"After a while"? How much? Always almost the same time?
I'm trying to reproduce this issue.

There is no difference between OpenVPN and WireGuard when calculating the IP Exit (if non-airvpn profiles are used).
I cannot reproduce the issue; I always get an IP Exit with both OpenVPN and WireGuard using Eddie 2.24.4, Linux Mint, and NordVPN profiles.

Can you confirm if it’s systematic, or does it occasionally manage to detect it? Thanks.
I’ll take note of the issue, but if I manage to reproduce it, it will likely be fixed in future versions. For now, the priority is to release a stable version, even with this minor issue.

@Clodo It's systematic this issue only with OpenVPN profiles, tested with 2 different providers. OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro x64 - 10.0.19045 Build 19045, I was able to reproduce on second computer as well OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro x64

You're not afraid of the dark web, are you ?

Having the same issue on Sonoma 14.7.1.
Noticed it after uptime of 4 days and 3 hours. (Seeing this for the first time.)

Eddie was still working as expected, UI was still responding to clicks, I was able to change panes, I was able to switch servers. The "Speed" pane was still correctly showing and painting the graphs.
But in the "Overview" pane the UL and DL counter was showing 0, also the "Connected since" was showing nonsense values, something like "-17355:00" if I remember correctly. (The name of the connected server was shown correctly though, even after a server switch.)

On Catalina, 2.24.4 won't connect to a server.  I just get an endless loop of connecting, disconnecting, restart in 3 seconds when choosing to Automatically connect to a server.  When I look at preferences there is no Wireguard under Protocols.

Yes, this has been mentioned by me and another user already a few posts earlier. I'm just curious, is it the same with you when you follow the steps that I described here:

I didn't even notice this in the first place... Indeed, WireGuard as protocol from the settings has completely vanished. There are only OpenVPN configurations listed - why was WireGuard removed??

Posted 02/26/2024 by staff - Eddie Desktop 2.24 beta released..A new UI is in the works that will finally remove the dependency on Mono and Xamarin, but we don't have a release date to announce yet. any updates ? i just downloaded it ,the experimental release, and it still needs mono! the black Friday sale ends in 2 days!                              would be nice to come back to airvpn

Update:
Havent had the issue since. Eddie is now running for almost 6 days straight.

on the eddie gui window there is a setting to stop if from doing that.  nobody has ever been able to figure out why it does that, so the only way to solve it is the setting u have know.

Version 2.24.5 (Tue, 10 Dec 2024 12:34:03 +0000)

  • [bugfix] [macOS] Fixed an issue preventing WireGuard detection.
  • [bugfix] [all] Fixed an issue that could cause a connection loop with "executable not allowed" appearing in logs.
  • [change] [linux-deb] updated dependencies from "policykit-1" to "pkexec | policykit-1".
  • [change] [all] Applied minor fixes

We are confident that we will switch this version to stable very soon.
Other reported issues (Exit IP detection, stats at 0, and other minor things) are under investigation and will be fixed in the upcoming version 2.25.x.

The same thing happens here, running Ubuntu 24.10 with Gnome desktop.
Otherwise, Eddie 2.24.5 seems to be working well.

2.24.5, more info on the "UI freeze" issue.
I have recreated this 5 out of 5 times.

Mac, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1, Eddie 2.24.5
It has 4 user accounts. 1 Admin, 3 Standard.

Mac starts up with 1st user (Admin), Eddie gets started. UI shows on Desktop of 1st user.
2nd user (Standard) logs in via VNC. UI (on 1st users desktop) looks fine.
3rd user (Standard) logs in via VNC. UI (on 1st users desktop) looks fine.
4th user (Standard) logs in via VNC. UI (on 1st users desktop) freezes.

Log out any of the 3 users --> UI starts to work again.
Log in that user again --> UI freezes again.

I can second this... macOS 15.1.1 (MacBook Air M1). Unfortunately those two issues still occur with 2.24.5:
  • WireGuard as protocol is not there any longer under "Settings" - "Protocols" (only OpenVPN)
  • Eddie is stuck in an endless loop when trying to connect:

This is i think an older issue but the version/update check on windows doesnt seem to work with network lock enabled at start/boot.
Also the download from airvpn.dev is very unstable/slow compared to .org

Both problem are the SAME problem. Please cause the endless loop, and Log > Lifebelt > "Upload to paste url" and paste here, thx.
