and SSL.  none of them worked.  so, yes, chances are some software is blocking the connection.
