ANSWERED OpenVPN fatal error, due to missing "[…] TAP-Windows [or] Wintun adapters […]"

Recommended Posts

Hey there folks,

recently I'm unable to connect via EddieUI on my Windows 11 machine.

Specifically the attempt to establish a connection seems to fail due to the following events (copied from the Logs):

. <date redacted> - OpenVPN > open_tun
. <date redacted> - OpenVPN > There are no TAP-Windows nor Wintun adapters on this system. You should be able to create an adapter by using tapctl.exe utility.
. <date redacted> - OpenVPN > Exiting due to fatal error
! <date redacted> - Disconnecting
. <date redacted> - Routes, delete <address redacted>/32 for interface "Ethernet (Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller)".
. <date redacted> - Routes, delete <address redacted>/32 for interface "Ethernet (Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller)", not exists.
. <date redacted> - Connection terminated.
I <date redacted> - Cancel requested.
! <date redacted> - Session terminated.

Any help is very welcome.

Hello!

Thanks. Yes, the problem is not identical but similar to the one we imagined in our previous message. The solution is the same, i.e. the one we already suggested. For an accurate description of the issue please see here:
