I have a TP Link Deco x20 with the option of adding a vpn client on the router. I've connected to other VPNs I've been trying and not had any issues. Not having the same luck with AirVPN so hoping someone here might have some ideas..

I've added the config file to the router and try to connect to the server but it just shows as "connecting". The server address showing and DNS are showing on the router admin page but it just shows as "connecting" in the status sections.

I couldn't find the same issue on the forums so would appreciate any thoughts. Cheers!

I'd say, it's looping. Please pull the log of OpenVPN and upload it here.

Thanks for your reply! My system doesn't allow VPN specific logs but I've pulled logs from the timeframe of a connection attempt. I'm able to use the same config on other devices with no issue so I'd been leaning toward some sort of bug with my router firmware (wouldn't be a first). I appreciate the mention of looping because it gives me something I can try investigate as a potential cause. Cheers!

Logs are way too terse. If you can't filter yourself, it's okay, but it's important to capture the whole connection attempt.
What I see is that a termination signal (SIGTERM) is issued which tells OpenVPN to disconnect normally. Could be anything causing this. 😕

I have a similar problem. Did you find a solution?

It eventually started working but with the same config I was having issues with. Persistence won round but it wasn't worth it. The cpu couldn't seem to handle openvpn and speeds were too slow.

Same error here. Its work fine with others openvpn config, only the airvpn dont work

Hello!

The CG can generate configuration files for OpenVPN 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.6 no-dco and 3.

2.4 does not support several 2.5 directives, while 2.5 and 2.6 deprecate or do not support anymore some 2.4 directives. 2.6 can be incompatible with 2.6 no-dco. Please make sure to generate a configuration file for the proper OpenVPN version you run. Turn on the "Advanced" switch to see the combo box that lets you select the OpenVPN version of the configuration file ("OpenVPN profile" combo box, default value 2.5).

Kind regards

I upgraded my mesh network to the Asus xt12 kit. It's a much better piece of hardware and AirVPN works like a dream in openvpn or wireguard . I kept an eye out for a good price on the hardware and I'm so glad I upgraded.

Setting up the xt12 router for wireguard takes a second and it connects right away with no issues.
